BRABUS Aerodynamic-Enhancement Kit for the Mercedes E-Class and S-Class AMG

The Mercedes S-Class with AMG styling gets a more athletic appearance with additional BRABUS body components

Brabus today unveiled new tuning programs for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-Class AMG models.

Brabus design updates include a revised styling package with a front lip spoiler, a rear diffuser and a trunk-mounted spoiler on both models. Brabus also offers a carbon fiber version which includes all the previously stated components in addition to a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with two different modes.

Additional options include sport front fenders, a bespoke interior and wheel options in sizes up to 20 inches. Being from Brabus, customers can also order engine upgrades for the 5.5-liter and 6.3-liter V8.

BRABUS Aerodynamic-Enhancement Kit for the Mercedes E-Class with AMG Body Styling

The BRABUS designers have modeled a front spoiler lip that attaches to the lower part of the AMG front apron on the sedans and wagons of the latest E-Class. Its sophisticated shape further reduces lift on the front axle for further improved directional stability.

For the sedan there is also a diffuser and rear spoiler that is mounted on the trunk lid. The former features a centrally located reflector, and stylishly blends with the rear bumper. It has cutouts on either side for the tailpipes of the production exhaust or of the BRABUS quad sport exhaust system.

Like the front spoiler the components for the rear are manufactured in OEM quality from Pur-R-Rim plastic ensuring perfect fit and excellent paintability, both in body or in contrasting color. BRABUS also offers these components with a titanium-colored paint finish.

BRABUS Aerodynamic-Enhancement Kit for the Mercedes S-Class with AMG Body Styling

The Mercedes S-Class with AMG styling also gets a more athletic appearance with additional BRABUS body components that are manufactured in OEM quality from Pur-R-Rim as well. The BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement kit can be painted in body color or come with a glossy titanium paint finish.

The BRABUS front spoiler improves the aerodynamic properties of the luxury sedan. As a result, the car delivers an even smoother ride, particularly at high speeds.

The rear spoiler and diffuser, which also features a centrally located reflector, also contribute to even better high-speed handling.

BRABUS Aerodynamic-Enhancement Kit and Flap Control Exhaust for the Mercedes E 63 AMG

A BRABUS aero update is also available for the E 63 AMG. To further optimize directional stability at high speeds, the BRABUS designers have developed a carbon-fiber front spoiler lip that attaches to the production bumper of the E 63 sedan or wagon. Custom-tailored air ducts from BRABUS lend the side outlets of the AMG apron even more sporty profile.

Also made from super-light composite material are the BRABUS rear spoiler lip and the diffuser insert, which are both reserved for the sedan.

The rear appearance of this model is characterized by the visual trademark of BRABUS, the centrally located reflector. But that’s not all: the diffuser provides the perfect backdrop for the ceramics-coated dual design tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system. Thrilling looks are not the only strengths of the sport exhaust. An integrated flap system lets the driver choose between a discrete ‘coming home’ mode and the sport setting that provides an even more exciting exhaust note, all at the push of a button in the cockpit.

BRABUS Aerodynamic-Enhancement Kit and Flap Control Exhaust for the Mercedes S 63 AMG

The S 63 can be refined in a similar manner: an additional front spoiler made from Formula 1 material of choice carbon fiber for the AMG bumper was modeled for it as well. It benefits the car’s appearance and handling characteristics at high speed.

In addition to the spoiler lip for the trunk lid there is also a center diffuser with reflector for this model. Also in the product program: the stainless-steel BRABUS flap control exhaust system. It features cast-aluminum ceramics-coated tailpipes and a variable exhaust note controlled from the steering wheel that spans the gap from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde.

The BRABUS program naturally also offers countless additional options for customizing all AMG models. These include custom-tailored BRABUS Monoblock wheels with diameters of up to 20 inches, depending on the model in question. BRABUS front sport fenders, available for all E- and S-Class models, are yet another visual delicacy.

BRABUS wouldn’t be BRABUS if it didn’t offer engine tuning for the various AMG engines. Highlights in this category are the 6.3-liter V8 fast-revving engine and the new 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine.

