Excitement over the 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class has been building over the last few months as multiple leaks have been posted. Finally, however, the SUV set to debut at teh Frankfurt Motor Show later this year has been officially unveiled. The completely redesigned M-Class offers a bold front grille, sculpted sides, wraparound taillights, 17″ – 21″ Alloy wheels and a noteable interior update.

The 2012 ML shares its platform with the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with an optional self-leveling Airmatic suspension with selective damping available, as well a new “On&Offroad” package that offers six different transmission modes to match driving conditions.

At the launch of the M-Class, there will be three different engines offered. The entry-level ML 250 Bluetec has a 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel that produces 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque.

The ML 350 Bluetec comes with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with 258 PS (190 kW / 254 hp) and 457 lb-ft (619 Nm) of torque.

The ML 350 BlueEfficiency has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that offers 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque.
