The exclusive appointments of the Brabus 850 “iBusiness” also include a sporty-elegant designer outfit for the body, forged Brabus “PLATINUM EDITION” 21-inch wheels, a high-performance braking system with carbon-ceramic discs and an exquisite, two-tone all-leather interior.

Mercedes Brabus S-Class iBusiness Engine

V8 Biturbo high-capacity engine that produces 625 kW / 850 hp (838 bhp), top speed of 217 mph

With the presentation of the “iBusiness” at the IAA in Frankfurt the new Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo high-capacity engine also celebrates its world debut. In best Brabus tradition it follows the old but still true wisdom that nothing can substitute for displacement other than more displacement. The new engine is based on the latest Mercedes 63 AMG eight-cylinder four-valve engine and is capable of producing 625 kW / 850 hp (838 bhp) and reaching a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

For the increase in displacement to 5,912 cc (361 cu. in.) the Brabus motor engineers brought their entire know-how amassed in the more than 35 years of the company’s history to bear. Numerous engine components had to be newly developed and the engine block, cylinders and cylinder heads had to be extensively re-machined in the company engine-building shop.

Increasing the eight cylinder bores to 99 millimeters (3.89 in.) allows the use of special forged pistons with modified surface contours to achieve an even more efficient combustion. They are connected by billet piston rods to the precision-balanced billet crankshaft with a stroke of 96 mm (3.77 in.).

The two special Brabus turbochargers with larger compressor unit and modified exhaust manifolds are of course also a major factor in the enormous increase in power by 195 kW / 265 hp (261 bhp) over the stock engine. Other performance-enhancing upgrades on the exhaust side are the metal catalysts with 75-millimeter-thick (2.95 in.) downpipes and the Brabus stainless-steel sport exhaust whose pipe connectors have a diameter of 76 millimeters (3 in.).

The Brabus installations on the intake side are immediately apparent upon opening the hood: in addition to the fiery-red Brabus design accents on the engine, the Brabus Gold Heat Reflection sheathing for the intake and charge-air tubes right away catches the eye. This measure also contributes to the high-performance experience provided by this engine, as does the newly designed Brabus 850 intake manifold for the eight-cylinder four-valve engine. It includes a larger air filter box with enlarged intake cross section, which gets its air supply via a special air duct in the hood. Also part of the package is the carbon-fiber intake pipe with larger diameter, which was positioned behind the new Brabus fascia directly exposed to the relative wind.

Special mapping for the engine management system programmed on the Brabus high-tech engine test rigs and during road tests coordinate all high-performance components perfectly. This benefits not only the gigantic power yield, but also the outstanding throttle response and refinement of the engine across the entire rev range.

Mercedes Brabus S-Class iBusiness

The performance data of the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo high-capacity engine are correspondingly impressive: the V8 produces its peak power of 625 kW / 850 hp (838 bhp) at a low 5,400 rpm U/min. The equally potent peak torque of 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) is limited in the car to 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft) to protect the powertrain as a whole. It is available steadily on a plateau between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. Brabus exclusively uses high-performance lubricants from technology partner MOTUL. A Brabus limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent is available as an option.

In conjunction with the modified AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission the Brabus 850 “iBusiness” delivers a performance only attained by a very few full-blooded and significantly lighter sports cars. Sprinting from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds is just as unrivalled in this class of vehicles as is the electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). The transmission either sorts the gears automatically or allows drivers to shift manually using the Brabus aluminum shift paddles on the steering wheel.

Mercedes Brabus S-Class iBusiness

This unique driving sensation is accompanied by an exhaust note that can be either subtle or thrilling. The Brabus sport exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve offers drivers the option to actively control the exhaust note at the push of a button on the steering wheel. It determines whether the luxury sedan operates in a subtle and quiet “Coming Home” mode or announces its V8 power full-throated to the world in the “Sport” position to the enjoyment of the driver.

It goes without saying that Brabus performance kits are available for all Mercedes S-Class engines. The plug-and-play Brabus B50 – 520 PowerXtra CGI performance kit for the 4.7-liter eight-cylinder Biturbo engine of the S 500 uses special mapping for injection and ignition as well as a moderate increase in boost pressure to bump the power output by 65 horsepower.

After the conversion the engine’s power output jumps from 335 kW / 455 hp (449 bhp) to 382 kW / 520 hp (512 bhp) and peak torque grows to 820 Nm (605 lb-ft). This propels the four-door car from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds. The Brabus Vmax unit that is part of the engine tuning allows limiting the top speed electronically to 250, 275 or 300 km/h (155, 171 or 186 mph).

Brabus is one of the pioneers in developing innovative, functional multimedia systems that are stylishly integrated into the automobile. The 1.0 generation of the Brabus “iBusiness” concept building on the Apple iPad was presented in the Mercedes S-Class of the W/V 221 model series in 2010.

Now, several evolutionary stages and one vehicle generation later, the new Brabus 850 “iBusiness” celebrates its world debut. In the refined ambiance of a Brabus fine leather interior crafted to perfection down to the last detail the passengers have the latest generation of Apple computer technology for global communications and entertainment at their disposal.

The Brabus “iBusiness” multimedia system incorporates an iPad mini tablet into the rear compartment. To this end the Brabus designer developed a custom center console, which is installed between the two individual seats in the rear, and is equipped with a docking station. The docking station not only secures the table computer safely in place when not in use, it also recharges the computer’s battery.

The iPad mini is not only for communication with the outside world. The integration of the “iBusiness” concept into the vehicle’s on-board electronics also allows all functions of the S-Class COMAND system to be controlled from the iPad mini.

In addition, the mobile computer is connected to a Mac mini computer via the InCar-Hotspot. The Mac mini serves as the mainframe. The ultra-compact yet particularly powerful computer is housed safely in an electrically operated custom-designed drawer in the trunk of the S-Class. The Brabus programmers developed the innovative Brabus Remote app to facilitate communication between the individual modules of the multimedia equipment.

Of course there is also a special Brabus app for iPad, iPhone and iPod. This software is part of the state-of-the-art communications concept of the luxury sedan as well.

A 15.2-inch color TFT display with an aspect ratio of 16:9 serves as the central monitor for the iPad minis and the other devices of the multimedia equipment. The electrically deployed monitor is integrated elegantly into the headliner made from the finest leather. At night the headliner can be illuminated by a multitude of fiber-optic lights to resemble a starry sky. In addition, the standard screens on the back of the front head restraints can be used to watch TV via DVBT or other programming sources.