The interior also offers a wide open playing field for refinement. The BRABUS upholstery shop uses supple leather and Alcantara to adapt the interior to the customer’s personal preferences down to the last detail. Other instruments of cockpit refinement are carbon-fiber and exotic wood trim elements available in any desired color and in a number of different designs.

Mercedes-Benz CLS 500 by MEC Design

The tuning package from MEC Design targets the visual appearance of the CLS, while offering minor technical modifications

Last week, German tuner Kicherer gave us a look at ther CLS Edtion Black based on the new generation CLS. Prior to Kicherer, both Brabus and Carlsson debuted their versions of the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS. So why is it that MEC Design decided to modify the ‘old’ CLS. The answer is simple:  it’s still a gorgeous car. The previous generation had a dramatic, somewhat more aggressive character than that of the 2012 CLS.  Don’t get me wrong, Mercedes’ new CLS looks great, but I have to say I’m still in mourning over the passing of the prior generation.

As for the tuning package from MEC Design, it sets its aim on the visual appearance of the CLS, while offering minor technical modifications, with no boost in the power output.

For starters, the Mercedes CLS 500 received a new body kit, giving the already dramatic stock CLS a meaner face.  Exterior enhancements start with a set of modified bumpers, which include LED fog lights and day lights at the front along with an “Extreme” diffuser at the back.  Also present are new side skirts with LED lights, a three piece trunklid spoiler and a rear window spoiler.  Lastly, the MEC Design package also includes a 2010 style grille and LED mirror covers, plus a full matte black foil wrap for the CLS’s body.

Complimenting the body kit, MEC outfitted the CLS with 20-inch mecxtreme III in Full Matt Black finish. Helping lower center of gravity, a new electronic lowering system module has been incorporated.  And last but not least, a stainless steel rear muffler adds a more aggressive note tot he exhaust, perfectly complimenting the rest of the MEC Design CLS.

Though MEC Design failed to release any interior pictures, we have word the CLS is outfitted carbon/leather steering wheel and new floor mats.

You can check out photos of the MEC Design Mercedes CLS500 in the photo gallery below.

Mercedes Kicherer CLS Edition Black First Look

The Kicherer CLS Edition Black offers subtle tuning enhancements to the already gorgeous CLS-Class

The new Mercedes CLS is already a thing of beauty, but that hasn’t stopped Kicherer from attempting to improve on its gloriousness. The tuning firm just unveiled what they’re calling the Kicherer CLS Edition Black, a model boasting a number of exterior, interior and performance enhancements.

Under the hood is where the fun begins, as Kicherer has bumped power by around 62 PS and 90 Nm of torque. They’ve also added a Kicherer PowerConverter and a new sport exhaust, increasing not only the responsiveness of the CLS, but also the sound.

Exterior wise, Kicherer has added their RS-1 20 inch forged wheels, along with the ever trendy matte black paint scheme. Even the chassis has been reworked in matte black and carbon, to match the paint. Behind the scenes, a new six and four piston Kicherer high perfromance braking system utilizing compound discs and flexible stainless steel hoses helps slow the CLS, while piano lacquer accents throughout the CLS Black’s interior complete the Kicherer package.

You can see the Kicherer CLS Edition Black in all its matte glory in the photo gallery below.

Brabus Announces Tuning Program for Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet

The BRABUS 800 E V12 Cabriolet reaches a top speed of 231 mph and is the world's most powerful and fastest four-seater cabriolet.

It was only a matter of time before Brabus turned their attention to the new E-Class Cabriolet after having already tuned the sedan and the coupe. The German tuner has given the cabriolet aesthetic updates both on the exterior and the interior as well as some mechanical updates.

On the exterior, newly designed front sport fenders widen the track and allow the installation of ultra-wide 9.5Jx19 wheels mounted with size 265/30 ZR 19 tires. In addition, an updated front apron to reduce lift with LED daytime running lights has been integrated for a distinct look. In the back, special carbon-fiber rear fender flares add 60 millimeters (2.4 inches) to the width of the E-Class Cabriolet to make space for space for ten-inch wide wheels mounted with high-performance tires.

For the interior, Brabus covered the cockpit in a perfectly finished combination of lipstick-red and black leather.  Other enhancements include  an ergonomically shaped Brabus steering wheel and inlays made from genuine carbon fiber on the dashboard, center console and side trim.

