Flashback Friday: Photos Of ASMA-Design’s CLS Shark II

ASMA-DESIGN CLS Shark II Perfect for Glock-totin' hip-hop moguls everywhere

Feeling a bit nostalgic today, we wanted to take a look at one of the articles form our original web launch way back in 2005.

Check out the post and the photos below of one of the ASMA CLS SHARK II

ASMA-DESIGN CLS SHARK II

Posted on November 25, 2005

A while back, we brought you the first photos of ASMA-Design’s new tuning package for the CLS, dubbed the CLS Shark, as well as a new tuning package for the upcoming 2007 S-Class.

ASMA’s designs were both met with mixed reviews – some of you thought they’d be perfect for Glock-totin’ hip-hop moguls everywhere; some of you though they’d be better suited for a Honda; and some of you actually liked the way ASMA re-styled the Mercedes.

If you’re in the latter camp, you’re in for a treat; if not, let the hating begin.

ASMA has just unveiled a new tuning package for the CLS, dubbed the CLS Shark II.  It features much of the same styling the standard CLS Shark received, including side vents, rear apron, and side skirts, but what sets the CLS Shark II apart is the ridiculously huge grille on the front of the vehicle – it has to be the biggest grille I’ve ever seen.

I don’t know what it is, but the more I look at the car, the more I think it looks like Darth Vader’s helmet.  Paint it black, add a horn that says “Luke, I am your father,” and Star Wars fanatics from the dark side won’t be able to buy the AMSA Shark II fast enough (although Star Wars fanatics led by The Force might pull out their plastic lightsabers and beat it like a piñata).

Whatever your view of the new ASMA-Design CLS Shark II, there’s no denying it’s different.  We’ll leave it up to you whether or not that’s a good thing.

UPDATE:

Posted June 13th, 2007

Just when you thought ASMA’s CLS Shark II couldn’t get more flamboyant, the newest version of the German-tuned CLS-Class has been unveiled, and yes ladies and gentlemen, it is indeed even more eye catching.

Updates include added chrome accents (most notably on the grille) and a two-tone black and silver paint job, both of which aim to complement the plethora of venting found throughout the vehicle.  ASMA has also introduced a pair of new wheel designs as well, which can be added to the CLS Shark II and a number of other Mercedes models, should you so desire.

BRABUS G V12 900 – Limited Edition “1 of 10”

The BRABUS G V12 900 "ONE OF TEN" will be built in a limited edition of just ten vehicles

The world’s most powerful twelve-cylinder off-roader once more comes from BRABUS! The BRABUS G V12 900 “ONE OF TEN” will be built in a limited edition of just ten vehicles. Fifteen years after the presentation of the first BRABUS G V12 at the Geneva Motor Show 2004, the development engineers of BRABUS again implanted a twin-turbo V12 high-performance engine into the body of the Mercedes G-Class the BRABUS way. Albeit, this time into the current W 463A model series.

The 6.3-liter increased-displacement engine producing an output of 662 kW / 900 hp (888 bhp) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. It gives the new supercar a performance on the road that is unique for an off-roader tipping the scales at no less than 2,660 kilograms. With a zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of just 3.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph), the BRABUS G V12 900 “ONE OF TEN” is the fasest road car of this model series ever built.

Of course, the new high-performance off-roader captivates not only with its tremendous power and with the exceptional road performance for a vehicle of this category. The vehicle body is enhanced with the spectacular BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody, which creates space for BRABUS “PLATINUM EDITION” hi-tech forged wheels with a diameter of 23 inches or, new, also 24-inch diameter. The electronically adjustable BRABUS Dynamic Ride Control suspension offers an ideal combination of outstanding ride quality and safe, agile handling.

An exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior rounds off the luxurious appointments of the BRABUS G V12 900 “ONE OF TEN”.

POWER & SOUND. EXPLOSIVE POWER DELIVERY.

