View photo gallerySpy Photographers have caught the 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class testing with the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster.
Though the Mercedes GL is heavily camouflaged, you are still able to see the larger grille, similar to that of the updated R-Class, bold front fascia and the overall larger design. The GL prototype shown in the spy photos is sporting AMG wheels and a high-performance braking system that may signify that it is a GL63 AMG but could just be a standard model with the AMG Performance Package.
Engine options are likely to include a twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8 with 435 PS (320 kW / 429 HP) and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with up to 258 PS (190 kW / 255 HP). On the other hand, the GL63 AMG is expected to use a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 with 544 PS (400 kW / 537 HP) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque.
As for the SLS AMG Roadster, it will feature a 6.3-liter (6,208cc) V8 with 571 PS (420 kW / 563 HP) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.
While the GL is does not have a scheduled unveiling, it is expected to be unveiled sometime next year with the SLS AMG Roadster is scheduled to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Look you can’t have it both ways…we’ve had a 6.208L engines being called a 6.3 for ages, you can’t call a 4.663L a 4.6!
…And what happened to the supposed German Law which MB claimed required the 6.2 to be rounded up to the higher capacity? Does this now not apply? The Porsche Boxster S/Cayman S has a 3436cc engine marketed as a 3.4…last time I checked they were a German company!
