The design of GSC’s body kit emphasizes on the AMG GT’s character as a pure sports car. This is, in essence, what a Mercedes AMG GT3 would look like, if such a thing was on the cards, which it isn’t. What is on the cards is a hard-core Black Series version which could end up looking something like this.

Tasteful Upgrades for The Mercedes C-Class

The BRABUS product range offers a host of refinement options for the interior of the new Mercedes C-Class

Stagnation means losing ground, and consequently the BRABUS engineers and designers are tirelessly at work developing new custom components for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Following the sporty and elegant aerodynamic-enhancement program for the new C-Class models coming off the assembly lines in standard specification or with AVANTGARDE or EXCLUSIVE package, there are now also sporty and dynamic bodywork upgrades for vehicles that customers ordered ex-factory with AMG body styling. In addition, BRABUS now also offers engine tuning for all current C 180 models. BRABUS Monoblock wheels with diameters of up to 20 inches, suspension options, sports exhaust systems, and exclusive interiors round out the product lineup.

Brabus

Mercedes by Brabus

Mercedes-Benz offers the new C-Class of model series W/S 205 in a variety of design and equipment lines. BRABUS already offers tailor-made bodywork components for the C-Class in standard specification and for the models of the AVANTGARDE and EXCLUSIVE lines. In addition, all model variants can also be ordered ex-factory with AMG Line body styling. To add further dynamics to the sporty lines of these bodywork components, the BRABUS design team has now also developed detachable components for this variant. They not only give the car an even sportier appearance, they also reduce negative lift on the front and rear axle at high speeds, and consequently are a factor in even further optimized handling stability. All components are manufactured in OEM quality from high-grade PUR plastics.

The markedly sportily styled BRABUS front spoiler attaches to the lower part of the AMG Line bumper. With its central spoiler blade and outer sections shaped like flaps the aerodynamic-enhancement component lends the vehicle an even more distinctive front.

Along the same lines, the rear of all sedans can be upgraded with the BRABUS rear spoiler. Yet another attractive BRABUS design component is the diffuser-look rear bumper insert that provides the perfect backdrop for the four chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS sports exhaust system.

A crucial component of the thrilling BRABUS look is constituted by the BRABUS Monoblock wheels, which can be mounted on the C-Class in various designs and with diameters of 18, 19 or 20 inches. The largest safety-certified tire/wheel combination features BRABUS Monoblock F or R alloys of sizes 8.5Jx20 at the front and 9.5Jx20 on the rear axle. The perfect high-performance tires of sizes 225/35 ZR 20 and 255/30 ZR 20 are supplied by BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

The BRABUS sports suspensions, developed jointly with BILSTEIN, are calibrated specifically to the sporty low-profiles and offer a sporty yet comfortable ride. The same applies to the BRABUS sports springs, which lower the ride height of the C-Class by about 30 millimeters and are precision-tuned to work with the production shocks. For the C-Class models equipped ex-factory with AIRMATIC air suspension, BRABUS offers a control module to lower the vehicle’s ride height.

The world’s most extensive engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz automobiles comes from BRABUS. While the performance kits for the diesel models are in the final stages of development, there are already tuning upgrades for the four-cylinder gasoline engines. Like all BRABUS components, the performance kits are backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013). BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL.

An extra 15 kW / 21 horsepower (20 bhp) for the C 180 are available under the label BRABUS PowerXtra B18.2. The plug-and-play module is adapted to the engine electronics, and boosts power output from 115 / 156 horsepower (154 bhp) to 130 kW / 177 horsepower (174 bhp). In conjunction with an increase in peak torque from 250 to 300 Nm (184 to 221 lb-ft), the sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is shortened to 8.4 seconds while top speed jumps to 230 km/h (143 mph).

The BRABUS PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit can likewise be connected to the engine electronics of the gasoline-powered C 200 model in next to no time by any specialist workshop. Like all BRABUS PowerXtra performance kits, this tuning kit was designed to reliably prevent any negative effects on the engine’s longevity as the result of the performance increase. Consequently, the performance-enhancing mapping is only activated once all parameters such as engine temperature etc. are in the green arc. Of course the engine still meets strict EURO VI emissions standards even after the installation of the performance kit.