Before the twelve-cylinder engine, which normally powers the Mercedes S 600 L with a rated output of 390 kW / 530 hp (523 bhp), was fitted into the engine bay of the current G-Class, it was thoroughly revised in our BRABUS hi-tech engine shop using state-of-the-art machining equipment. The installation of a special billet BRABUS crankshaft with longer stroke and the combination of larger cylinder bores, matching forged pistons and special precision-balanced billet connecting rods result in a displacement increase from stock 6.0 to 6.3 liters (366 to 384 cu in).

Changes to the engine peripherals also play a major role in the tremendous power output. The two production turbos are replaced by turbos with larger compressor unit and modified exhaust manifolds, which produce a higher boost pressure than the production components. The conversion includes downpipes with a diameter of 80 millimeters (3.1 in), free-flow metal catalysts and a BRABUS stainless high-performance exhaust system with actively controlled flaps. Thanks to the integrated sound management, the driver can choose between a throaty V12 exhaust note in ‘Sport’ mode and the discreet sound in “Coming Home” mode. The all- stainless exhaust system is also a visual treat. The two black-chromed tailpipes on the IAA show car exiting in front of the rear wheels on either side also add some visually thrilling highlights

Just as important is an optimal air supply for the engine. To this end, the BRABUS power unit engineers developed the BRABUS 900 intake module. The new intake manifold includes a special air filter box with larger cross-section and special filters, as well as “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing to lower the temperature.

The reprogrammed engine electronics with special mapping for injection and ignition as well a modified boost pressure control coordinate the perfect interaction of the high-performance components and in this way lend the high-end engine a unique combination of explosive power delivery and the hallmark smooth running of a V12. Technology partner MOTUL supplies the hi-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain.

As the result of the extensive work, the BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 Biturbo engine delivers unparalleled performance figures: The peak output of 662 kW / 900 hp (888 bhp) is on tap at a low 5,500 rpm. Even more phenomenal is the peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) at 4,200 rpm. This figure is limited electronically in the vehicle to 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft).

The power is sent to all four wheels by a nine-speed automatic transmission, which can be shifted even more precisely with the BRABUS RACE paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

The vehicle performance speaks for itself: From rest, the BRABUS G V12 900 “ONE OF TEN” shoots to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 174 mph. Accordingly, the new supercar is also equipped with a BRABUS speedometer with 186-mph scale.

EXTERIEUR: SPECTACULAR IN EVERY REGARD.

A wider track optimizes the handling and driving safety at these speeds and consequently the new supercar is fitted with the thrilling BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody. The strikingly styled fender flares add ten centimeters (4 in) to the width of the body and thereby offer plenty of space for massive forged wheels with diameters of 23 or 24 inches

The bodywork modifications also captivate with the BRABUS fasciae at the front and rear, which precisely transition into the WIDESTAR fenders. The front element is fitted with large air intakes to provide the engine, radiators and brakes with the necessary supply of fresh air. The stylized skid plate on this supercar is made of naked carbon.

The auxiliary LED lights under the side air intakes, which on the show car are also made of naked carbon, add to the dynamic looks and optimize the active safety at the same time. The hood is given a striking upgrade with a carbon attachment featuring two integrated power bulges. This also creates space for the large V12. The BRABUS Branding Package with illuminated BRABUS logo for the radiator grille with carbon surround and additional badges on the rear end and the sides of the off-roader reveals the origin of this unique all-wheel-drive supercar.

The BRABUS roof wing with naked-carbon highlights gives the rear end of the vehicle even more exciting looks. The BRABUS rear fascia with stylized skid plate, which like the surround for the two rear reflectors was produced from naked carbon, creates a homogeneous transition to the WIDESTAR fenders, which like the front flares feature stylized naked-carbon air vents in their backs to ensure a sporty appearance. In addition, all chrome parts on the show car were painted in vehicle color. Naked-carbon covers for the side mirrors round off the sporty BRABUS look.

WHEELS AND SUSPENSION: HIGHTECH IN KING SIZE.

The BRABUS G V12 900 “ONE OF TEN” on show at the IAA 2019 in Frankfurt presents another world premiere, the new BRABUS Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” Z wheels with a diameter of 24 inches developed specifically for the Mercedes G-Class. As the result of being produced using hi-tech forging technology, these ten-spoke alloys offer an outstanding combination of lightweight construction and maximum strength. The BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody uses wheels ten inches wide at the front mounted with size 295/30 R 24 tires. The rear axle runs on wheels of size 12Jx24 with 355/25 R 24 tires.