High-speed USB 3.0 ports integrated into the rear compartment allow connecting additional devices such as a digital camera to the Mac mini. The Brabus 850 “iBusiness” uses state-of-the-art wireless technology to connect to the internet.

The music comes from an Apple iPod touch of the latest generation. With 64 gigabytes of memory it offers enough storage capacity for more than 14,000 tracks. The sound is reproduced by the sound system of the S-Class.

The perfectly finished Brabus fine leather interior can be crafted in the company upholstery shop in any desired color and in any upholstery design from high-end leathers and Alcantara. The selection of wood and carbon-fiber inlays in virtually any desired color and with a variety of surface finishes is just as extensive.

At the extremely high speeds the Brabus 850 “iBusiness” effortlessly attains the aerodynamic properties are of utmost importance. To minimize negative lift on the front and rear axle while creating an optimal balance the Brabus designers have developed a body conversion kit with sporty and elegant style. The components are manufactured in OEM quality from high-end PUR plastics and carbon fiber, and lend the luxury sedan a dynamic visual upgrade and optimize aerodynamic efficiency.

The Brabus front fascia replaces the production bumper in its entirety. It captivates not only with its striking looks that includes large stylishly integrated air scoops that optimize the supply of cooling air for the radiators, engine and front brakes. Its shape was optimized in the wind tunnel and consequently also reduces negative lift on the front axle, which plays a role in the further improved handling stability at high speeds.

The side of the each front fender is upgraded with a Brabus design element made from clear-coated carbon fiber, with a choice of matt or high-sheen finish. The integrated Brabus logo is optionally available in a backlit version whose illumination is activated by operating the remote control or by pulling on a door handle.

At the same time the LED lights integrated into the underside of the Brabus rocker panels also light up. The underfloor lighting makes approaching the car at night safer and helps to avoid stepping into a pothole or puddle.

The Brabus aerodynamic-enhancement concept was designed for all current S-Class models with short or long wheelbase. It is rounded out by the Brabus rear separation edge, which is also available in a version made from clear-coated carbon fiber, and the rear fascia with integrated diffuser and tailor-made cutouts for the Brabus sport exhaust system.

Also contributing to the striking designer look and the even more dynamic and safer handling of the Mercedes S-Class are the tailor-made Brabus Monoblock alloy wheels with diameters of 19, 20, 21 or even 22 inches.

Mercedes Brabus S-Class iBusiness Wheel

Mercedes Brabus S-Class iBusiness Wheel

Forged Brabus “PLATINUM EDITION” wheels in size 9Jx21 on the front axle and size 10.5Jx21 wheels in the rear are available as a 21-inch tire/wheel combination. Customers can choose from three different designs: mirror-finished Monoblock VI wheels with six double spokes, Monoblock F cross-spoke wheels or the new Monoblock R wheels where the spoke pairs are arranged in two different plains. Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA high-performance tires in sizes 255/35 ZR 21 in the front and 295/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle were selected as the optimal tires.

A Brabus 22-inch tire/wheel combination for the S-Class celebrates its world debut at the 2013 IAA. The Brabus Monoblock G “Platinum Edition” forged wheels feature a combination of size 9Jx22 wheels and size 255/30 ZR 22 tires on the front axle with size 10Jx22 wheels and size 295/25 ZR 22 tires in back, and make full use of the available space below the wheel arches.

To further enhance the high level of dynamic handling of the high-performance luxury sedan Brabus has developed a special control module for the air suspension of the S-Class. It lowers the ride height of the Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo “iBusiness” by some 15 millimeters (0.6 in.) without impairing the outstanding ride comfort.

Mercedes Brabus S-Class iBusiness

Maximum stopping power is even more important than exceptional acceleration and thus the Brabus high-performance braking system is part of the technical highlights of this vehicle. It features anthracite-colored six-piston aluminum fixed calipers with golden Brabus logo and vented carbon-ceramic discs measuring 380 x 34 millimeters (14.9 x 1.3 in.) on the front axle. The carbon-ceramic discs were developed in cooperation with brake specialist Brembo, and are manufactured from an entirely new material. The new structure of the disc and the material drastically increases thermal diffusivity, resulting in a much higher performance of the braking system compared with conventional systems.

The Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo “iBusiness” is built to order. The multimedia system and all other Brabus tuning components are available for all current S-Class models. Brabus engine tuning is also available for all other engine variants.

Brabus Tunes the Mercedes ML63 AMG and the GL63 AMG

The Brabus B63S - 700 Widestar can output a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph), a peak power output of 515 kW / 700 hp (690 bhp)

German tuner, Brabus is now offering two high performance SUVs, the Brabus B63S – 700 Widestar.  Based on the ML 63 AMG and the GL 63 AMG, the Brabus SUVs can output a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph), a peak power output of 515 kW / 700 hp (690 bhp), an electronically limited torque of 960 Nm (708 lb-ft).  All with an attractive widebody version with 23-inch high-tech forged wheels.

Click here to skip directly to the photo gallery.

With the new B63S – 700 performance kit BRABUS significantly upgrades the potential of the 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine in the ML 63 and GL 63. And like the familiar B63-620 performance kit, which boosts power output of the eight-cylinder to 456 kW / 620 hp (611 bhp), the new and markedly more powerful version is backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100.000 kilometers/62,000 miles. It goes without saying that this performance kit will soon also be available for the Mercedes G 63 AMG.

At the heart of the BRABUS B63S – 700 engine conversion are the newly designed peripherals of the turbocharged eight-cylinder four-valve engine. While the intake and charge-air pipes immediately catch the observer’s eye thanks to their BRABUS Gold Heat Reflection insulation, the other important details of the conversion remain invisible from the outside. They include the two special BRABUS turbochargers with larger compressor unit, which generate a higher boost pressure than the production turbos.

The production exhaust system is replaced with a free-flow metal catalyst system that features downpipes with a diameter of 75 mm (3 in.). In addition, a BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve is available for both vehicles. They give the driver the option of choosing between a discrete “Coming Home” mode and a decidedly sporty exhaust note at the push of a button on the steering wheel.

