There is no question that Mercedes-Benz service centers are among the best in the automotive world. And let’s face it: any time you’re great at something, is there really any better way to celebrate your greatness than by putting it to a lovely little jingle?
I think not.
And it’s this ode to service greatness that is the central theme of the video you’re about to watch – a lovely musical triumph whose melody is rivaled only by its lyrical greatness.
Some of our favorite examples: “I like them to be strong, that they can catch me when I skid… Like them to turn me on. I thought that some of them did… But just as I needed a helping hand, so many men were out of service… not like you.” And let’s not forget: “Won’t stop until I smile – accept my special style.”
But enough talk. Let’s all watch the video below, and join together in celebrating Mercedes-Benz Servicemen around the world.
If that wasn’t enough to make you smile, the extended version is below.
When engineers at Mercedes were tasked with delivering a vehicle that represented Mercedes’ slogan “The best or nothing,” there was only one choice – create the most innovative and refined Mercedes-Benz ever made.
Take a look behind the scenes and see what it took to make the 2014 Mercedes S-Class the best car in the world.
The new S-Class, Vision Accomplished, is the theme carried throughout all of Mercedes’ commercials for the 2014 S-Class. To see the brand messaging in action, watch the four videos below for a look at the Mercedes-Benz S-Class TV spots as well the last video (which feels more like a mini-movie than a commercial).

The S 63 AMG Presented by Wolfgang Rother
Mercedes has revealed the 2014 S63 AMG in an official Mercedes AMG video out today. The video shows a pass of the license plate with the letter S and 63 that is fitted to the S63 AMG’s aggressive front with large air intakes. The next clip of the video shows the all digital tachometer with a V8 Biturbo badge while revving the engine in park. And lastly the video shows a quick glimpse of the dual sound quad exhaust just before panning the side of the model.
Though very little official information has been revealed about the S63 AMG in terms of engine output, we expect the V8 5.5 liter twin turbo engine to be paired with a seven speed AMG speedshift transmission that is capable of offering up 550+ HP.

The Mercedes CLA is known as a style rebel, pushing the boundaries of automotive design and the way we look at a four-door vehicle. And while Mercedes has impressed the world with the four-door mini coupe, they didn’t stop at the design – they’ve continued to push the boundaries of marketing with the CLA-Class as well. Japanese artist Yasuaki Onishi was recently commissioned to sculpt the Mercedes CLA using a floating sheet technique that has become Onishi’s signature.
Speaking about his CLA sculpture, Onishi stated that “until now my works of art have been reminiscent of mountains, but this time I wanted to use a more materialistic object as the basis for my sculpture. Normally I stack cardboard boxes and cover them with a polyethylene film that is suspended in mid-air on sheer threads. Afterwards the boxes are removed and the film stays where it was. The CLA has something organic about it, a natural, aerodynamic shape that allows it to offer the air little resistance.”
In order to create his version of the CLA, Onishi spends five days filling a hot glue gun with black glue sticks, then uses it to cover fishing line that is connected to a sheet covering the Mercedes. Once the process is completed, the car that had been raised up is lowered, while the sheet remains in place and leaves behind only a silhouette.
It is already being said that the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the best car in the world – it is the most technologically advanced car on the road with cutting edge safety features and the perfect blend of classic yet sporty design. But how do you market such a vehicle? How do you design a campaign that does such a car justice.
Under the title “The new S-Class. Vision accomplished.”, Mercedes’ flagship model will be presented to the world as the global benchmark for luxury motoring. Focusing on what the S-Class Mercedes stands for as an icon of future mobility. The worldwide 360-degree campaign will center on print advertisements, a TV spot, an interactive web special and extensive social media activities. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart will support the campaign with an exclusive special exhibition dedicated to the history of the S-Class. Advertising to the fashion world, the S-Class will be featured alongside Chinese super model Sui He.
For a look at the new S-Class print campaign, skip below to the photo gallery.
“The new S-Class embodies our leadership aspirations like no other model. It marks the beginning of a new era of modern luxury and safety in cars”, observes Dr Joachim Schmidt, Member of the Management Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Sales & Marketing.
Self-assured and progressive in character, the campaign focuses on the unique image of the new S-Class and the numerous innovations it embodies. The Saloon is showcased in an early-morning setting, in which it is gently caressed by the first rays of the rising sun. The look underscores the dawning of a new automotive age while at the same time emphasising the vehicle’s highly dynamic design in a sparse urban scenario. The four print motifs have been appearing in newspapers, magazines and national dailies since the end of June. On TV, the S-Class will be presented as the best car in the world. The numerous innovative comfort and safety features, which will provide an all-new driving experience, will be at the heart of the “Visions” spot, which will be shown throughout Germany from July.