Alternatively, the BRABUS G V12 900 can also be ordered with BRABUS Monoblock Y “PLATINUM EDITION“ forged wheels of sizes 10Jx23 and 12Jx23, which carry high-performance tires from technology partner CONTINENTAL of sizes 295/35 ZR 23 and 335/30 ZR 23.

For a perfect combination of high ride quality and safe, sporty handling, the BRABUS G V12 900 “ONE OF TEN” is equipped with the innovative Ride Control coilover suspension, whose damping is tailored specifically to the axle loads with the twelve-cylinder engine. It is connected to the standard-fit DYNAMIC SELECT suspension controller in the cockpit, which allows dialing in various setups for the suspension, powertrain, steering and assistance systems. In addition, the ride height of the suspension can be adjusted.

It is connected to the standard-fit DYNAMIC SELECT suspension controller in the cockpit, which allows dialing in various setups for the suspension, powertrain, steering and assistance systems. In addition, the ride height of the suspension can be adjusted

The company upholstery shop created an exclusive BRABUS fine leather all-leather interior with high-precision workmanship for the BRABUS G V12 900 “ONE OF TEN” supercar. The “ONE OF TEN” plaque in the cockpit documents the strictly limited edition of this high-end off-roader. The choice of a combination of porcelain and saddle brown leather, which is highlighted with orange piping, adds a marked contrast to the black outer skin. In addition, the center sections of the seats, which feature shell-shaped quilting and perforations applied with pinpoint accuracy, are backed with fabric of that same orange hue. The glove box and the storage compartment in the center console were likewise lined with orange leather. The headliner is made from black Alcantara. It also integrates a console with three analog gauges for the rear passengers that provide information about the speed, outside temperature and time.

Further striking features in the cockpit are the BRABUS aluminum pedals and door-lock pins as well as the naked-carbon scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo.

To facilitate access to the rear, BRABUS developed a modification, which allows opening the rear doors further, almost at an angle of 90 degrees to the vehicle body. This allows even tall passengers to get in and out more comfortably.

Mercedes-Benz 300SL Restored by Brabus is Simply Stunning

Interested in the 300SL gullwing? You'll need a sack with $2.3 million to take it home

On one hand you have a tuner company that’s known for offering up top-notch models with massive amounts of horsepower. On the other hand, you have four beautiful one-of-a-kind Mercedes-Benz classics. Can Brabus succeed a crossover into classic restoration? As you’ll see below, the answer to that question is a resounding YES. You will not find a fiber out of place, the restorations are stunning museum quality works of art. Brabus has shown once again why they are the best of the best.

Brabus 300 SL Classic Mercedes-Benz

Brabus 300 SL Classic Mercedes-Benz

Brabus gave four classic Mercedes-Benz cars the company’s six-star restoration process because apparently, five stars won’t suffice. These cars look like they’re better suited for a private collection. Though stowing these amazing-looking classic cars away from eager eyes feels like a crime. Put these in a museum for all to see.

The four Mercedes vehicles Brabus restored were the 300 SL Gullwing, 300 SL Gullwing, 280 SE 3.5 Cabrio, and 280 SL Pagoda. Each is stunning inside, outside, and underneath. The attention to detail is impeccable.

The baby blue exterior and the cream-colored interior is a stunning combination. Up to 4,500 hours were put into the restoration, which included perfecting the authentic interior and rebuilding the engine.

This is the drop-top Mercedes that you dream about as a kid. The perfect tan interior and dark exterior give the roadster a sophisticated, luxurious presence. The details inside and out are just stunning.

The blue exterior, white canvas top, and dark-tan interior are a fantastic blend of stately attitude and luxury. This restoration took up to 2,500 hours to complete, which is still a lot of time spent on just one vehicle. But don’t fret, it looks just as good as the others.

