2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Spy Photos Emerge

Rumors indicate a diesel-electric hybrid M-Class is in the works, a strong possibility considering a gas-electric hybrid M-Class

Although we still have a good amount of time to wait before the next generation Mercedes M-Class is unveiled, spy photos of the 2012 model have begun to surface.  As you would expect from a model roughly two years away from its unveiling, the ML is heavily disguised, leaving us to speculate what exactly is in store for the next version of the SUV.

Early rumors indicate a diesel-electric hybrid M-Class is in the works, a strong possibility considering a gas-electric hybrid M-Class should be arriving later this year.  Other rumors indicate the model could receive a plug-in variant – one that features an 80hp (60kW) electric motor paired with a twin-turbocharged and direct-injected 3.5L V6 while boasting the ability to travel up to 18 miles on electric power alone.

At this point it’s far too early to state specifics of the 2012 Mercedes ML, but it’s safe to say the number one task Mercedes engineers face in developing the next M-Class is deciding how best to implement alternative drive systems and subsequently better the SUV’s fuel efficiency.

We’ll keep you posted as new details of the 2012 Mercedes M-Class are released

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet Spied with Top Down

There's no clear confirmation when the model will be unveiled– rumors place its premier at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall

Now that the new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is officially on sale here in the U.S., it’s time to start the countdown for the next soon-to-be-released model.  That model, of course, is the 2010 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet, the drop top version of the Mercedes E-Class Coupe that debuted back in February.

Unfortunately, there’s no clear confirmation as to when the model will be officially unveiled – some rumors place its premier at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall; others think it will be next March in Geneva – but whatever the case, here are the latest nearly undisguised photos of the model.

As always click any photo to enlarge, and stay tuned for more information on the 2010 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet as it becomes available.  Also, after checking out the pics below, head over to FastestCar.com where you can check out the full E-Class Cabriolet spy photo gallery (thanks Andrus).

2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Spied with Minimal Camouflage

New spy photos have emerged depicting a scantily clad Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG

New spy photos have emerged today depicting a scantily clad Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, which should be celebrating its unveiling in the not too distant future. Not surprisingly, it doesn’t look much different than the 2010 Mercedes E-Class fitted with the AMG sport package that we detailed back in January, but of course, the true fun of the E63 lies not in its design, but rather in what’s under the hood. Power from the model’s hand-built AMG 6.2-Liter V8 is expected to come in around 525 hp, while the rest of the E63’s mechanics are expected to receive a major overhaul.

We will of course keep you posted when the official specs are released; in the meantime, keep scrolling for a few more Mercedes E63 AMG spy photos, then head over to GlobalMotors.net where you can check out the full, action-packed gallery.

New Mercedes-Benz Gullwing Sports Coupe Spied in a Slightly more Revealing Outfit

Visible is a single louvre grille, reminiscent of the original 300SL Gullwing, as is a moveable spoiler in the rear

Despite the masking, this is by far the best look yet at what will be the new Mercedes Gullwing. Visible is a single louvre grille, reminiscent of the original 300SL Gullwing, as is a moveable spoiler in the rear. The overall contours of the model are also much more visible, due to the removal of the false body panels seen in the past.

According to AutoWeek, the new Mercedes Gullwing model – still yet to be named – is slated for a two-year production cycle of about 6,000 units, with pricing set to be “several hundred thousand dollars” (earlier reports indicated the model would be priced around $130,000). Power was originally thought to be supplied by AMG’s 6.3-Liter V8, but it’s now being speculated that the V12 from the SL65 AMG Black Series could be called on instead (which would obviously account for the price difference).

We’ll keep you posted as any new details of the Mercedes Gullwing are revealed; in the meantime, keep scrolling for a few additional photos (click to enlarge), then head over to AutoWeek for the full, action-packed gallery.

New Spy Photos of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class

As has been the case with all prior 2011 CLS spy shots, the model is still heavily disguised, with little design traits revealed

Yet another round of spy photos have emerged today showcasing the likely-to-arrive-in-2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. As has been the case with all prior 2011 CLS spy shots, the model is still heavily disguised, with little design traits revealed about the next four door coupe. However, a few key areas to take note of include the somewhat visible front grille, similar to the one found on the current CLS, as well as the rear exhaust which features a rectangular design similar to that of the new E-Class.

We will of course keep you posted as new details of the 2011 CLS are revealed; in the meantime, keep scrolling to see a few additional shots of the next CLS-Class, or head over to Autoblog.nl for the full, action-packed gallery.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate Spy Photos Emerge

The 2010 Mercedes E-Class has been officially unveiled, it's only a matter of time before the estate E-Class variant makes its debut

Now that the 2010 Mercedes E-Class has been officially unveiled, it’s only a matter of time before the estate variant of the new E makes its debut as well. While we’re waiting for that momentous event to occur, here’s a few new shots showcasing precisely what we have to look forward to from the upcoming model. Yes, there is still quite a bit of masking covering its various design attributes, but with a little imagination, you can make out to a large degree the amount of extra space the wagon holds over its sedan counterpart.

Not being much of a wagon connoisseur, I’ll keep my thoughts on the E-Class Estate’s design to myself. However, from a functional standpoint, I’m sure it will score very high on the practicability scale – assuming, of course, that you need to store a prodigious amount of crap in the back of your vehicle on a daily basis.

2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS Prototype Caught Cold Weather Testing

The latest look at the next Mercedes CLS shows the model undergoing cold weather testing on the frigid terrain of Sweden

Kicking things off this chilly Monday morning comes the latest look at the next Mercedes CLS – one that shows the model undergoing a bit of cold weather testing on the frigid terrain of Sweden. As you’ll see, the model is heavily disguised, meaning there’s not much you’ll see in terms of design; however, there is a shot of the model being followed by the current C-Class, giving us at least some indication of the model’s proportions.