Extensive social media activities
Mercedes-Benz had already successfully laid the foundations for the new campaign with a wide range of social media activities timed to coincide with the world premiere of the S-Class in May 2013. The teaser communication included design sketches and vehicle photos, followed by a live stream of the world premiere in Hamburg with wide-ranging reporting on Facebook and www.mercedes-benz.com. On its international Facebook page alone, Mercedes-Benz gained more than 18 million contacts, testimony to the enormous interest the social community shows in the new S-Class.
Interactive web special to bring the new S-Class to life
The interactive web special brings selected highlights of the new luxury saloon to life at www.mercedes-benz.com/s-class. These include the ENERGIZING massage function based on the hot stone principle, the PRE-SAFE® impulse assistance system, which reduces the risk of injury in a head-on collision, MAGIC BODY CONTROL, the world’s first suspension with “eyes”, and the internet-based and therefore particularly up-to-date Live Traffic Information service. Visitors to the web special can download their “Management Summary” of the S-Class highlights in pdf format. The web special will be available as a desktop, tablet and smartphone version.
Communication on all channels around the globe
The classic advertising measures are to be supported by comprehensive CRM and retail marketing activities, for example, with the emphasis on directly targeting customers. Dealers will receive an extensive toolbox that will allow them to design and execute exclusive VIP customer events, which showcase the S-Class in an extraordinary setting in an elegant, timeless and emotional way. A special “Innovations” section has been integrated into the sales literature in order to highlight the numerous new technologies to best effect.
In view of the S-Class’s history as a technological trailblazer of automotive development, Mercedes-Benz Classic will be supporting the campaign with numerous activities. A brochure relates the luxury saloon’s history covering all the model series to date, for example, while a 2014 Classic calendar presents impressive motifs from various eras. A special exhibition at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart from 18 June until 3 November 2013 will also pay tribute to the unique phenomenon of the S-Class. Numerous exhibits and accompanying information will present the S-Class family from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.
The S-Class is also integrated into the sponsorship activities. It featured in the appearance by Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG at this year’s Cannes film festival, for example, and is currently starring alongside Chinese top model Sui He in the new key visual promoting Mercedes-Benz’s worldwide involvement in the fashion world. Under the creative direction of Carine Roitfeld, the former editor-in-chief of French VOGUE magazine, and art director Stephen Gan, among other things co-founder of the New York V Magazine, photographers Max von Gumppenberg and Patrick Bienert have created a visual motif with a beguiling, dynamic allure. An optical illusion illustrates a delightful interaction between car and model, with the viewer gaining the impression that Sui He is holding the S-Class tenderly on her hand, blowing it a kiss.
Mercedes-Benz’s creative agency Jung von Matt is responsible for designing and realising the marketing campaign. The web special has been produced by online agency Scholz & Volkmer. The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be available from dealers in Europe from 20 July 2013.
Mercedes-Benz is a global brand, no matter where in the world you travel, no matter how remote, there is a good chance you’ll see a Mercedes on the street or off-road. But different parts of the world call for different vehicle features, Some Mercedes need to handle heat, like the 130 degree Death Valley temperatures we saw this week, or freezing cold temperatures of -40 degrees that are like those experienced in Norwegian winters and some need to stay dry in some of the wettest places on earth. But Mercedes doesn’t make a vehicle specific to each climate, so how do they do it?
Watch the video below to see how a Mercedes car is designed and tested to ensure that each and every model can handle the demands of not just one climate but all.
Heat: The test bench of the heat tunnel features an array of 32 lamps designed to simulate the sun’s powerful rays by generating up to 1200 watts per square metre over an area measuring 8 x 2.5 metres. In extreme cases, the tunnel can reach temperatures of up to 60 degrees Celsius – as hot as Death Valley or the Sahara. With the infinitely variable “hot road” function, it is even possible to reproduce the effect of warm asphalt on a summer road.
Rain: The development engineers can arrange for up to 2400 litres of water per hour to pour down on a vehicle. But it’s not just the volume of rain that can be varied – the size of the drops can also be pre-set. A simulated tropical storm can be used to check whether a car is watertight overall and whether the windscreen wipers are functioning properly.