The 280 SL Pagoda has to be one of the more unique classics restored by the tuner company. The cream-colored exterior constants with the green convertible top and interior, but in a quirky way that makes it stand out, especially with its subdued design lines.

f you’re interested in any of these beauties, Brabus Classic provides a list of its current inventory on its website. Interested in the 300SL gullwing? You’ll need a sack with $2.3 million to take it home. The Cabrios run around $740,000, and the Pagoda is “a more sensible” $370,000.

AMG G 63 MANSORY GRONOS Facelift – Luxury Off-Roader

With the premiere of the GRONOS Facelift at the Geneva Autosalon 2016, MANSORY presents a new version of its successful refinement programme for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

With the premiere of the GRONOS Facelift at the Geneva Autosalon 2016, MANSORY presents a new version of its successful refinement programme for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Based on the AMG G 63 the MANSORY GRONOS Facelift has been given new carbon aerodynamic parts, stiff enough to meet all the demands on the road and off-road. A powerful performance enhancement to an impressive 840 hp, distinctive alloy wheels 22 inches XXL format, as well as masterfully complex hand-applied leather interior complete the luxury offroader.

Mansory GRONOS Facelift

The striking main feature of the elaborately manufactured carbon body reconstruction is the significantly wider fenders. Thanks to these extensions and side skirts the G- model expands by 40 millimetres at the edges. Additionally, the front and rear have been revised by the carbon specialists at MANSORY. So, a newly designed off-road front bumper with underride protection replaces the series bumper. The rear bumper is also replaced by a customised carbon bumper. As a rule of thumb, MANSORY manufactures all of its body components with carbon. The company processes the ultra light material itself in the in-house autoclave located in Brand (not far from Bayreuth) and thus always ensures high quality standards for material and workmanship. No other company in the market is as closely linked to the use of carbon fibre as MANSORY. These specialists manufacture and process this ultra- light, extremely strong material taken from the world of motorsport in their own in- house autoclaves, which means they don’t have to rely on suppliers. This gives them complete freedom in the scope, fit and design of components.

New headlights are the core of the MANSORY Light elements design, which give the G model its totally unique appearance. In addition to the beautiful design of the front lights are the clever solutions, such as the additional indicator lights. These are now recessed under the spotlights illuminating through nine pinhead sized openings. For protection against stone chips and dirt there are four additional lights mounted on the roof of the vehicle which illuminate the coming terrain with extra strong luminosity.

Mansory GRONOS Facelift

Mansory GRONOS Facelift

In keeping with the strengthened visual appearance, MANSORY also turns the screws in the power category. To this end, the AMG 8 cylinder twin turbo has been reworked with genuine racing components installed. The turbochargers, sports airfilter, ECU and many other parts now meet the high requirements of the company owner, Kourosh Mansory. Together with the newly designed exhaust system, from the manifold to the stainless steel double end pipes that become exposed at the front of the rear wheels, outstanding performance data is achieved. Instead of 536 hp (400 kW), the GRONOS Facelift proudly achieves an impressive 840 hp (618 kW), while the maximum torque rises to an electronically limited 1.150 Nm.

Striking 23 inch MANSORY alloy wheels ensure excellent contact with the road. These also improve handling and considerably sharpen the look of the car. The charcoal-grey mono-block cast wheel with “SPIDER” designation comes equipped with tyres sized 305/35R23, guaranteeing great grip. As a alternative MANSORY offers more wheel designs like the monobloc-rim M8 in 22 an 23inch with its rotating, self adjusting hub cover.

Mansory GRONOS Facelift

The continuation of the G-models individualisation can be found in the interior. The dashboard and the entire centre console area have both been completely re- designed. The in-house interior studio has completely re-fitted the interior with carbon fibre components and lots of leather. Once more, the team has shown that MANSORY only uses the best, flawless leather, the highest quality Alcantara and of course only perfectly-produced carbon fibre.

BRABUS Reveals Mercedes C 450 4MATIC and C 43 models

Brabus officially unveiled their package for the Mercedes-Benz C 450 and C 43 AMG and it is not for the faint of heart

302 kW / 410 HP, 570 Nm and 280 km/h (173 mph) for the most powerful all-wheel-drive variant of the current Mercedes C-Class: The BRABUS PowerXtra B30-410 performance upgrade makes the C 450 4MATIC Sedan or Wagon even sportier. In addition, BRABUS also offers a sport exhaust system with actively controlled butterfly valves, tailor-made BRABUS Monoblock S 19-inch wheels and exclusive interior options for this model.