All high-performance components were perfectly matched to each other and to the new mapping for injection and ignition by the BRABUS electronics specialists and engineers using state-of-the-art test rigs and test drives on public roads and racetracks. The result is a perfect symbiosis of environmentally compatible exhaust emissions in line with current EURO V standards, durability beyond reproach and outstanding power yield.

With a power output of 515 kW / 700 hp (690 bhp) at 5,300 rpm the BRABUS B63S – 700 engine in the ML 63 surpasses its origin by up to 129 kW / 175 hp (173 bhp) – depending on whether the car was delivered with or without Performance package. The GL 63 with an identical power output of 515 kW / 700 hp (690 bhp) adds 105 kW / 143 hp (141 hp). Just as impressive in both SUVs is the increase in peak torque. Both tuning versions produce 960 Nm (708 lb-ft) of torque from a low 2,000 rpm. Peak torque was limited electronically to protect the drivetrain.

The combination of ultra-powerful BRABUS B63S – 700 engine and AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission achieves performance levels that previously seemed more likely for a sports car than for an SUV. From rest the all-wheel-drive car based on the ML 63 accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds. At 4.6 seconds the heavier GL takes just two tenths of a second longer. The BRABUS Vmax unit, which is part of the engine conversion, limits the top speed electronically to 300 km/h (186 mph) to protect the tires.

These tremendous speeds also necessitated modifications to the aerodynamics, tires and suspension. The BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody version for both SUVs is impressive not only on account of its fender flares on the front and rear axle.

To reduce negative lift on the front axle the BRABUS designers developed an additional front spoiler and a rear spoiler as its aerodynamic counterpart.

In addition, the front of the refined ML 63 AMG is accentuated with striking add-on components for the side air inlets. The rear receives some added sporty character with a central diffuser for the production bumper. This bodywork component can be combined with the production exhaust or with the two ceramic-coated dual designer tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust.

The BRABUS WIDESTAR fender flares add six centimeters (2.4 inches) to the width of the M-Class at the front and rear axle. The GL even adds eight centimeters (3.1 inches) in width. This not only results in a more bullish appearance, which is further complemented by add-on components for the front and rear fascia. The WIDESTAR fender flares also create space for extremely wide BRABUS king-size wheels with diameters of up to 23 inches.

Wheels in size 10Jx22 for the BRABUS WIDESTAR version are available in five designs: Monoblock VI, E, G “Platinum Edition”, Q and R. The most exclusive version on offer features giant BRABUS Monoblock R “Platinum Edition” forged wheels in size 11Jx23. Thanks to state-of-the-art manufacturing technology these wheels represent a unique combination of lightweight construction and maximum strength. The matching high-performance tires in size 315/25 ZR 23 for the ML and in size 305/30 ZR 23 for the GL are supplied by BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

A special BRABUS control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension of the ML 63 AMG or GL 63 AMG lowers the ride height of the high-performance SUVs. This not only adds further visual pizzazz to the all-wheel-drive car, but as a result of the lowered center of gravity also further improves dynamic handling.

BRABUS is one of the leading addresses in the world for exclusive automotive interior design. The company upholstery shop crafts interiors from the finest leathers and Alcantara, tailor-made to customer specifications.

As a striking complement to these interiors BRABUS also offers wood and genuine carbon-fiber trim sets in any desired color and with a variety of surface finishes. BRABUS aluminum shift paddles for the steering wheel add sporty highlights in the cockpit. Another particular specialty of the refinement specialist from Bottrop is the BRABUS teakwood floor for the trunk of the two SUVs.

GAD Tuned Brabus Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe

Mercedes AMG Built it, Brabus modified it and GAD made it insane

The Brabus Bullit C-Class Coupe, based on the C63 AMG Coupe and fitted with a Bi-turbo V12 engine from a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, it delivered a total of 720hp.  It doesn’t get much better than that.  But it does get better, a lot better. The aftermarket specialists at GAD-Motors unveiled their latest pet project, an upgrade program for the Brabus Bullit C-Class Coupe.

2014 Mercedes S-Class by Brabus

German super tuner Brabus transforms the 2014 S-Class into one of the world's fastest luxury sedans

German tuning extraordinaire Brabus has just unveiled their first tuning package for the 2014 S-Class. They’re the first tuner to offer up a power package for the flagship Mercedes, and as usual they don’t dissappoint.

Offering two power packages – one for the S500 and one for the already monsterous S63 AMG – Brabus proved that they can make the best even better.

Brabus Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Brabus Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The Brabus B50 (S500) receives a HP boost from its standard 450 HP to an impressive 520 HP – nearly that of the standard S63 AMG. This addition of horsepower and modifications allows Brabus’ version of the S500 to spring from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 4.2 seconds with a top speed that can be set at 155, 168 or 186 mph.

As for what Brabus had up their sleeves for the Mercedes S63 AMG, Brabus decided on two power upgrades. There’s the Brabus B63 that outputs 650 HP and 1,000 Nm of toque, two figures that are without question impressive, to say the least.  As if that weren’t enough, the second power upgrade (known as the Brabus B73) takes power a step further, upping output to a mind bending 730 hp (yes, I did say 730 HP) along with 1,065 Nm of torque. Both S63 AMG cars with the Brabus power upgrades can reach its electronically limited 202 mph with ease.

Brabus Mercedes-Benz S-ClassBrabus Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Brabus Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Brabus didn’t stop at the engine though, adding additional modifications to the interior and exterior of the 2014 S-Class. Add-ons like a tweaked ABC system with 15mm lowered ride height; 19, 20, or 21-inch Brabus wheels that come in different designs options and colors; a Brabus styling kit; and of course a luxurious interior package with leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber are all on the menu.

Check the gallery below to indulge in luxurious power at its finest.

Mercedes GL63 AMG by Brabus

Mercedes GL63 AMG by Brabus offers additional power, exterior and interior upgrades

When Mercedes first revealed they’d be producing the GL63 AMG, many questioned whether or not that much power is really needed in a full-size SUV weighing some 5,800 lbs. But let’s face it – can a twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 32-valve V-8 that puts out 550 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque really be wrong in any circumstance?  While you may not be hitting the Nurburgring with it on a daily basis, there’s always that moment after you drop the kid’s off at soccer practice, hit the pedal and feel the 4.8 second 0-60 speed whip you back in your seat that you become completely convinced that the GL63 AMG has in every way earned the AMG badge.