Equipped with the BRABUS PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit, the four-cylinder turbo engine pumps out an extra 30 kW / 41 horsepower (40 bhp) and delivers 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) more torque. A maximum power output of 165 kW / 225 horsepower (221 bhp) and a peak torque of 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) logically also effect the performance on the road: with BRABUS engine tuning the C 200 accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 7.0 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 242 km/h (150 mph).

Stainless-steel BRABUS quad sports exhaust systems, with or without engine tuning, are another factor in optimizing performance. What’s more: they also produce a sporty but never obtrusive exhaust note.

The BRABUS product range offers a host of refinement options for the interior of the new Mercedes C-Class as well: the lineup includes custom accessories such as aluminum pedals and high-quality velour floor mats with BRABUS logo, as well as particularly exclusive BRABUS fine leather interiors crafted from especially soft and breathable leather and Alcantara.

Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe Now With 720 HP

German tuner IMSA has created a power package for the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe.

The aftermarket specialists used a 4MATIC all-wheel drive version and haven’t fiddled at all with the exterior design but they did replace the standard rims with their own 21-inch forged lightweight alloy wheels wrapped around in 255/35 R21 front & 295/30 R21 rear tires.

Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe

Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe

The most important change has occurred under that long hood where the V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine has gone through some software tweaks and received new sports air filters, modified x-cross central muffler for the exhaust as well as optimized turbocharged outlet, intercooler radiator and an improved air flow rate.

All these changes have increased output of the engine from the series 585 HP (430 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) to no less than 720 HP (529 kW) and a peak torque of 1,080 Nm (796 lb-ft). Performance details have not been disclosed but it should be significantly quicker than the stock car which needs 3.9 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h) and is electronically-capped at 155 mph (250 km/h).

IMSA says in the future they will roll out more tuning packages for Mercedes-Benz models, especially for those wearing the AMG badge. The S-Class Coupe will soon receive some power upgrades along with a custom aerodynamic body kit.

You Won’t Believe How Luxurious the BRABUS Business Lounge Is Inside

BRABUS has outdone themselves again, taking the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and turning it into a five-star rolling lounge

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based “Business Lounge” by BRABUS made its world debut at the at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show – fittingly so as Moscow is known for their overindulgence in high end vehicles.  So for those who don’t think the Mercedes V-Class is luxurious enough. the BRABUS Business Lounge is the way to go as BRABUS will customize the Sprinter to fit your exact desires.

Read on for details of the new Business Lounge or click here to view the photo gallery.

BRABUS has been engaged in the development of innovative, functional and stylishly integrated business systems on wheels for more than three decades. With the world premiere of the BRABUS Business Lounge based on the current Mercedes Sprinter at the Moscow International Automobile Salon, BRABUS once again demonstrates its role as a pioneer in this field.

The black van, which has also undergone an attractive exterior upgrade with a new front bumper and 18-inch Monoblock wheels with BRABUS design, impresses not only with its exclusively designed BRABUS fine leather passenger compartment with four business seats in a face-to-face conference seating arrangement and an additional third row of seats. The innovative communications concept of the vehicle integrates the passengers’ notebook or tablet computers into the media center of the vehicle independent of the technical platform.

The basis for the exclusive BRABUS Business Lounge concept is the Mercedes Sprinter with long wheelbase and high roof. The BRABUS upholstery shop fits the van with an entirely new and particularly sophisticated interior.

The eight-seater show car for the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2014 is equipped with a bulkhead behind the driver’s cabin. The interior designers have integrated four BRABUS business seats custom-developed for this vehicle into the passenger compartment that offers sufficient standing height even for tall passengers. The seats are installed in a face-to-face conference seating arrangement, offer maximum comfort, and can even be reclined to full sleeping position. In addition, all four seats offer welcome amenities such as lumbar support, massage function, heating, ventilation, and are power-adjustable with three-position memory function.

The third row of seats faces forward and consists of two individual seats with folding backrest. For times when more space for luggage or other items is needed, the seats can be removed. Passengers make their way to these seats via the aisle between the seats in front of them. To this end, the center console can be slid back at the push of a button.