Engine updates bumped the displacement from the standard 5.5 to 6.3 liters by installing a special crankshaft with a longer stroke and larger pistons in conjunction with increased cylinder bore bumps. The BRABUS 800 V12 Biturbo powertrain, transforms the four-seater convertible into the most powerful and fastest of its kind in the world. A total of 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at 5,500 rpm and peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft), limited electronically in the car to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft), are as unique as the driving performance this car delivers. The Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet boasts a sprint time of 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK Tuner by Carlsson

Carlsson drew on its experience in enhancing engine power to present the Carlsson C-Tronic for the current CGI engines

German tuner, Carlsson, released their revised version of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK today.  The tuning program for the SLK include both interior and exterior as well as engine enhancements.  The 2012 Mercedes SLK offers two seats, a long bonnet, short overhangs, an open top and the engine in just the right place. With the new SLK, Mercedes-Benz presents what is probably the finest roadster in its history. Yet Carlsson still managed to find numerous ways to personalise the car and to leave its own unique mark on its dynamism and style.

The aerodynamics system, consisting of a front spoiler and rear apron insert (for cars with the AMG sports package, code 950), underscores the car’s sporty geometry and guarantees an additional downforce at the rear axle (the front spoiler and the rear insert are available for 620 Euro each, excluding VAT). The car’s front is perfected by the new front spoiler lip RS (available for 549 Euro and optional in real carbon) while the grille inserts made from electropolished stainless steel (449 Euro) replace the standard synthetic honeycombs in the front apron. The rear view meanwhile is dominated by the stainless steel sports silencer with two stainless steel pipes left and right in the typical oval Carlsson shape (available for 1298 Euro). The acoustic engineers at Carlsson have developed an amazing sporty sound in a way that optimises flow and really underscores the character of the SLK. The diffuser insert and the well-designed rear spoiler cause the contact pressure at the rear axle to increase even further.

Carlsson has drawn on its years of experience in enhancing engine power to present, for the first time, the Carlsson C-Tronic for the current generation of CGI engines. Thanks to the additional control units, the engine power is boosted by anything between 27 and 40 hp. The new C-Tronic makes use of the unit’s existing reserves and, thanks to the connection to the car’s electronics system, ensures that the relevant safety limits are adhered to and that the engine is not exposed to any excessive wear. Through elaborate endurance testing, Carlsson has developed a new generation of additional control units for the current four-cylinder CGI engines. Durability is guaranteed by the car maker by way of a three-year warranty, valid from the date of installation.

The C-Tronic CB20 enables the SLK 200 CGI to achieve 211 hp (155 kW) while the C-Tronic CB20S allows it to reach 224 hp (165 kW), compared with the standard model’s basic power of 184 hp (135 kW). Meanwhile, the C-Tronic CB25 boosts the power of the SLK 250 CGI from 204 hp (150 kW) to 231 hp (170 kW) while the CB25S enables the engine to achieve 239 hp (165 kW). (The C-Tronic CB20 and CB25 are available for 1190 Euro and the C-Tronic CB20S and CB25S for 1690 Euro.)

The lowering of the car’s centre of gravity by up to 30 millimetres further increases the car’s dynamics without impacting upon comfort levels. Furthermore, the suspension lowering kit (309 Euro), used in conjunction with tyres of up to 20 inches, add the final touches to the car’s upgrade. Complete wheel sets starting at 18 inches are available from 1930 Euro.

The interior of the SLK receives an upgrade from Carlsson’s own upholsterers based at Gut Wiesenhof. These experienced master upholsterers have come up with a combination of colours and materials for the SLK, which can, if the customer requires, be personalised with matching beading and stitching. Carlsson Nappa, Carlsson Nappa Exclusive and Carlsson Nappa Exclusive Heavy Weight are offered as part of a basic package consisting of the upholstering of two seats, the headrests and the insides of the doors and are available from 3900 Euro including fitting. The interior is further refined by the use of pedal pads made of brushed aluminium with Carlsson logos (suitable for both automatic and stick-shift vehicles) as well as the Carlsson gear selector with Alcantara appliqués, individual carbon features or, alternatively, fine wood inlays.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG by German Tuner VÄTH

The VÄTH SLS g accelerates to a sprint from zero to 100 km/h is completed in just 3.6 seconds

The motto “Give Your Car Wings” is already anticipated by the vehicle manufacturers , but it does not prevent the company VÄTH Automotive from Bavarian Aschaffenburg near Hösbach from eliciting the wings for more power.