As you can imagine, if some were skeptical of an AMG version of the GL, they’re likely to be even more skeptical when hearing that Brabus is coming out with a tuned version of the powerful land yacht, which they’re calling the Brabus B63 620 Widestar. But as you’ll see, Brabus, as always, did not disappoint.

Brabus first tweaked the 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine using their BRABUS B63 – 620 performance kit, the same kit that is also used on other AMG 63 eight-cylinder models. The engine is now capable of producing 456.3 kW / 620 hp (611 bhp).  While not a huge gain, there’s no such thing as too much power.

Where the Brabus B63 620 Widestar really shines, however, is on the outside, where Brabus added more muscular features for an even sportier finish. The AMG SUV now sports massive fender flares in front and back, fits up to 23″ forged wheels, boasts larger air inlets in the front, and can now be lowered by up to 1.2″.  In the rear, a new stainless-steel sport exhaust system makes the back look equally as great as the front.  The system is not just for the looks, however, as it also manages to produce a heart racing V8 exhaust note.  It’s a sound so pulse quickening that if it weren’t exceptionally high safety rating on the vehicle, it would easily get you out of carpool duty, as the other soccer moms will cower in fear at thought of their children strapped in to such a monstrously powerful vehicle.

For days when the ominous V8 sound isn’t what you want (which really should be never), an integrated butterfly valve also lets you choose a particularly quiet “coming home” mode as well.

From there, Brabus turned their attention to the new Mercedes GL63 AMG’s interior, offering stainless-steel scuff plates with back-lit BRABUS logo as well as a combination of the Mastik leather and Alcantara leather elements that have been stitched with perfect precision. This precision can be seen especially well when looking at the perfect squares sewn throughout the design pattern.

I urge you to check out the photo gallery for yourself to get a better look at the incredible details that went into the design and check out the video showing exactly why we love the GL63 AMG so much.

Mercedes CLA Subtly Tuned by Brabus

Brabus unveiled their first tuning program for the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA, tastefully designed with subtle tweaks

Brabus unveiled their first tuning program for the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA. Tastefully designed with subtle tweaks, the most notable updates are the quad-tailpipe exhaust system and the large Monoblock alloy wheels.  This is the first CLA tuning program by Brabus but likely not the last as they’ve had a recent history of putting out a lighter tuning program before releasing the fully overhauled version.

Interior photos of the Brabus CLA were not released but we have not doubt that Brabus is offering a bespoke interior designed and created by their own upholstery shop.

According to sources, the Mercedes CLA 250 can optionally be equipped with a PowerXtra kit that pushes the engine to produce an extra 34 HP (25 kW) for a total of 245 HP (180 kW) and 385 Nm (284 lb-ft) of torque – an increase of 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

The Brabus B63S can go 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and 0-124 mph in only 10.8 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph

Premiering at the Geneva Motor Show next week will be the latest tuning program from Brabus – the B63S for the Mercedes CLS63 AMG. This will be in addition to the SL65 AMG Brabus 800 that will be on display in Geneva.

Under the hood is a 5.5-liter eight-cylinder Biturbo engine capable of outputting 537 kW / 730 hp  and 1,065 Nm of torque, enough to propel you to a top speed up to 217 mph.  How’d they do it?  Brabus developed the program using state of the art bench technology to design two special Braubs turbochargers with larger compressor units, both of which generate a higher boost pressure than the production turbos.

Additionally, a low-temp water to air intercooler in conjunction with the Brabus Gold Heat Reflection system all serve to improve the power yield because of the lower charge-air temps, improving durability as well.  Brabus also remapped the ECU and added 75 millimeter wide downpipes, all topped off with a stainless steel sport exhaust system.

Put all these pieces together, and the Brabus B63S is a monster, capable of accelerating 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and 0-124 mph in only 10.8 seconds.  And while the stock CLS is electronically limited to a mere 155 mph, the Brabus B63S has a top speed of 217 mph. Due to the higher rear-axle load of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake however, the top speed for the shooting brake is limited to 186 mph (out of consideration for the tires).

Matching the performance, the exterior of the B63S has been redefined with sporty fender attachments with backlit BRABUS logo and components that are all manufactured from especially light yet high-strength carbon fibers.  Two finishes are available – matte or high gloss.

Monoblock wheels with diameters of 19 and 20 inches are available, with the largest tires supplied for the 20-inch alloys in size 255/30 ZR 20 for the 9Jx20 wheels on the front axle and in size 295/25 ZR 20 for the 10.5Jx20 wheels in the rear.

Inside, the custom-tailored Brabus interior notes extensive use of  Mastik leather and Alcantara. Rounding off the interior is a speedometer with 250 mph dial and rear-seat tables attached to the backs of the front seats; aluminum components such as pedal pads, door lock pins and shift paddles for the steering wheel; and your choice of either carbon fiber or wood trim(s).

If all of these upgrades aren’t enough, you can also opt for the custom-tailored BRABUS multimedia concept – including optional Apple iPad integration and a host of technology features.

You can check out more of the Brabus B63S Mercedes CLS63 AMG in the photo gallery below, or see it in person at the Geneva Motor Show.

Mercedes SL65 AMG Brabus 800 Roadster Revealed

The Mercedes SL 65 AMG Tuned by Brabus produces 588 kW/800 hp, 1,420 Nm of torque & a top speed of 217 mph

Brabus, the Mercedes tuner widely known in the automotive world for building some of the world’s most powerful passenger cars, has just announced that they’ll be displaying their new Brabus 800 Roadster at the Geneva Motor Show next week.  Based on the Mercedes SL 65 AMG, the Mercedes two-seater is powered by a 12-cylinder Biturbo engine that’s been updated with the Brabus T65 RS tuning program, bumping output to 588 kW / 800 hp (788 bhp) of power and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm.  This results in an insane 0-62 mph sprint time of 3.7 seconds and a mere 9.8 second jaunt to hit 124 mph. If those numbers weren’t enough to impress you with the Brabus SL 65 AMG, how about an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph?  Putting that speed in terms you may relate to, at yesterday’s Daytona 500, top speeds hovered just over 200mph.

In addition to the engine upgrades, Brabus offers equipment updates as well, including plenty of carbon-fiber body parts that help make the car more aerodynamic finished in your choice of matte or glossy. The Brabus SL rides on a set of Monoblock R “Platinum Edition” forged wheel wrapped in 255/30 ZR 20 tires (front) 305/25 ZR 20 tires (rear) high performance tires.