The seats were covered in the company upholstery shop in the exclusive style of the BRABUS fine leather appointments with a stylish two-tone cognac and mocha combination of especially soft and breathable and yet durable Mastik leather. The sides of the seats sport a combination of Alcantara and high-gloss white surfaces. The genuine-wood floor is designed as a veneer without tongue and groove.

For a perfect and draft-free feel-good atmosphere under all climatic conditions a special climate control system was developed for the spacious passenger compartment of the Sprinter in cooperation with German OEM Eberspächer. It has a heating output of 10 kW and a cooling output of 13 kW, and is discretely integrated into the Sprinter to make it visually and acoustically unobtrusive.

The desired privacy is provided by dark-tinted glazing and eight power-operated curtains on the side and rear windows. A total of three power-retractable tables can be used for a variety of purposes. A refrigerator and a coffee maker, both located in a center console between the business seats, provide additional amenities. Eight USB 3.0 ports and three 220 volt outlets for powering the passengers’ notebooks, tablets and smartphones are located within easy reach. A total of six dimmable reading lights provide perfect lighting for perusing files, books or magazines on all seats.

An evolution of the venerable starry sky creates a very special atmosphere: the BRABUS electronics specialists have integrated an LED display measuring 180 cm x 90 cm (71 x 35 in.) into the headliner. It consists of some 2,700 color LEDs capable of displaying 12 different animations ranging from an azure sky with moving puffy white clouds to a starry night sky, and from a magnificent fireworks show to oriental and psychedelic themes. Alternatively, an ambiance lighting concept with a multitude of settings and adjustment options ensures the well-being of the occupants.

BRABUS Business Lounge based on the Mercedes Sprinter

BRABUS Business Lounge

The entire electrical system of the BRABUS Business Lounge interior is controlled via CAN bus. All commands are entered on newly developed “BRABUS Touch Control Panels” and forwarded to the particular components. The five-inch touch displays are fitted at each seat in the cabin, eliminating the need for conventional switches in the passenger compartment.

The centerpiece of the versatile vehicle is the innovative BRABUS Media Center, which was developed in cooperation with Ruhr West University. The result is a groundbreaking concept that makes it possible to incorporate a wide variety of devices into the network, regardless of what operating system they use. To this end, a powerful PC that hosts the system is mounted in the vehicle hidden from view.

Consequently it doesn’t matter whether a passenger wants to use an Apple iPad, an Android cell phone or a Windows notebook while on board. The BRABUS Media Center incorporates any of these devices and allows everyone on board to work in a relaxed atmosphere or enjoy exciting entertainment as they please. All a user needs to do is to touch the symbol of the appropriate operating system on the BRABUS Touch Control Panel and the device is wirelessly incorporated into the on-board network. After that all contents and programs are available via the powerful on-board computer and a wireless mouse and keyboard at each seat.

The contents are displayed on the giant 42-inch Full HD LCD screen integrated into the bulkhead behind the driver’s cab. For passengers seated in the two rear-facing seats there is a 10-inch display integrated into the center console between these two seats.

Regardless of where they are seated, passengers have access to mobile high-speed internet via LTE for surfing or receiving and sending e-mail. They can also access entertainment content such as movies, music or photos from the hard drive, Blu-ray player or Playstation 4 game console, or can watch live HDTV via DVB-T or Apple TV. If desired, a four-channel surround view camera can show the vehicle surroundings, and cell phone multimedia content can be mirrored on the 42-inch screen via Miracast.

The sound is reproduced with superb brilliance by a Dolby surround sound system with an output of 1,200 watts and loudspeakers tailored specifically to the van’s interior.

The exterior of the BRABUS business van also stands out from the crowd. The designers have developed a new front bumper with sporty-dynamic design and integrated LED daytime running lights to give the Sprinter a striking facelift. In the rear the two BRABUS exhaust pipes with hallmark design lend the vehicle a sporty appearance.

The wheel arches of the Mercedes Sprinter are fitted with tailor-made elegant fender flares to create space for the BRABUS Monoblock E 8Jx18 wheels with nine distinctive spokes and polished drop center. They are designed specifically for the high weight of the Sprinter, and mounted with the perfect high-performance tires of size 255/55 R 18 from technology partner Continental.