BRABUS further expands the world’s most extensive range of engine tuning for Mercedes-Benz automobiles with the new BRABUS PowerXtra B30-410 performance upgrade for the Mercedes C 450 4MATIC.

BRABUS

BRABUS

To this end, BRABUS integrates the new plug-and-play tuning module into the engine electronics of the three-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine. The auxiliary control unit provides the engine with newly calibrated mapping for injection and ignition while moderately increasing the boost pressure. After the installation, the engine pumps out an extra 32 kW / 43 HP (43 bhp) of power and puts an equally effective 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) of additional torque on tap.

302 kW / 410 HP (405 bhp) at 6,100 rpm and a peak torque of 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) at a low 3,700 rpm make the all-wheel-drive C-Class even more dynamic. The sedan equipped with BRABUS PowerXtra B30-410 upgrade accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds. In conjunction with the elimination of the electronic speed limit included in the performance upgrade, the top speed increases from 250 auf 280 km/h (155 to 174 mph).

Even more significant than the improved performance is the even more superior sensation at the wheel in everyday driving resulting from the perfect interplay between the tuned six-cylinder and the seven-speed automatic transmission. The added power across the entire engine rev range is not only reflected in even more agile driving dynamics, but when employing a comparable driving style also in further reduced fuel consumption thanks to the further optimized in-gear acceleration.

Brabus C450

BRABUS

The performance kit for the C 450 4MATIC is of course backed by the exemplary BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers / 62,000 miles (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013). Technology partner MOTUL supplies the perfect high-performance lubricants for the entire powertrain.

For further enhanced driving fun and more striking looks at the rear, BRABUS recommends the installation of the BRABUS quad sport exhaust aft of the production catalysts. The exhaust has four tailpipes and features an electronically controlled system of butterfly valves activated from the cockpit. In the “Coming Home” default setting, the C 450 is even more subdued than with the stock exhaust. In contrast, with the butterfly valves open, the six-cylinder twin-turbo sounds markedly sporty and powerful.

Of course, BRABUS offers not only powerful and highly resilient engine tuning for the Mercedes 4×4. The BRABUS designers developed tailor-made aerodynamic-enhancement components manufactured from high-grade PUR in OEM quality to give the car an even sportier appearance.

The BRABUS front spoiler attaches to the production bumper. Its central spoiler blade and the outer sections shaped like flaps from motor racing lend the vehicle an even more distinctive front. In addition, the component also reduces lift on the front axle, which further optimizes handling stability at high rates of speed.

BRABUS

BRABUS

The rear end is refined with the BRABUS rear diffuser, which provides the perfect backdrop for the four chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust. The C 450 Sedan can be upgraded additionally with the BRABUS rear spoiler, which also comes in a variant made from naked carbon.

The BRABUS Monoblock S wheels, developed especially for the 4MATIC variant with a diameter of 19 inches, also play a crucial role in the thrilling BRABUS look. The alloy wheels feature five double spokes extending all the way to the outer flange. They are mounted in size 7.5Jx19 at the front and in size 8.5Jx19 on the rear axle. BRABUS selected tires of sizes 225/40 ZR 19 and 255/35 ZR 19 as optimal.

The interior of the C 450 4MATIC can also be customized to owner preferences in every detail. The product range offers a host of custom accessories such as aluminum pedals, high-quality floor mats or scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo. The exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior appointments are made from especially soft and breathable leather and Alcantara. Like the especially classy BRABUS wood trim sets or the markedly sporty BRABUS carbon trim sets, they can be manufactured in a virtually endless variety of colors.

The A45 AMG may be the baby of the AMG lineup but the tuning company, Posaidon, managed to pull out a whopping 445 horsepower and 535 nm of torque from it.  Yes, 445 horsepower and 535 nm of torque from a 4-cylander in a car that weighs just over 3,400 pounds. As is, AMG’s 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine is considered among the best in the world of its kind, outputting 360 hp – numbers you would normally see from a V8.