There is also a special control module that lowers the roadster about one inch (25mm) – while it may seem inconsequential while driving standard highway speeds, hit the track at 200 mph+ and you want to be as aerodynamically efficient as possible..

Lastly, Brabus has upgraded the Brabus 800 Roadster’s interior with all of the finest and tasteful finishing available.

Tuner: Brabus 800 Conversion for Mercedes G65 AMG

588 kW / 800 hp, 1,420 Nm and a Brabus wide-body version for the new 12-cylinder off-roader Mercedes G 65 AMG

Brabus has unveiled their Brabus 800 engine conversion, a powerful performance upgrade for the new Mercedes G 65 AMG at the Quatar Motor Show. Outputting 588 kW / 800 hp and 1,420 Nm instead of the standard-spec 450 kW / 612 hp the G65 can sprint 0-62 mph in just 4.2 second. The Brabus 800 G65 is electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) and can be fitted with the Brabus WIDESTAR wide-body – complete with 23-inch Brabus forged wheels available in various versions set the tuned off-roader far apart from the rest. The electrically adjustable Brabus Ride Control suspension offers a perfect symbiosis of excellent ride comfort and safe, agile handling.

The Brabus 800 engine conversion unleashes the power reserves inherent in the 6.0-liter V12 Biturbo engine. To this end the Brabus engine specialists developed a high-tech Biturbo system. The exhaust manifolds custom-designed for the G 65 AMG with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers optimize throttle response and produce a higher boost pressure than the production turbos. Four water-to-air intercoolers arranged under the Brabus carbon-fiber hood scoop ensure lower charge-air temperatures. This benefits power yield and durability even under extreme conditions such as in the desert. The optimized engine air supply is provided by two air filter boxes in the front fenders.

On the exhaust side there is a Brabus stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts and a sound management system courtesy of a butterfly valve in the exhaust. The high-tech exhaust is controlled with a button on the steering wheel. The V12 can purr discreetly in “coming home” mode or shout out its exhilarating power in the sport position. The sport exhaust adds some visual excitement with its two dual tailpipes – with regular or black chrome finish – exiting on both sides in front of the rear wheels.

The newly programmed engine electronics with special mapping for injection and ignition coordinates the perfect interaction of the high-performance components while at the same time ensuring compliance with EURO V emission standards. The high-performance lubricants for the entire powertrain are supplied by technology partner MOTUL.

The Brabus 800 engine produces 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at a low 5,500 rpm and an even more impressive peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft), already on tap from 2,100 rpm. In the vehicle, peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

The vehicle performance speaks volumes: In combination with the seven-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive system the Brabus 800 WIDESTAR accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds. The top speed is limited electronically to 250 km/h (155 mph). Without the limiter the high-performance off-roader would be capable of reaching a speed of 270 km/h (168 mph).

It goes without saying that Brabus goes beyond simply tuning the engine of the G 65 AMG. The designers lend the classic G-Class body updated for 2013 an even more striking and dynamic profile with the WIDESTAR wide-body version. The front of the off-roader is characterized, among other things, by the powerfully sculpted fender flares. The Brabus front spoiler attaches to the production fascia and features integrated LED daytime running lights on the left- and right-hand side. But that’s not all: The Brabus logos integrated into both sides of the aerodynamics component are activated by pulling on a door handle or by operating the keyless-entry remote.

The new look for the front is further defined by the front grille with integrated Brabus logo and an additional panel below the radiator grille. The Brabus front-end components are also available for all G 65 AMG models without WIDESTAR conversion. The same applies to the Brabus rear fascia and the Brabus roof spoiler.

The fender flares front and back add 12 centimeters (4.7 inches) to the width of the G-Class body. Integrated LEDs illuminate the running boards of the G 65. They are also activated by pulling on a door handle or by operating the keyless-entry remote. The integrated air vents and the Brabus attachment components on the doors add further striking highlights when viewed from the side.

The widened wheel wells provide space for Brabus forged wheels with a diameter of 23 inches. State-of-the-art manufacturing technology ensures that these wheels represent an ideal combination of lightweight design and maximum strength. There are three Brabus “Platinum Edition” 11Jx23 wheels to choose from: In addition to the popular Monoblock E evo and Monoblock F “Platinum Edition” designs, there is now also the Brabus Monoblock R “Platinum Edition” forged wheel. This design has nine double spokes arranged in two matt titanium and fully polished plains. It is fitted with high-performance tires in size 305/35 R 23 from Brabus technology partners Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA.

Another Brabus high-tech feature is the Ride Control suspension developed in cooperation with technology partner BILSTEIN. An aluminum button sporting the Brabus logo on the center console lets the driver manually choose between two setups for the two-way electrically adjustable shock absorbers. In comfort mode the off-roader provides exemplary ride comfort that even surpasses the production car. At higher speeds and for a spirited driving style the firmer sports setting offers more dynamic handling and even further increased safety reserves.

Furthermore, the Brabus Ride Control suspension features automatic damper adjustment. If the vehicle sensors detect that certain parameters such as speed, lateral acceleration and steering angle might lead to a critical handling situation, the system autonomously switches to the firmer sports setting in the blink of an eye. The sportier damper setup further improves the directional stability of the all-wheel-drive vehicle. In return the CAN control unit also recognizes when the driver reverts to a more moderate driving style. In that event the system automatically switches back to the comfort position.

The interior of the G 65 AMG can be custom-tailored to the owner’s personal preferences in the Brabus upholstery shop. The choice of colors for the especially softy and breathable Brabus Mastik leather and the fine Alcantara is virtually limitless. Just as boundless is the selection of upholstery designs and the variety of exclusive wood or carbon-fiber inlays. In this area as well Brabus can fulfill special color requests and designs, including wood inlays in an especially exclusive yachting design.

The Brabus product range also includes stainless-steel scuff plates with backlit Brabus logo and further attractive accessories such as high-quality velour floor mats and Brabus aluminum pedals and door-lock pins.

Top Stories of 2012

A compilation of some of the most interesting stories we brought you in 2012

Welcome to 2013!  We’ve swapped out our 2012 calendars for our 2013 ones and we are ready to move forward and start a new year.  But, before we do that, we wanted to take one last look at what 2012 had to offer.  We’ve compiled a list of some of the top stories of the year and posted them below with links to the complete articles and photo galleries for your enjoyment.

Happy New Year!