With the engine electronics optimization and in-house high-performance exhaust system, the tuning kit from V63S VÄTH achieves the peak performance of 615 hp and 680 Nm at 5800 rpm. Here, the newly programmed engine management with custom ignition and injection characteristics delivers power to achieve the top speed of 330 km/h. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h is completed in just 3.6 seconds.

The VÄTH high-performance exhaust system has a special extra pneumatic valve system with manual control in the cockpit. This allows you to adjust the tone of the 6.3-liter eight-cylinder “on-the-fly” between pleasantly quiet or sporting pithy.

This power is required for VÄTH SLS high-performance brake system which has increased the loads. Slotted rotors with matching high-performance brake pads and steel flex lines of VÄTH ensure that deceleration of the supercar brings it to a stop quickly.

For efficient translation of the performance and driving dynamics to the asphalt, VÄTH three-part forged rims in the dimensions of 9,5J x 20 at the front and 11,5J x 20 at the rear were installed. The weight of the wheel pairs is different due to large wheels of non-standard dimensions and is born by the tires in dimensions of 265/30ZR20 at the front and 315/25ZR20 at the rear. The spiders are painted in titanium color, but can be painted in any color at your option.

The VÄTH Comfort Suspension provides visual and driving dynamics benefits from lowering by 25 millimeters. This allows VÄTH SLS to provide the optimal and safe driving and comfort on the road.

For very high speeds which the VÄTH SLS will often gain on the road, there is VÄTH aerodynamic package fully developed from carbon fiber composite, which greatly improves the stability and traction, and has a discreet and stylish look. This includes an integrated front lip spoiler, which increases the downforce on the front axle at high speeds. To achieve the optimum balance of pressure between the front and the rear, the latter represents VÄTH boot spoiler fitted with trailing edge. The side skirts also improve the brake ducts on the rear axle.

The interior had to go through certain procedures. The engineered leather sport steering wheel can also be provided upon request with carbon or wood applications. The speedometer was generously extended to 400 mph. The black floor mats from the high quality and durable material have silver VÄTH logos. Furthermore, door trimming with special leather is possible.

The complete reconstruction costs 32,670 Euro.

Mercedes-Benz to Build Bentley Continental GT Competitor

The model is described as an "über-CLS", and is likely to have an even more dramatic shape than the coupé style CLS

Reports are coming in that Mercedes-Benz is considering a high-performance four-door that would fall above the CLS and give it a rival to Bentley’s Continental GT.

The dedicated hot model was described to UK’s Autocar as an “über-CLS”. It’s likely that it would have an even more dramatic shape than the coupé-like CLS and feature AMG engines and chassis tuning to justify a considerably higher price.

Mercedes believes that it can slot the model into its range — alongside the CL two-door — because of the burgeoning market for ultra-expensive, high-performance models, particularly in Russia and the Middle East.  Sorry to our readers in the U.S., they are not building this one for you.

Mercedes is determined to take a larger slice of those sales, bullying aside Bentley’s offering and a forthcoming extreme Porsche Panamera GT.

A possible Maybach spin-off of the four-door is also a distinct possibility, say our sources, pointing to the interest shown in the striking one-off 62S Coupé (pictured) that has been displayed at motor shows by German engineering firm Xenatec.

Mercedes SL 65 AMG BiTurbo by INDEN Design

The tuner INDEN Design from Flammersbach has taken on the daunting task of upgrading the SL 65 AMG V12 BiTurbo

AMG produces one of the world’s most powerful roadsters, the SL 65 AMG V12 BiTurbo, since 2004. The roadster is built on the base of the Mercedes-Benz R230 and has the 6-liter engine (also used in Maybachs) offering up 612 hp (450 kW). The “natural” torque (in the truest sense of the word) of the engine is 1200 Nm, but it is limited by the engine control to 1000 Nm.