The BRABUS Business Lounge special model based on the Mercedes Sprinter is built to order and available in various versions with four or six seats in the passenger compartment.

Mercedes E63 AMG Tuned by Brabus

The Mercedes E63 AMG is impressive all o its own, specifically when it comes to power but Brabus being Brabus thought they could pull slightly more from the AMG

The Mercedes E63 AMG is impressive all o its own, specifically when it comes to power but Brabus being Brabus thought they could pull slightly more from the AMG.  And so they have with thereBrabus 850 6.0 Biturbo capable of sprinting 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds.

Brabus tunes the Mercedes E63 AMG sedan to 850 PS

Brabus tunes the Mercedes E63 AMG sedan to 850 PS

625 kW / 850 horsepower (838 bhp), 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) of torque, a top speed in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph): these are the unique performance figures of the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo that comes to the starting line as the legitimate successor of the famed BRABUS 800 E V12.

For almost two decades the four generations of the BRABUS E V12 ruled the segment of the superfast sedans. What once started with the implantation of a BRABUS 6.9 V12 increased-displacement engine producing 375 kW / 509 horsepower (503 bhp) into the body of a Mercedes 500 E of the W 124 model series, and culminated in the BRABUS E V12 “one of ten” super car with 588 kW / 800 horsepower (790 bhp) of power and a top speed in excess of 370 km/h (230 mph) presented at the 2009 IAA, now finds its even more powerful continuation.

The BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo, based on the current Mercedes E 63, uses eight instead of twelve cylinders. To this end the motor engineers from BRABUS developed a new high-performance engine with an increased displacement of six liters (361 cu. in.).

Like its predecessors, the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo, which of course is also available as a wagon, comes with an efficient BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement kit, tailor-made BRABUS Monoblock wheels and an exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior.

The eight-cylinder engine of the E 63 and its two turbochargers provide the perfect breeding ground for an enormous power boost. To this end the BRABUS motor engineers developed a displacement increase from standard 5,461 cc to 5,912 cc (333 to 361 cu. in.). Simply increasing the bore of the eight cylinders in the BRABUS high-tech engine-building shop to 99 millimeters (3.89 in.) would be insufficient. The precision-balanced billet crankshaft with a stroke of 96 mm (3.78) instead of the standard 90.5 millimeters (3.56 in.) in concert with special forged billet pistons and billet piston rods completes the displacement increase. In addition, both cylinder heads are optimized for mixture flow.

The turbocharging system of the eight-cylinder four-valve engine was upgraded accordingly: the air intake system and the two BRABUS turbochargers with larger compressor unit and special manifold were all developed from the ground up. The BRABUS 850 intake module with an air filter box with larger cross section was developed to supply the adequate amount of air. An air duct integrated into the hood is also part of this special intake manifold as is the larger intake pipe, which is positioned directly exposed to the relative wind in the front bumper to provide air to the engine.

Low charge-air temperatures are beneficial to power yield and engine temperatures, and consequently BRABUS equips this engine with intake and charge-air pipes wrapped with special and immediately identifiable “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing.

Free-flow metal catalysts and a BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve are installed on the exhaust side. This includes active control of the exhaust note from the driver’s seat. At the push of a button drivers can choose between a quiet “Coming Home” mode and an earthy, full-blooded V8 sound when the “Sport” position is selected. With its dual ceramic-coated design tailpipes on either side with cast BRABUS logo this exhaust system is also a visual treat.

The BRABUS electronics engineers used their immense know-how and state-of-the-art engine test rigs to recalibrate the engine management system to ensure the perfect interaction of all high-performance components and consequently an optimal power output. The result is not only tremendous performance, but also compliance with stringent EURO VI emissions standards. The high-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain are supplied by technology partner MOTUL.

The performance data of the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo increased-displacement engine speak volumes: 625 kW / 850 horsepower (838 bhp) at a low 5,400 rpm are just as unique for a street-legal sedan as is a constant torque of 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. In the car this figure is limited to 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft) to reduce stress on the entire drivetrain. Of course this high-performance engine is also backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013).