2013 Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake Official Release: With the new CLS Shooting Brake, Mercedes-Benz is once again setting an example when it comes to creativity of design, and as such highlighting its leading role in this area: in terms of its proportions, the new CLS is quite clearly a coupé, but with five doors and a roof which continues through to the rear, it promises some remarkable new possibilities. The idea of the four-door coupé – successfully introduced in 2004 with the first CLS and long imitated in the meantime – has now been taken to new heights and to innovative effect. The result is automotive independence at its most beautiful. Click Here.

Vorsteiner Mercedes CLS63 AMG Photos Revealed: Vorsteiner’s Mercedes CLS63 AMG will feature an all-new lightweight pre-preg carbon fiber aero package coupled with forged wheels and a cat back exhaust system. In the photos you can see the new front apron, redesigned side skirts, modified rear diffuser and the boot lid spoiler. All these parts feature all-new lightweight pre-preg carbon fiber. Click Here.

FAB Design Mercedes SLS Gullstream: Quite possibly the most radically built Mercedes SLS  to date, FAB Design’s widebody SLS tuning program, dubbed the Gullstream, remains at the top of our list. Originally revealed more than a year ago, I recently saw one of these beauties while on a family vacation at our hotel and had to give you a second look. Even better looking in person, the FAB Design SLS Gullstream is a widebody kit that features an all new front bumper, fenders, side skirts, rear quarter panels, rear bumper and rear diffuser. A lip spoiler made of carbon fiber is probably the most subtle of all the upgrades while the roof receives a non-functional air scoop. Click Here.

Helly Hansen Flow Down Parka: At the heart of the Flow Down Parka is… you guessed it… down.  Down, as you probably already know, is easily one of warmest, most insulating materials on the face of the earth.  But the problem with most down outerwear is that it’s overly bulky.  Down is stitched inside baffles, and the result is an overly puffy coat that makes you look the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters – not exactly an endearing style trait.  Click Here.

Mercedes-Benz S600 Becomes a Luxurious Guardian by Topcar: Whether you’re a Russian businessmen or an unloved policy-maker, chances are you are not cruising the streets in a standard S-Class.  Instead you’re likely opting for something with a little, no a lot, more protection that still offers all the luxuries you’re used to.  According to Topcar, secrecy is one of the relevant aspects of security, which is why, externally armored vehicles look like everyone else’s run-of-the-mill luxury car. Click Here.

Tune it! Safe! Brabus Mercedes A-Class at Essen Motor Show

Debuting at the 2012 Essen Motor Show is the 8th specialty vehicle to come from the Tune it! Safe! program

Debuting at the 2012 Essen Motor Show was 8th specialty vehicle to come from the Tune it! Safe! program.  Tune it! Safe! aims to promote responsible and safe tuning, and this year’s safe tuning example was the Mercedes-Benz A250 BlueEFFICIENCY.

The A-Class sits on 19-inch alloy wheels with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 2 tires and has been given a Brabus body kit including a front fascia, a rear diffuser and a roof spoiler. The A250 is also sporting a police livery, as well as a light bar for the roof and four tailpipe exhaust.

Inside, the driver’s and passengers are treated to a few minor updated, custom floor mats, metallic pedals and custom controls for the lighted roof bar. Powering the Tune it! Safe A-Class is a Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that has been tweaked to output 245 hp and a peak torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft).

The A250 sprints 0-62 mph in a mere 6.2 seconds, while its top speed sits at 155 mph (250 km/h).  Even with these updates, the car is rather efficient, managing 6.1 liters per 100 km (38.6 US mpg) and emitting 143 grams of CO2 per km.

2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG by Brabus B63 Outputs 620 hp

The new Brabus WIDESTAR wide-body ML63 AMG has been tuned to reach a top speed of 186 mph

Brabus refines the Mercedes ML 63 AMG. The spectacular WIDESTAR wide-body from Brabus outputs 456.3 kW / 620 hp (611 bhp) of power and a peak torque of 820 Nm (604 lb-ft) to give it a top speed of up to 300 km/h (186 mph), proving there is no such thing as enough power. The Brabus engine specialists have developed performance tuning for the ML63 AMG 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine named the B63-620 performance kit. The engine tuning kit is available in various versions for vehicles with or without AMG performance package.

The tuning involves the integration of a plug-and-play Brabus PowerXtra module into the engine electronics. This auxiliary control unit optimizes power yield as the result of a new mapping for injection and ignition as well as a moderate increase in boost pressure.

The perfect complement to the Brabus engine tuning for the ML 63 AMG is a stainless-steel Brabus sport exhaust system with butterfly valve. It gives drivers the option of switching between a discreet and quiet “coming home” mode and a decidedly throaty V8 exhaust note in “sport” mode at the push of a button. The Brabus sport exhaust features two ceramics-coated design exhaust embellishers on either side for an even more striking rear appearance.

ML 63 models delivered ex-factory without performance package gain an extra 69 kW / 95 hp (93 bhp) with Brabus B63-620 tuning; the performance version adds 45 kW / 63 hp (60 bhp). Both models produce a peak torque of 820 Nm (604 lb-ft), available between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm.

The Brabus-tuned SUV accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The Brabus Vmax unit that is part of the performance kit can be programmed to allow an electronically limited top speed of 280 or 300 km/h (174 or 186 mph).

At these speeds aerodynamic properties are crucial. To account for this fact, the Brabus designers have developed an additional spoiler for the production fascia. It is made from clear-coated carbon fiber and reduces lift on the front axle. A rear spoiler is available as its aerodynamic counterpart.

The front of the refined ML 63 AMG adds more appeal with striking attachments for the side air inlets. A centrally placed diffuser made from clear-coated carbon fiber adds even more sporty character to the rear.

The Brabus WIDESTAR fender flares on the front and rear axle add six centimeters (2.5 inches) to the width of the top-of-the-line M-Class. These flares give the vehicle a more bullish stance that is rounded out with the attachment components for the sides of the front and rear fasciae. But that’s not all: The WIDESTAR fender flares also make room for extremely wide Brabus king-size tires with diameters of up to 23 inches.