The noble tuner INDEN Design from Flammersbach near the Hessian Haiger has taken on the daunting task of upgrading the SL again . With Joachim Inden at the helm– the deep black roadster, INDEN tunes the beast and finishes it in black sapphire as a result of the conversion.

Let us begin with a front apron, which has huge holes for ventilation. The hood had to go through corrections as well. The front wings were widened, that required to change the inner wheel arches. Linking of this set of side skirts and front and rear wheel arches could hardly be made more individual. The rear wheel arches have considerably more volume now. At the rear, subtle spoiler and modified apron with rear diffuser are conspicuous.

Direct contact between the vehicle and asphalt is achieved by a perfectly adequate wheel / tire combination of three-part INDEN Champion 11×20 or 13×20-inch rims with 265/30 and 325/25R20 tires.

Electronic control module provides additional lowering by about 45 mm. The performance of the aforementioned engine was – not surprisingly – increased to 680 hp, and the Vmax-lock was removed. For the desired sonorous engine sound Black Sapphire exhaust pipes were installed. The interior of the INDEN’s SL 65 AMG V12 features a Black Series Steering Wheel in Alcantara.

Youcan take a look more closely at this vehicle at the Tuning World Bodensee in Friedrichshafen from May 5 to 11, 2011.

BRABUS Offers Performance Kits for Mercedes-Benz V8 Biturbo Engines

The BRABUS engine specialists have developed two performance kits for each of the new eight-cylinder biturbo engines

German tuner BRABUS is known for offering the most extensive engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and now BRABUS is introducing performance kits for the new Mercedes-Benz V8 biturbo engines that are found on the latest S and CL models (US: S550 and CL550) and the S63 and CL63 AMG models. Depending on the model and the level of tuning, the kits boost power output to up to 620 hp (610 bhp) / 455 kW and peak torque to 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). All components are backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles .

The BRABUS engine specialists have developed two performance kits for each of the new eight-cylinder biturbo engines. BRABUS recommends fully synthetic ARAL high-performance motor oil for all engines.

For the S500 and CL500 models, BRABUS offers the BRABUS B50 – 490 PowerXtra CGI performance kits that sell for EUR 4,900 MSRP. The BRABUS PowerXtra module is a plug-and-play device that is integrated into the engine electronics. After the installation the 4.7-liter (287 cu. in.) eight-cylinder biturbo engine produces a powerful 490 hp (482 bhp) / 360 kW, up from standard 435 hp (429 bhp) / 320 kW. Peak torque grows to 780 Nm (575 lb-ft).

The BRABUS B50 – 520 PowerXtra CGI performance kit, available for EUR 5,900 MSRP, results in a power increase by 85 horsepower for both 500 models. In addition to the PowerXtra module, this version includes a supplementary intercooler. Equipped with this kit, both sedan and coupe reach a top speed of 300 km/h (188 mph) in combination with the BRABUS Vmax Unit. Rated power output is 520 hp (512 bhp) / 382 kW with a peak torque of 820 Nm (604 lb-ft).

In addition to the auxiliary control unit for the engine electronics, the two BRABUS power upgrades for the S 63 and CL 63 models also include a water-to-air intercooler powered by an electric auxiliary pump. The lower charge air temperature in both cases benefits power yield and longevity even under extreme operating conditions.

For the S 63 and CL 63 models not equipped with performance package BRABUS offers the BRABUS B63 – 584 PowerXtra CGI performance kit for EUR 5,900 MSRP. It bumps power output by 40 hp (39 bhp) / 29.4 kW.

For all 63-series models equipped with performance package BRABUS offers the BRABUS B63 – 620 PowerXtra CGI version, which also costs EUR 5,900 MSRP. As the name indicates, after the conversion the biturbo engine produces 620 hp (610 bhp) / 455 kW at just 5,500 rpm. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 900 to 1,000 Nm (663 to 737 lb-ft), available between 2,250 and 3,750 rpm.

In the S63 and CL63 models with BRABUS B63 – 620 PowerXtra CGI tuning sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) is shortened to 4.3 seconds. In combination with the integrated BRABUS V/max Unit, top speed increases to up to 320 km/h (200 mph).