Cold: The cold tunnel can generate temperatures down to minus 40 degrees Celsius, for example, to test a vehicle’s heating system. As soon as the thermometer drops below freezing, the facility switches to “cold lighting” as conventional neon lamps cannot withstand frost. At temperatures below freezing, the pre-cooled spray water turns into snow and the metal floor becomes as slippery as an ice rink.
Wind: The huge fan is capable of simulating winds speeds of up to 265 km/h. Even at a wind speed of 100 km/h you are no longer able to stand upright. The fan is mounted on massive steel springs to protect the facility’s electronics from the slightest vibration.
Lewis Hamilton is a 28 year old Mercedes AMG F1 driver and world champion that dates a Pussycat Doll, making him the perfect spokesman for the new Mercedes A45 AMG. He’s in the right age range of those looking to buy the hot hatch, he’s a good driver and he clearly has good taste.
This is Hamilton’s first year for the Mercedes AMG F1 team, coming off a six year run with McLaren, and Mercedes-Benz is taking full advantage of their partnership. Since he signed with Mercedes, Hamilton has been promoting the newest products in the AMG line. After he starred in an A45 AMG ad with fellow Mercedes AMG F1 driver Nico Rosberg (video posted below), Lewis again took out the smallest AMG model to show that “big emotions can fit in small packages.”
The Mercedes A45 AMG sprints 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h), an impressive feat for a hot hatchback. Hamilton compares the A45 AMG to a Formula 1 car, saying the throttle responses in both cars are similar. It’s an exaggeration no doubt, but doesn’t it make you want to get behind the wheel and test it for yourself.
A 45 AMG TV Commercial “Apparition”
The new Mercedes A45 AMG may, in some circles, be known as ‘the Beast, but is the 355 bhp entry level AMG more powerful than the BMW M135i and Volkswagen Golf GTI? Check out the hot hatchback battle below to see who is victorious. Don’t have time to watch the video, skip below to find out which brand brought home the victory
Spoiler Alert: The unquestionable winner of the hot hatch group was the Mercedes A45 AMG, it’s more stable, more comfortable and is like a mini rocket ship with it’s explosive power. Coming in at a distant second to the A45 AMG, the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which is the bargain of the group, outperforming the more expensive BMW M135i.
Our friends across the pond posted a video review of the CLS Shooting Brake and we thought it was worth sharing with you. According to CEO Dr. Dieter Zetsche: “Any memorable machine is equal parts art and science.”, functional and fun at the same time. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive circled the Nürburgring Nordschleife (“north loop”) in a record time of 7:56.234 minutes. Therefore, the electric AMG super sports car is at the same time the first electrically-powered series production vehicle, which masters the legendary race track in under eight minutes. The record time of the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive was notarially certified. Two weeks after the first overall win for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in the 24 Hours Nürburgring, a further member of the SLS AMG family impressively demonstrates its potential on the most difficult race track worldwide.
“Mercedes-AMG impressively shows the potential of the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive with the new record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Mercedes-AMG is the first vehicle manufacturer which makes it possible to circle the Nordschleife in under eight minutes with an electrically-powered series production vehicle. This record run is another proof for our constant innovative vigour,” according to Ola Källenius, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
“For the first time, an electrically-powered series production vehicle circles the Nürburgring Nordscheife in under eight minutes. The record for the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive in 7:56.234 minutes on the Nordschleife shows the special position of our innovative and unique drive solution. With the extremely efficient battery technology deriving from Formula 1, four electric motors positioned close to the wheels, the individual wheel torques “AMG Torque Dynamics,” the SLS eSound and our ambitious “AMG Lightweight Performance” design strategy, the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive generates a breathtaking sensation unlike any other model out on the road,” according to Tobias Moers, Head of Overall Vehicle Development and member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
The SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive, with which Mercedes-AMG set up the record on the 20.832 kilometres long traditional race track in the Eifel, corresponds to the series version, which celebrates its launch in June 2013. The currently strongest AMG high-performance car has four electrical motors with a total output of 552 kW (751 hp) and maximum torque of 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft).
The gullwing car is therefore advancing to become the strongest and fastest electrically-powered series production vehicle in the world. The SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in a mere 3.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).