The largest possible tire/wheel combination for the Brabus WIDESTAR version features size 10Jx22 wheels. Customers can choose from five wheel designs, Monoblock VI, E, G “Platinum Edition”, Q and R. The most exclusive option is the Brabus Monoblock G “Platinum Edition” forged wheel. Thanks to cutting-edge manufacturing technology it offers an unparalleled combination of lightweight design and maximum strength. The corresponding high-performance tires in size 295/30 ZR 22 are supplied by Brabus technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

A special Brabus control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension of the ML 63 AMG lowers the ride height of the high-performance SUV. This not only gives the all-wheel-drive car an even more striking appearance, the lowered center of gravity also further improves handling.

Brabus is one of the top addresses in the world for exclusive automotive interior design. The company upholstery shop uses the finest leather and Alcantara to craft custom-tailored interiors for the ML 63 AMG to suit each owner’s personal taste.

Wood and genuine carbon-fiber trim sets in any desired color and with a variety of surface finishes are available to round out the ensemble. A speedometer with 360-km/h dial (225 mph) is also part of the product program.

BRABUS Widestar G63 AMG Unveiled Ahead of Essen Motor Show

Power for the Brabus Widestar G63 AMG comes from the twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter and outputs 620 HP (456 kW)

In case the new G63 AMG wasn’t enough to leave you salivating, Brabus has unveiled their upgrade for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG.  You can read on or you can skip straight to the video that flashes back and forth between the standard G63 AMG and the Brabus Widestar version.   The video is a bit on the long side but gives a great comparrison between the two.

The Brabus G-Class will be on display at this year’s Essen Motor Show, starting on Saturday. Power for the Brabus G63 AMG comes from the same twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine, although it’s been upgraded to output 620 HP (456 kW) – 76 HP more than the standard 544 HP (400 kW). Torque has also increased to 605 lb-ft (820 Nm) over the standard 560 lb-ft (760 Nm) – a 45 lb-ft increase.

Electronically adjustable ride control suspension with comfort and sport modes and an adjustable valve-controlled exhaust for a louder or quieter sound have also been added to the Brabus Widestar G63. Other additions include LED illumination for the side steps, a new set of 23-inch alloy wheels, satin silver color accents in the side body mouldings, rear bumper fascia and an aerodynamic front spoiler in silver with integrated LEDs.

Not to be left out, the interior receives new leather upholstery and upgraded materials that are available in a wide variety of colors.

Brabus Unveils Their Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake

Brabus Unveils Their Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake

Sporty-elegant styling paired with aerodynamic efficiency is the trademark of all BRABUS body kits. As always, the body components for the new CLS Shooting Brake were developed in the wind tunnel. They are manufactured from flexible Pur-R-Rim high-grade plastics or from carbon fibers depending on the version.

The CLS 250 and 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY diesel models and the CLS 350 and 500 BlueEFFICIENCY with production aerodynamics outfit can be upgraded with the BRABUS front spoiler, the BRABUS front fascia attachments with integrated LED daytime running lights, the sport fenders and the BRABUS side skirts with integrated entrance lights.

For vehicles equipped with AMG sport package BRABUS offers a striking BRABUS front spoiler lip that attaches to the underside of the front fascia. The CLS 63 AMG can be refined with an additional front spoiler and fender attachments with backlit BRABUS logo. Their clear-coated carbon-fiber construction lends the sport wagon full-blooded racing looks.

BRABUS Monoblock wheels in sizes ranging from 8.5Jx17 to 10.5Jx20 also play a major role in the exclusive BRABUS looks of the new CLS Shooting Brake. The OEM-quality alloy wheels are available in six different designs. The most exclusive version on offer features BRABUS Monoblock F, Q or R designs with a diameter of 20 inches. The latest addition to the BRABUS wheel family is the BRABUS Monoblock R wheel with especially innovative design. Two sets of five double spokes are arranged in two plains. While the inner set of spokes is painted a “Liquid Titanium” shade, the outer spokes are diamond-polished and afterwards sealed with a smoke-colored clear lacquer, lending the wheel its very own character. The largest tires supplied by BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA for the 20-inch version come in size 255/30 ZR 20 in front and in size 295/25 ZR 20 for the rear axle.

The BRABUS suspension options are specifically calibrated to the use of sporty low-profile tires. They were developed in tandem with technology partner BILSTEIN. The lineup ranges from BRABUS sport springs to complete suspensions and the BRABUS suspension module that lowers the ride height of cars equipped with the semi-active AIRMATIC air suspension system by about 35 millimeters.

BRABUS offers the world’s largest program of performance tuning for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. The ECO PowerXtra D4 performance kit bumps the power output of the CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY by 22.8 kW / 31 hp and boosts peak torque to 560 Nm (446 lb-ft).

For the CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY there is BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6S tuning. Thanks to its plug-and-play design the auxiliary control unit can be installed by any authorized Mercedes-Benz workshop and any BRABUS center of competence in less than 45 minutes.

As a special feature this high-tech performance tuning system allows the driver to influence the power yield through the selection of the transmission program of the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic gearbox. In Eco mode only peak torque is increased, from standard 620 Nm to 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm. This selection leaves the maximum power output unchanged. If sport mode is activated or gears are shifted manually, the increase in peak torque is accompanied by a boost in power output from 195 kW / 265 hp (261 bhp) to 230 kW / 313 hp (308 bhp) at a low 3,600 rpm. The tuned turbodiesel accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.9 seconds. Top speed is limited electronically to 250 km/h (155 mph).

It goes without saying that BRABUS performance tuning is also available for the gasoline-powered versions of the CLS Shooting Brake. The BRABUS B50 – 500 performance tuning was developed for the V8 Biturbo engine of the CLS 500 BlueEFFICIENCY. As the name indicates, this tuning kit produces 368 kW / 500 hp (493 bhp) and a peak torque of 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) and in conjunction with the BRABUS Vmax unit gives the wagon a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).

Two ultra-powerful tuning options are available for the top-of-the-line CLS 63 AMG model. Both BRABUS power upgrades for the 5.5-liter eight-cylinder Biturbo engine comprise an auxiliary control unit for the engine electronics and an additional water-to-air intercooler powered by an auxiliary electric pump. In both cases the lower temperature of the charge air benefits not only power yield but also engine longevity even under extreme operating conditions. After the installation of the BRABUS B63 – 620 version the driver commands 455 kW / 619 hp (610 bhp) of power at a low 5,500 rpms. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 900 to 1.000 Nm (663 to 737 lb-ft), on tap between 2,250 and 3,750 rpm. A sprint time from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) of just 4.2 seconds is just as unique for a wagon as is the top speed of 320 km/h (200 mph) that the car attains in conjunction with the BRABUS V/max unit.