The ideal complement to the tuning of the 5.5-liter engine is the BRABUS sport exhaust system with exhaust flap control. At the push of a button on the steering wheel the driver can choose whether to enjoy the V8 sound in the quiet and unobtrusive ‘Coming Home’ or in the markedly throaty ‘Sport’ mode. The fully stainless-steel exhaust system features two ceramic-coated tailpipes with striking design that add some visual thrills as well.

To transfer the increased power to the road with minimum slip, BRABUS offers a limited-slip differential with a locking rate of up to 40 percent for the Mercedes S63 and CL63 models.

For even better directional stability at these extremely high speeds, the BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop appealing and functional aerodynamic-enhancement components for the body kit of the S 63 AMG. The components are manufactured from exposed carbon fiber.

The BRABUS front spoiler gives the production front apron a visual upgrade and reduces lift on the front axle. The more striking front is rounded out with carbon-fiber moldings for the gills in the sides of the front bumper. BRABUS aluminum sport fenders lend the car a decidedly dynamic appearance.

The BRABUS carbon-fiber diffuser with integrated reflector and the carbon-fiber rear spoiler reduce lift on the rear axle.

Naturally BRABUS also offers custom-tailored BRABUS Monoblock alloy wheels with diameters ranging from 19 to 21 inches for all Mercedes S- and CL-Class models. The wheels are mounted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA high-performance tires.

Upon customer request BRABUS also refines the interiors of Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans and CL coupes to suit the owners’ personal tastes.

SLS AMG Gullstream by FAB Design Officially Released

Power output has also been raised from the SLS AMG's standard 563 bhp to 607 bhp together with 690 Nm at 4600 rpm

FAB Design showed off their version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG last month at the Geneva Motor. At the show, Fab Design had the SLS AMG covered in light-blue, after which the SLS tuner was spotted in a showroom in Dubai.

Kicherer’s version of the SLS AMG is powered by the factory engine, that’s been upgraded to about 630 PS (464 kW), 700 Nm torque. The Kicherer Mercedes SLS 63 Supersport GT can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 198.8 mph (320 km/h).

Kicherer’s 63 Supersport GT exterior aerodynamics package for the Mercedes SLS AMG offers a more aggressive look and feel than its prior version. It includes a massive new front grille, carbon fiber front fins and it’s completely covered in matte black foil.

Kicherer’s new Mercedes SLS AMG can be lowered up to 30 mm with the push of a button, this ability is owed to the unique height adjustable suspension kit with lift-up function developed by Stockach. The Kicherer 63 Supersport GT also features stainless steel damper sport exhaust system with dynamic pressure regulation and anew tailpipes.

The Kicherer Mercedes SLS AMG 63 Supersport GT is seated on 20 inch front rims and 21 inch rear light alloy rims.

Kicherer describes the SLS 63 Supersport GT like this: “And as often as we see the SLS on Germany’s streets in the meantime, the super sports car of AMG seems to sell like hot cakes. Exactly for this reason, specialist KICHERER also upgrades and presents a comprehensive finishing programme. “

Speedriven EV12 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The EV12 is based on an older version of the Mercedes E-Class and is powered by a 700 hp V12 engine

Speedriven released recently released the details of their latest Mercedes projects, called the EV12. The EV12 is based on an older version of the Mercedes E-Class and is powered by a V12 engine. As you can see in the photos, the new Speedriven Mercedes-Benz E-Class has undergone an extensive engine modification, it now outputs 700 hp at the rear wheels. They tested the Mercedes EV12 on ALSA’s dyno.

In order to get the extra horsepower out of the engine, Speedriven fit the EV12 Mercedes E-Class with top-mounted water-to-air intercoolers, “scorpion” air intakes, larger fuel injectors and billet-wheel turbochargers. The Speedriven EV12 Mercedes-Benz E-Class also comes with a re-programmed ECU and TCU.

The only sign that may tip you off to the true power under the hood of Speedriven’s E-Class is its Brabus aerodynamics package and the blacked-out front grille.

Unfortunately, the performance figures of the new Mercedes E-Class and the price for the upgrades have yet to be released.