In conjunction with the modified SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission the new engine lifts all versions of the E 63 to a performance level previously virtually inconceivable for a sedan or a wagon. With rear-wheel drive the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. With 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the added traction it provides this exercise actually takes only 3.1 seconds. Depending on the tires, the final drive ratio and the programming of the BRABUS Vmax unit, the top speed ranges between 300 km/h (186 mph) and more than 350 km/h (217 mph).

In addition, BRABUS offers three more performance stages for all current E 63 variants that do without a displacement increase. Their power outputs range from 456 kW / 620 horsepower (611 bhp) and 478 kW / 650 horsepower (641 bhp) to 537 kW / 730 horsepower (720 bhp) for the BRABUS B63S-730 version.

Favorable aerodynamic properties are essential for perfect handling stability at the tremendous speeds attained by such powerful vehicles. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop bodywork components made from extremely lightweight yet ultra-strong carbon fiber.

The front spoiler lip attaches to the underside of the production bumper of the E 63. Its shape reduces negative lift on the front axle of sedan and wagon.

Also made from this superlight composite material are the BRABUS rear separation edge and the diffuser insert, which provides the perfect backdrop for the two dual tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust.

The immense top speed of the BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo requires special high-performance tires supplied by technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA. The largest version features one-piece BRABUS Monoblock F or R wheels of size 9.5Jx20 with high-speed-capable tires of sizes 255/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 295/25 ZR 20 tires in back. There is also a version featuring BRABUS Monoblock R “Platinum Edition” forged wheels of size 9Jx20 in front and size 10.5Jx20 on the rear axle.

The BRABUS fine leather interior, which is handcrafted meticulously by the experienced upholsterers of the automotive refinement specialist, can be ordered in any desired color. BRABUS aluminum shift paddles with a highly ergonomic design and BRABUS RACE pedals add a markedly sporty note.

The BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo can be ordered as a complete car or BRABUS can convert any existing current Mercedes E 63 entirely or step by step to this specification.

Fuel economy, CO2 emissions and efficiency class

Throwback Thursday: The Mercedes-Benz GLK At SEMA: The RENNTech GLK Pikes Peak Rally Racer

RENNtech's GLK was inspired by the winged, unlimited-class rally cars of the famed Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Inspired by the winged, unlimited-class rally cars of the famed Pikes Peak Hill Climb, RENNtech set about creating a GLK that could master the pack and leave the rest chewing gravel. But, this wild GLK has a few surprises beneath its menacing exterior.

Hybrid powertrains are generally associated with fuel efficiency and lower emissions. However, RENNtech has taken one more benefit of the hybrid principle to turn the GLK into a formidable performer. By combining an electric motor in parallel with the 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine, RENNtech has been able to capture the impressive torque that characterises electric motor drives, adding 54 Nm to enhance the GLK’s performance off-the-line and out of corners. Using a hybrid drive in a hill climb setting has the added advantage of maintaining thrust at higher altitudes, when internal combustion engines – which depend on ambient air – start to wheeze.

The specialist Mercedes tuning company has also worked its magic on the base 3.5 litre V6 unit, using components from the latest Mercedes-Benz high-performance 3.5 litre V6 Sport engine. These include a special intake manifold, cams and cylinder heads, to which RENNtech has added its own long-tube headers, composite air intake and RENNtech ECU software. Engine output is up to approximately 350 hp, augmented further by the electric motor from the hybrid drive.

The additional 72 volt drive is run by 12 volt plug-in batteries. RENNtech is currently working on a nickel-hydride solution with regenerative charging for additional range.

“The GLK Rally Racer Hybrid is a fully-functioning test bed,” explains Hartmut Feyhl, founder and President of RENNtech. “We will use this vehicle as a proof-of-concept, which we will develop and enhance throughout next year.”

“With the Rally Racer, we have really increased the car’s performance,” continues Feyhl. “Together with the more aggressive, sporting look, we have created a powerful and exciting package.”

It is also worth noting that, despite the performance enhancements, RENNtech has succeeded in improving the fuel economy of the Rally Racer compared with the original version, “proving that high performance and efficiency can coexist,” adds Feyhl.