As an ideal complement to the engine tuning, BRABUS offers a sport exhaust system with butterfly valve for the CLS 63. At the push of a button on the steering wheel the driver can switch between a discrete and quiet “Coming Home” mode and “Sport,” which produces a decidedly sporty exhaust note. The stainless-steel exhaust system also adds some visual highlights with its two beautifully styled ceramic-coated dual tailpipes.

For all other CLS engines BRABUS offers fully stainless-steel quad sport exhaust systems. The precision-calibrated exhaust systems also optimize power yield and produce a sportier exhaust note.

A BRABUS clutch-type limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent optimizes traction and handling in fast corners on all CLS versions.

All BRABUS engines are operated with MOTUL high-performance lubricants and like all BRABUS components are backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS limited tuning warranty of three years up to 100,000 kilometers / 62,000 miles (see BRABUS warranty conditions, updated November 2006).

Exclusive interior design that leaves nothing to be desired is yet another BRABUS specialty that comes to life in the company upholstery shop. The product lineup for the new Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake ranges from attractive accessories to custom-tailored interiors crafted from especially soft, breathable and highly durable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara. Scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo, a speedometer with 340-km/h or 400-km/h dial (211 or 250 mph) and the tables for the rear compartment that attach to the back of the front seats add sporty highlights as do decidedly sporty aluminum components such as pedal pads, door-lock pins and shift paddles for the steering wheel. High-end clear-coated carbon-fiber inlays for dashboard and center console in any desired color are also part of the program as are wood inlays in any desired color and with any desired grain.

To top it all off, BRABUS offers a custom-tailored multimedia concept for the five-door CLS – including the integration of an Apple iPad if desired.

2013 Mercedes-Benz A-Class by Brabus

Brabus unveiled their latest tuning creation based on the all new Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback

German tuner, Brabus, unveiled their latest creation based on the all new Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback.  The first images of the shiny red hatchback riding on a lowered sports suspension and 19-inch alloy wheels in the classic Brabus design show us what will be possible for the most current generation of the A-Class that will soon begin arriving in showrooms across Europe

Brabus tells Carscoop that there is more to come, and while they didn’t go into any further details, it’s safe to say that among other parts, we should expect to see an aero body kit, custom exhaust systems, more alloy wheel options, power kits and select interior upgrades such as scuff plates and custom leather upholstery.

In the meantime, to wet your appetite, view the photo gallery below and remember to click for hi-resoution photos.

Brabus Tuning Package for Mercedes SL Roadster

Kit includes a dramatic exterior, 20" alloy wheels, pro suspension tuning, power increase to 520 hp (512 bhp) for top speed of 186 mph

BRABUS today unveiled their latest tuning progam for the sixth generation Mercedes-Benz SL. Included in the kit is a dramatic designer outfit, alloy wheels up to 20 inches in diameter, pro suspension tuning for even more agile handling, a power increase to 520 hp (512 bhp) / 382 kW for a top speed of up to 300 km/h (186 mph) for the 500 SL, and interior options custom-tailored to the owner’s personal style.

Sporty-elegant body styling components, tuned in the wind tunnel for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, are the BRABUS designers’ specialty. With or without AMG Sport package: Custom-tailored front fasciae, add-on components for the side sills and rear fasciae were developed for both body styles of the SL. There is also a BRABUS rear spoiler and side air vents for the front fenders. For a perfect fit all components are manufactured in OEM quality from high-grade PUR plastics.

Just as important for a custom look are the OEM-quality BRABUS Monoblock wheels, which can be mounted on the new roadster in four different designs and with diameters of 18, 19 and 20 inches. The largest combination to fit the R 231 model series SL features BRABUS Monoblock F, Q or R wheels in size 9J x 20 in front with size 255/30 ZR 20 tires and size 9.5J x 20 wheels with 295/25 ZR 20 tires on the rear axle. BRABUS recommends high-performance tires from Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

Brabus Mercedes SL Roadster 20" Alloy Wheel

To be able to further improve upon the already high level of driving dynamics of the new Mercedes roadster BRABUS has developed custom-tailored suspension components in collaboration with technology partner BILSTEIN. BRABUS sport springs are available for the SL 350 with conventional steel suspension. For all SL models with active ABC suspension the BRABUS suspension engineers have developed an electronic module that lowers the ride height by about 25 millimeters.

This makes the SL 500 the perfect beneficiary of even more power. The BRABUS B50 – 520 PowerXtra CGI power kit wrestles an additional 85 horsepower from the 4.7-liter eight-cylinder Biturbo engine. BRABUS recommends using fully synthetic high-performance motor oil from MOTUL.

The BRABUS PowerXtra module with plug-and-play design is integrated into the engine electronics to generate more power as a result of special mapping for injection and ignition as well as of moderately increased boost pressure. But that’s just one part of the equation. The conversion also includes an auxiliary water-to-air intercooler powered by an auxiliary electric pump. The drop in charge air temperature benefits not only power yield but also engine life even under extreme operating conditions such as in the desert, for example.

After the conversion the engine puts 520 hp (512 bhp) / 382 kW instead of the standard 435 hp (429 bhp) / 320 kW on tap, accompanied by a peak torque of 820 Nm (604 lb-ft). Consequently the two-seater accelerates to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The BRABUS Vmax unit, another component of the engine tuning, allows limiting the top speed electronically to 250, 275 or 300 km/h (155, 172, 186 mph).

A BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system with four chrome-plated tailpipes is indispensable for an SL with BRABUS high-performance engine. It is also perfect for all roadster owners longing for a sportier exhaust note and a more striking rear appearance of their two-seater. BRABUS will offer a version with butterfly valve for the SL 500 shortly. It will allow choosing between a soft and a thrillingly sporty exhaust note via a button on the steering wheel.

Brabus Mercedes SL Roadster Dual Exhaust

The BRABUS limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent can improve handling even further.

The two-seated cockpit can receive even more individual character and luxury attributes at BRABUS. The product lineup ranges from scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo and a speedometer with 320-km/h or 360-km/h dial (200 mph or 225 mph) to carbon-fiber or fine wood trim sets in any imaginable color and with a variety of surface finishes.

The company upholstery shop creates exquisite BRABUS interiors from especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara.