A new dimension of driving performance – the AMG brand pledge is fulfilled to remarkable effect by the outstanding performance dynamics, which come courtesy of AMG Torque Dynamics and are made possible by the wheelselective all-wheel drive. The most “electrifying” gullwing model ever has been developed in-house by Mercedes-AMG GmbH. The extremely powerful highvoltage battery for the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is the result of the collaboration between Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth in the UK and is setting the pace in energy density, power density and efficiency. Here, the British Formula 1 experts were able to draw on their extensive experience with KERS hybrid concepts.
The car’s agile response to movements of the accelerator pedal and the linear power output are a source of pure delight: unlike with a combustion engine, the build-up of torque is instantaneous with electric motors – maximum torque is effectively available from standstill. The spontaneous torque build-up and immense power delivery without any interruption in traction on the one hand are combined with completely vibration-free motor running characteristics on the other.

All-wheel drive with AMG Torque Dynamics offers new-found freedom
Four motors, four wheels – the intelligent and permanent all-wheel drive of the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive guarantees driving dynamics of the highest calibre, while at the same time providing the best possible active safety. Optimum traction of the four driven wheels is therefore ensured, whatever the weather conditions. According to the developers, the term “AMG Torque Dynamics” refers to individual control of the electric motors, something which enables completely new levels of freedom to be achieved. The AMG Torque Dynamics feature is permanently active and allows for selective distribution of power to each individual wheel. The intelligent distribution of drive torque has a beneficial effect on driving dynamics, handling, driving safety and ride comfort. Each individual wheel can be both electrically driven and electrically braked in accordance with the specific driving situation, thus helping to
The AMG Torque Dynamics feature boasts a high degree of variability and individuality by offering three different driving modes:
Manufaktur hand finishing at company headquarters in Affalterbach
Mercedes-AMG has installed a dedicated Manufaktur hand-finishing section for electric vehicles at its headquarters in Affalterbach for final assembly of the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive. The electrically powered gullwing model is assembled and readied for operation at a total of seven different stations. The entire logistics process is based in Affalterbach, too.
Production of parts such as the exterior and interior initially takes place at the Mercedes-Benz production facility in Sindelfingen. In Affalterbach, highly trained workers take charge of assembling the axles, electric motors, transmissions and cooling system components. Particular care is taken with the installation of all high-voltage components, such as the liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery, the accompanying cables, inverter and control units, and the onboard charger. Needless to say, the utmost standards of safety are applied during all work on high-voltage components. The operational check and extensive final inspection at the end ensure that the manufacturing and product quality offered by the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is of the very highest order.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive celebrates its sales launch in June 2013. The purchase price for Germany (incl. 19% VAT):
The SLS AMG Electric Drive is currently not planned for sales and distribution in the United States.
The Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG, the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series, the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, and a Mercedes E 63 AMG compete against Michael Schumachers F1 “Silver Arrow” in the High-Performance Demonstration on the famous Nurburgring North Loop.
The race starts with an A 45 AMG driven by Bernd Mayländer, followed by an E 63 AMG driven by Karl Wendlinger, Nico Rosberg in an SLS AMG Black Series and Bernd Schneider with the SLS AMG GT3. The last car – the Formula 1 Silver Arrow with Michael Schumacher starts and tries to ride across the finish line at the same time with all the other Mercedes-AMG cars.
Light and shadow, force and grace: when opposites fuse together, they create something unique, like the new Mercedes E 63 AMG. With the performance-orientated AMG all-wheel drive 4MATIC and the particularly powerful output of 430 KW (585 hp), the S-Model sets new standards.
The new 2014 E63 AMG 4MATIC now features a redesigned, performance-oriented AMG all-wheel-drive system as standard equipment and is also available as an especially powerful SModel with output of 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The 5.5-liter AMG V8 Biturbo continues to be the benchmark of efficiency: No other competitor in this segment offers this combination of maximum performance and low fuel consumption. Permanent all-wheel drive is standard on all U.S. models – which also feature a power increase from 518 hp to 550 hp with a peak torque of 531 lb-ft. With this step Mercedes-AMG now for the first time offers powerful passenger cars with an all-wheel-drive system designed for vehicle dynamics. The 2014 E63 AMG 4MATIC goes on-sale in the U.S. this summer.
With the introduction of the new custom-tailored models, Mercedes-AMG offers its customers even more individuality than before. The 2014 E63 AMG 4MATIC is more powerful and sports a more dynamic outfit than all its predecessors: Even at first glance the new AMG design philosophy is immediately apparent. The new “twin blade” radiator grille and a new “A-wing” in the AMG front fascia define the exclusive appearance. As before, the top-of-the-line E-Class AMG model is available as a sedan and wagon. Also adding significantly to the new models’ appeal is the marked improvement in the price-performance ratio: E63 AMG 4MATIC customers now get even more power, better vehicle dynamics and a more extensive list of standard equipment.