Bearing in mind that the Rally Racer is built for speed on tough terrain, RENNtech opted to forego creature comforts, cutting the weight of the standard GLK by removing most of the sound insulation and replacing the Mercedes-Benz seats with lightweight carbon-fibre buckets. Engineers also fitted a full roll cage and moved several components towards the rear of the vehicle to create an almost perfect 50:50 front/rear weight distribution for improved handling on tight, demanding rally stages.

Another significant handling modification comes from the custom coil-over suspension. Made to RENNtech specifications by suspension supplier KW, the package allows for adjustments in height, rake, damping rate, camber and toe-in.

Extra stopping power is provided for the Rally Racer courtesy of an in-house RENNtech brake combo featuring massive 412mm, 2-piece rotors with 8-piston callipers at the front, and 356mm discs grabbed by 4-pot callipers at the rear.

Lightweight 20 inch 3-piece, 5-spoke RENNtech wheels in a “Sniper Gray” anthracite finish, clad in NT05 275/40 20 Nitto rubber at the front and NT05 315/35 20 at the rear, fill the prominent wheel flares that underscore this GLK’s performance potential.

Although extensive exterior revisions were made to accommodate the larger wheels and brakes and to widen the track, the focus of bodyshell modifications was enhanced aerodynamic efficiency. RENNtech used the latest in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to develop the package. The front splitter, rear diffuser and lower side skirts help direct airflow underneath the GLK Rally Racer to reduce drag and produce added downforce, while improving high speed stability at the rear. The rear wing elements also serve an important aerodynamic purpose and add emphasis to the aggressive edginess of the original GLK design. From a visual perspective, RENNtech engineers successfully melded their aerodynamic modifications with the flared wheel arches to create a powerful side line that highlights the dynamic thrust of the Rally Racer.

“The GLK was a great starting point for this project,” says Hartmut Feyhl, “It has excellent underpinnings for performance tuning and I think the overall look really suits it.”

“The GLK gave us a great deal of scope for bringing together form and function. For the RENNtech GLK, performance may have been the primary goal, but it also looks the part,” he adds.

Mercedes ML63 AMG Wide Body by Expression Motorsport

The wide body aero kit from Expression Motorsport is now available for the 2014 M-Class, the ML63 and for standard models.

The kit has been designed to enhance not only the SUV’s racing aesthetics but also the performance on the track. TBT: Brabus Rocket Becomes The World’s Fastest Sedan

The Brabus Rocket, with V12, registered a maximum velocity of 225.19 miles per hour while testing

While browsing our inbox this morning, we received an email from our good friend Vincent at Autoblog.nl, who graciously tipped us off to the fact that the Brabus’ self-titled Rocket, a Mercedes CLS fitted with the 600-series’ V12, has officially garnished the title of the world’s fastest sedan.

During recent high speed testing, the Brabus Rocket, whose superbly-tuned V12 produces a power output of 730 hp / 537 kW and an electronically limited peak torque of 1,100 Nm at 2,100 RPM, registered a maximum velocity of… are you ready for this… 225.19 miles per hour.

Unbelievable.

Gilded Mercedes-Benz S-Class Fit for a King

Built for China's ultra wealthy, the Carlsson CS50 Versailles is an over the top golden carraige

Can you ever have to much gold?  A question I’m asking myself as I go through the photo gallery of the newly revealed Carlsson CS50 Versailles.  Based on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Carlsson covered the car in more than 1,000 sheets of gold leaf – a process that took over 200 man-hours to complete.  The gold and refinements did not stop there however, Carlsson also covered 278 interior components with gold leaf as well, perfectly complimenting the champagne and dark brown Nappa Leather.

In total, there is around 12,000 Euros worth of gold leaf on the interior and exterior of the S-Class.  Is it to much, did Carlsson take the S-Class meant to invoke the beauty of King Louis XIV’s palace at Versailles too far.  Considering that 10 of the 25 limited edition CS50 Versailles editions have already been spoken for, the answer must be no – it’s the perfect amount of gold.

Check out the photo gallery below and see the gilded ride for yourself, or learn more about the Carlsson CS50 Versailles by expanding the press release below.