Press Release from Speedriven: Speedriven EV12: Goldilocks Chassis, Papa Bear Power

Despite being a luxury brand, Mercedes does its best to be a “full-line” car company, offering a little something for everyone. To some buyers, the C class is too small. The S class is too big. For them, the E class – right in between – is perfect. What happens, however, when the car is the right fit, but the performance … well, isn’t?

That “right car, wrong power” feel is where tuners come in. Tuners exist in droves these days, offering ECU upgrades that can take a car from feeling “too cold” horsepower-wise to feeling “just right” by pushing a few 1s and 0s around. That “just right” performance vibe can be a little more elusive, however, and a tuner may have to free up a car’s exhaust or change the diameter on a few pulleys now and again. Other times, though, “just right” isn’t enough, and only “too hot” will do.

The “stuffed-full of V12” Mercedes E-class sedan shown here is what happens when “just right” and “too hot” meet. The (literal) heavy-lifting was done by Tim Stoll at ALSA Automotive Engineering in Dubai, while the performance upgrades and software tuning were handled by the V12 Mercedes tuning specialists at Speedriven in Chicago, IL. The EV12 benefits from Speedriven’s usually-reserved-for-S-class-customers collection of aftermarket hardware, which includes top-mounted water-to-air intercoolers, “scorpion” air intakes, larger fuel injectors, and (of course!) Speedriven’s billet-wheel turbochargers. The upgraded machinery is guided by Speedriven ECU and TCU software and generates over 700 rear-wheel horsepower on ALSA’s dyno, which should be plenty of “hot” for the “just right” sized E class. A Brabus appearance package and blacked-out grille complete the look of the car.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Performance Modifications by Wimmer

Modification of the C63 AMG V8 Motor includes above all things sports camshaft and the cylinder head reworked

When it comes to progressive vehicle development, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG from Munich, more specifically Ingolstadt / Neckarsulm, ranks at the top among its competitors. Even in the serial configuration, this car allows the driver to exceptional driving experience and makes the them both a connoisseur and a winner. Wimmer Rennsporttechnik from Solingen has managed to personify the term “driving fun” with their Mercedes C63 AMG version. Wimmer Rennsporttechnik has managed to breath even more performance into the 6.3 liter C-Class.

Modification of the V8 Motor with standard 6.3-liter engine includes above all things sports camshaft and the cylinder head reworked. Manifold, down pipe and high flow catalytic converters are the next stages. After optimization of the air intake, installation of a stainless steel exhaust system and a sport air filter adaptation by Wimmer-Motorelektronik goes without saying. The result of all these measures is powerful 601 hp and 720 Nm of torque – a by no means despised value. The total result is ultimately power to weight ratio of 2.79 kg / hp. As a result, in comparison with the approved Vmax of 306 km/h, the “unlocked” Vmax value can now reach 329 km/h. The engine conversion by Wimmer costs 19,900 Euro.

The fact that the C63 AMG no longer has the original wheel/tire combination is needless to say. The choice dropped on BBS CH-R alloy wheels in dimensions of 8.5 or 9.5 x 19 inches. The car is fitted with the Dunlop tires in the dimensions of 235/35-19 at the front axle and 265/35-19 – at the rear axle. The in-house suspension proposed at 3600 Euros was installed again.

The men from Wimmer Rennsporttechnik showcase once again present the perfect conversion of a vehicle, in which it is very difficult to resist temptation to step into and take it to the road.

Mercedes-Benz CL500 by VÄTH

The 5.5-liter engine uses sport camshafts, stainless steel sport catalysts and air filters, so there is 460 HP is 600 Nm of torque

Engine preparation is the daily bread of the VÄTH Hösbach Company from Aschaffenburg. This time it was a black Mercedes-Benz CL 500. After the conversion, the 5.5-liter engine uses sport camshafts, stainless steel sport catalysts and air filters, so there are 460 HP and 600 Nm of torque available now.

The fine tuning of the engine electronics also includes Vmax increase up to 290 km/h, that’s why it is important to turn attention to tires! In addition, stainless steel manifolds, catalytic converters and stainless steel rear silencer were used. The improved sound effect also underscores the sporty appearance and has a positive impact on the natural characteristics of this super sports car. A fuel cooler increases efficiency and at the same time reduces fuel consumption and lowers material stress. The engine oil cooler is used for special motors, a matter of course for VÄTH.