The new product logic also benefits the CLS63 AMG: Like the E63 AMG 4MATIC, the CLS63 AMG is available as an S-Model and with the performanceoriented AMG all-wheel-drive system 4MATIC as standard. The addition of the E63 AMG and the CLS63 AMG means there are now also two all-wheel-drive passenger car models available from Mercedes-AMG besides the successful ML63 AMG, GL63 AMG, and G63 AMG SUV’s. Additional models equipped with the performance-oriented AMG all-wheel-drive system 4MATIC such as the CLA45 AMG will follow this year.
Ola Källenius, CEO Mercedes-AMG GmbH: “The philosophy of Mercedes-AMG is driving performance. With the new model variants of the E63 AMG 4MATIC and CLS63 AMG 4MATIC it is also becoming clear that we offer our customers even more individuality than before. In particular the S-Models represent the most attractive offer in the competitive segment and score decisive points with a significant improvement in their price-performance ratio: The most power and the highest torque in the segment, the new performance-oriented AMG allwheel- drive system, the new design and a significantly more extensive standard-equipment package are among the outstanding strengths of the new high-performance automobiles from Affalterbach. With the innovative allwheel- drive S-Models we will reach new customers and markets.”
Tobias Moers, head of overall vehicle development and member of the management board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH: “We have significantly honed the dynamic profile of the 2014 E63 AMG 4MATIC and the CLS63 AMG 4MATIC with the exclusive S-Models. Only AMG offers customers power and torque figures of such magnitude. Our AMG 5.5-liter V8 engine is still the world’s most efficient V8 built in series production. With the newly developed performance-oriented AMG all-wheel-drive system 4MATIC we not only deliver the best acceleration figures in the competitive segment, we also offer our customers markedly better vehicle dynamics than ever before.”

If there is one thing that is certain, it is that drivers and their teams love the Mercedes SLS AMG. They love it so much that Mercedes AMG dedicated a two and a half minute video discussing why their customer teams would drive nothing other than the GT3. In the event that you don’t speak German, turn down your speakers and watch the video for the amazing day and night footage of the SLS AMG GT3 out on the in the pits and on the track.
There may be no purer driving experience than taking a Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series to the U.K.’s own Hardnott Pass in the Lake District. If you’ve never been and have no plans to jet there and rent a Black Series Mercedes of your own anytime soon, then you’re in luck because Britain’s own Autocar Mag teamed up with Dunlop Tires to film the entire Hardknott Pass driving experience. Driven by Steve Sutcliffe, the C63 AMG Black Series aggressively attacks the many hairpin turns that would unnerve even the most confident of drivers. Watch for yourself.
Ever wonder how a tuned Mercedes C63 AMG would fare against the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4? On a recent airstrip run, the two went head to head, with a Weistec tuned Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series showing off the superiority and power of its M156 V8 engine when doing battle with a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.
Keep in mind, the Lamborghini Gallardo is not your average sports car. It pairs a six-speed automated manual transmission with a 5.2-liter direct injection V-10, combining to offer 542 horsepower distributed to all four wheels. This results in a 0 to 60 mph sprint time in the low 3-second range and low 11’s in the 1/4 mile. Remember those numbers when you watch the video of the supercharged C63 AMG putting the LP-560-4 to shame.
Enjoy.

When left to their own devices, AMG’s engineers hold nothing back. They set to work on the all-new CLA—already a tenacious, technological powerhouse—and turned it into an all-wheel drive rocket: the all-new CLA45 AMG. Powered by a hand-built turbocharged four-cylinder pumping out 355-hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, the CLA45 is good for a 4.5 second 0-60 mph sprint and all the sound and fury that AMG is famous for.
It began with the Mercedes-Benz SL550, then the Mercedes SL63 AMG and now, the V-12 SL65 AMG. With a 6.0-liter biturbo twelve-cylinder engine, the Mercedes SL65 AMG outputs 621-hp and a massive 738 lb-ft of torque, propelling you from zero to 60 in a mere 3.9 seconds while on your way to a limited 186 mph top speed. In this video walk around, Rob Moran, Product Manager at AMG, discusses the Mercedes SL Roadster’s most powerful version ever.