Posaidon A45 AMG

If your jaw hit the floor and that’s too much power for you, Posaidon offers toned down versions. The first kit, offers a minor power bump- 385 hp and 485 Nm (357 lb-ft) of torque. Kit two is a slightly more beefed up – 405 hp and 490 Nm (361 lb-ft) of torque. But let’s all be honest, the more power the better making the third and final kit the real winner – 445 hp kit with 535 Nm of torque (394 lb-ft).

BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” Edition

BRABUS ROCKET 900 – that is the new reference for high performance in the luxury segment. BRABUS builds this supercar based on the Mercedes S 65.
BRABUS developed the especially exclusive BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” Edition, which celebrates its world debut at the DUBAI INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW 2015, as an homage to the Orient, where BRABUS maintains a company branch and a prestigious BRABUS Flagship Store in Dubai. The exclusive high-performance luxury liner is immediately recognizable not only due to its extraordinary “DESERT GOLD” special paintwork. The appearance of this special model is also characterized by BRABUS carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components and shiny black BRABUS Monoblock F “PLATINUM EDITION” 21-inch wheels with gold pin striping.
The BRABUS fine leather interior is finished in a combination of gold and black leather. Gold-colored seams in a quilting pattern created specifically for this special model furthermore distinguish the classy interior appointments.
The power plant for this luxury sedan is the BRABUS ROCKET 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine rated at 662 kW / 900 HP (887 bhp) and producing a peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft). This engine propels the four-door car from rest to 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 9.1 seconds. The top speed is in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

As the name BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” indicates, this automotive homage from BRABUS to the desert state of Dubai was painted “Desert Gold,” a color created specifically for this high-performance sedan. In addition, some 300 parts in the interior were also painted the same shade.

Carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components and high-gloss black bodywork components add tasteful contrasts. All chrome parts on the vehicle were painted black as were the BRABUS Monoblock F “PLATINUM EDITION” forged wheels, which were additionally adorned with gold-colored pin striping.

Of course, the aerodynamic properties are also essential at the extremely high speeds the BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” so effortlessly attains. To minimize lift on the front and rear axle as well as to bring them into an optimal balance, the BRABUS designers developed a bodywork conversion with sporty and elegant styling. The naked carbon components with high-gloss coating lend the luxury sedan a dynamic visual upgrade and a sporty contrast to the gold paint finish. In addition, they also optimize aerodynamic efficiency.

The BRABUS front spoiler lip and the attachments for the front bumper give the four-door car a more thrilling appearance. What is more: Thanks to their shape optimized in the wind tunnel, these components also reduce lift on the front axle, which at high speeds contributes to further improved handling stability.

The front fenders are upgraded visually with a BRABUS design element made from naked carbon. The integrated BRABUS logo is illuminated and the lights are activated with the keyless-entry remote or by pulling on a door handle. BRABUS carbon covers for the exterior mirrors represent a further sporty upgrade.

The BRABUS rear spoiler lip and a diffuser made from naked carbon round off the BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement concept. Tailor-made cutouts in the diffuser provide the perfect backdrop for the dual designer tailpipe tips of the BRABUS sports exhaust system. The tips are also painted a glossy black to match the overall concept.

In addition, BRABUS Monoblock F “Platinum Edition” high-tech cross-spoke forged wheels decisively characterize the look of the exclusive special model. BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA supply the optimal high performance tires of sizes 255/35 ZR 21 at the front and 295/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle. They are mounted on wheels of sizes 9Jx21 and 10.5Jx21.

The BRABUS AIRMATIC SPORT Unit, a special control module for the air suspension of the luxury sedan, was developed to be able to enhance the high level of dynamic handling of the high-performance luxury car further still. It lowers the ride height of the supercar by about 15 millimeters (.6 in) without compromising the outstanding ride quality.

Of course, the BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” impresses not only with its extraordinary appearance, but above all with its superior performance.