The black Benz stands on three-part VÄTH 20-inch forged wheels with 245/30ZR20 tires at the front and 285/25ZR20 – at the rear axle. It has a three-way adjustable sports suspension and a braking system designed for maximum performance even in this case of special priority. The stability and security for high cornering speeds do not compromise comfort.

The front spoiler lips, the rear diffuser and the trunk-lip spoiler are made of high quality visual carbon.

For the adequate refinement of the interior, carbon fiber parts with perfect fit and high processing precision in either classic black or even multi-colored carbon were used. The metamorphosis of the interior is available with sport steering wheel in several variants, a rounded down to 360 km/h speedometer and black suede bottom with silver embroidered logo.

Information on the respective prices of the individual stages can be provided by the VÄTH Company at any time, but is also available for download as a PDF-file.

For the family, the new Sprinter from Brilliant Transportation is the perfect mode of transportation for cross country trips. For those of you without children, the upgraded Sprinter also makes for a great office on wheels when you have a long distance commute and a chauffeur to get you there.

Richard Fertig started Brilliant Transportation only 13 months ago with a small fleet of specially-equipped Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, and now the fast-growing company operates chauffeur-driven Sprinter-based Brilliant Vans and Mini Buses up and down the East Coast as well as in the Los Angeles area. Fertig says a large part of Brilliant’s success is due to the unusual design of their Sprinter van interiors, which feature a clean aesthetic with neutral colors and include rich hardwood floors, oversize leather seats, refrigerators, stowaway desks and built-in cabinets.

The tastefully integrated technology in the Brilliant Van includes a premium eight-speaker audio system, two 32-inch flat-screen TVs with satellite-based Direct TV and wireless headphones. In particular, business travelers appreciate its 3G Wi-Fi capability, color printers and a hands-free conference call system.

Fertig, Brilliant’s Founder and President, says, “Our versatile Sprinter vans appeal to corporate management, entertainers and well-to-do families who want to reclaim that dead in-transit time and who appreciate the size, height and overall comfort of a large van. Most NBA basketball players can stand up inside with room to spare. Additionally, our drivers are impressed with the Sprinter’s quality, reliability and especially the fuel economy of its proven clean-diesel power. Getting 20 miles per gallon in a vehicle of this size is phenomenal, which gives us a range of about 400 miles – our clients usually need to stop before we do.”

Addressing the “Are We There Yet?” Syndrome

Whether it’s helping with childrens’ homework, working out a complex business deal or eating a meal together, families and corporate travelers alike appreciate the comfort, convenience and productivity of Brilliant’s Sprinter vans. They welcome the privacy and lack of interruption that’s increasingly rare in today’s hectic work and family life.

Fertig says, “We’re introducing a new mode of travel we call Private Motoring¨ that often replaces air and rail transport. Although a number of our clients didn’t realize at first that Mercedes-Benz makes large vans, they know and love Mercedes, which makes our chauffeur-driven Brilliant Vans a natural extension of the way they choose to travel. Our New York-based Sprinters offer a distinct environment for business trips to Boston and DC, social events in Manhattan such as Lincoln Center or family weekends to the Hamptons and the Vermont ski country. With a similar range of use, our just-opened L.A. operation makes frequent trips to Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and San Diego.”

It’s Brilliant for the Bottom Line

Clients ask specifically for the Mercedes-Benz vans, and the comfort, convenience and privacy of Brilliant Vans has helped produce 100 percent repeat business. In addition, the impressive fuel economy and reliability of their Sprinters mean relatively low operating costs for Brilliant Transportation. In response to client requests for short, around-town transportation, Fertig added Brilliant Mini Buses based-on the 11-passenger Sprinter Passenger van. The company operates five Brilliant Vans and two Mini Buses based in New York City, with three Brilliant Vans and one Mini Bus in L.A.

Performers on tour, athletes and even royalty enjoy Brilliant’s Sprinter vans. Recently the entire board of directors for one of the top 50 global corporations spent four days together, touring their regional network of sales offices and warehouses utilizing Brilliant’s entire fleet of Brilliant Vans and holding a series of mobile meetings en route.