Aside from that, it will likely still be a little while before any substantial design elements of the next CLS are revealed. Engines will almost certainly be the ones found on the new E-Class, and pricing should come in a little more than the E-Class (as is the case with the current model).

We’ll keep you posted as new details of the next Mercedes-Benz CLS are uncovered; in the meantime, keep scrolling for a few more spy photos of the model (click any pic to enlarge), then head over to GlobalMotors.net for the full Mercedes CLS gallery.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet Spied Testing With a Soft Top

It's now January, and it appears Mercedes has instead opted to take the more conventional soft-top approach

As you may remember, back in November spy photos emerged showcasing what appeared to be the new 2010 Mercedes E-Class Coupe in hard-top convertible form. It’s now January, and it appears Mercedes has instead opted to take the more conventional soft-top approach, as evidenced by these latest Mercedes E-Class cabrio shots.

Seeing it without any camouflage, I must admit that I really like the new design. Maybe its my imagination, but I feel like the altered rear roof line and the added surface area created by the folding roof compartment make the back end of the vehicle much more appealing. I’d even go so far as to say that of any of the new E-Class designs, either coupe or sedan, this is my favorite.

Obviously I’ll reserve final judgment until the model’s official unveiling, but as of now, I think it’s a fantastic improvement over the outgoing CLK. To see the new Mercedes E-Class Cabrio and judge for yourself, keep scrolling for a few additional photos (click any to enlarge), then head over to GlobalMotors.net where you can check out the entire, action-packed gallery.

And to Andrus: many thanks for the tip; we sincerely appreciate it.

Aerial Spy Shots of the New Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

Spy photos of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe show a panoramic glass roof as an available option

You’ve already seen it from a number of nearly undisguised angles, and today, here’s yet another look at the forthcoming Mercedes E-Class Coupe – this time, from the air. As you can clearly see, available as an option on the model will be a panoramic glass roof, a welcome feature for anyone not in the market for a cabriolet who still craves the feeling of partially open air driving.

Aside from the roof, nothing is revealed about the model that hasn’t already been seen in past spy photos (see here and here). If, however, any new details of the new E-Class Coupe are revealed, we will of course keep you posted.

Numerous Spy Photos of the New Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe Emerge

As you'll see, the similarities between the E-Class Coupe and sedan are abundant, with a notable difference up front

Now that the official photos of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class have been leaked, it’s only fitting that photos showcasing the new E-Class Coupe nearly undisguised have began appearing as well.  As you’ll see (and as we all expected), the similarities between the E-Class Coupe and sedan are abundant, with a notable difference up front being the sportier grille with corresponding Mercedes star.  As of now it’s being said that the grille won’t be available on the E-Class sedan – instead only on the coupe variant – but personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing it made available for the next-generation E63 AMG.

In the back, the coupe’s overall shape again coincides with the sedan’s, but again, there’s a few key differences.  The taillights, while similar to the traditional E-Class, are unique, featuring a slightly larger design. This, no doubt, is to help compliment the coupe’s slightly more bulbous rear end, while other differences include the altered roof line and rear window that are synonymous with all coupes derived from sedans.

To see the new model and judge for yourself Mercedes designers’ work on the next CLK (aka, E-Class Coupe), you can view two photos galleries of it by visitingAutocar and WorldCarFans.

Enjoy.

And to our friend Monk:  many thanks for the tip my good sir; we sincerely appreciate it.

2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS Prototype Spotted In The Wild

Like the current CLS, it's evident the 2011 CLS will retain its E-Class underpinnings, while a larger rear window is also visible

Ladies and gentlemen, here, in all its cladded glory, is your first peek at the next-generation 2011 Mercedes CLS-Class. Although the front remains out of site in each of the pictures, the back and sides are all clearly visible, and they reveal… well, they don’t reveal a whole lot. Like the current CLS, it’s evident the 2011 CLS will retain its E-Class underpinnings, while a larger rear window is also visible. Other than that, however, it’s still far too early to tell what lay in store for the next four-door coupe’s styling.

As for engine variants, expect the usual V6 and V8 suspects along with a hybrid option, while topping out the range will undoubtedly be a finely tuned AMG variant.

We’ll keep you posted as new details of the 2011 Mercedes CLS are released; in the meantime, keep scrolling for a pair of spy photos highlighting the model (click to enlarge), then head over to GlobalMotors.net where you can find the full 2011 CLS gallery.

Enjoy ladies and gentlemen.

And before I go, a special thanks to Andrus for the tip.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Spied Nearly Naked

We're not in Hustler territory yet, but we're easily in Maxim land, as the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has revealed itself

We’re not in Hustler territory yet, but we’re easily in Maxim land, as the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has revealed itself in all but the tiniest of body cladding.  Why we need to wait until next year for the model’s official unveiling is a mystery, as renderings, spy photos and the Concept FASCINATION study have revealed both its outward and inner appearance in remarkably clear detail, but alas, we do, and as such, you still have a fair amount of time to wait until the E-Class makes its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.

In the meantime, keep scrolling for a pair of spy photos highlighting the 2010 Mercedes E-Class, both of which enlarge when you click them. Then, to kill a few more minutes of your Tuesday morning workday, head over to GlobalMotors.net, where you can find the nearly nude 2010 Mercedes E-Class gallery in its entirety.

Enjoy ladies and gentlemen.