The 12-cylinder engine of the S 65 is revised in every detail in the BRABUS engine shop, which is equipped with a state-of-the-art machine park. The installation of a custom BRABUS billet crankshaft with longer stroke in concert with a larger cylinder bore, matching forged pistons and precision-balanced custom billet connecting rods increases the displacement from 5.5 to 6.3 liters (336 to 384 cubic inches).

Modifications to the engine peripherals also play a large role in the enormous power output. The two production turbos are replaced with turbochargers that have a larger compressor unit and a larger turbine as well as modified exhaust manifolds. Down pipes with a diameter of 80 millimeters (3.1 inches) are also included in the conversion, as is a stainless-steel BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts and actively controlled butterfly valve.

Just as crucial is a perfect air supply of the engine. To this end, the BRABUS engine specialists developed the BRABUS 900 intake module, which draws its air through an air duct in the hood directly from the radiator grille. The new intake manifold includes a special air filter box with larger cross-section and special filters as well as “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing for lowering the temperature.

Precisely programmed mapping for injection and ignition coordinate the perfect interaction of the high-performance components. The result is not only maximum power, but also compliance with the strict limits set by the current EURO VI emissions standards. Technology partner MOTUL supplies the high-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain.

The extensive work performed on the engine results in the BRABUS ROCKET 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo engine delivering unrivalled performance figures: the peak power of 662 kW / 900 hp (887 bhp) is produced at a low 5,500 rpm. Even more massive is the peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) at 4,200 rpm. In the car, this figure is limited electronically to 1,200 Nm (884 lb-ft).

The power is channeled to the rear wheels by a seven-speed automatic transmission adapted to the tremendous power output and a BRABUS high-performance limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent. The transmission can also be shifted manually with the BRABUS RACE aluminum paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

The performance of the BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” is on the level of full-blooded top-class sports cars. From rest, the luxury sedan sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. The sprint to 200 km/h (124 mph) takes a measly 9.1 seconds. Top speed is in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

A subtle or thrilling exhaust note accompanies this unique driving experience. The BRABUS sports exhaust system with actively controlled butterfly valve enables the owner to actively manage the sound at the touch of a button on the steering wheel. It lets the driver choose between driving the luxury sedan in a subtle and quiet “Coming Home” mode and enjoying a markedly powerful twelve-cylinder sound.

Of course, the interior of the BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” is also especially exclusive. With utmost love of detail, the BRABUS upholsterers transformed especially soft and breathable black and gold Mastik leather into a BRABUS fine leather interior in a class of its own. The embroidered “900” logo on the head restraints provides an indication of what engine is under the hood in the interior as well.

Gold-colored seams and piping add subtle accents. The interior elements such as switches and bezels also received an elaborate custom gold-colored coating. The headliner of the sedan is made from deep black Alcantara.

The BRABUS ROCKET 900 “DESERT GOLD” can be upgraded further with a state-of-the-art multimedia system by customer request.

BRABUS Refines the Mercedes G 500 4×4²

368 kW / 500 HP, 710 Nm of torque and exclusive BRABUS luxury appointments for the extreme off-roader

The four-liter eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine of the Mercedes G 500 4×4² produces an ex-factory output of 310 kW / 422 HP (415 bhp) and is consequently an excellent starting point for the new BRABUS B40 – 500 PowerXtra performance kit. The centerpiece of the conversion is a plug-and-play control module that is adapted to the electronic engine management system. BRABUS utilized complex test cycles on state-of-the-art dynamometers as well as in terrain and on the road to recalibrate the electronic boost pressure control and reprogram the mapping for injection and ignition.

The result of these modifications fully lives up to the spectacular appearance of the cross-country vehicle: An extra 58 kW / 78 HP (78 bhp) and an increase in torque by 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) make the SUV weighing more than three tons significantly more agile.

The rated power output of 368 kW / 500 HP (493 bhp) at 5,600 rpm and the high peak torque of 710 Nm (523 lb-ft), available on a plateau between 2,250 and 4,250 rpm, harmonize perfectly with the automatic transmission. Its seven speeds can also be changed manually with ergonomic BRABUS aluminum paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

Equipped with BRABUS B40 – 500 PowerXtra engine tuning, the 4×4² sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.9 seconds. The top speed of the SUV is limited electronically to 210 km/h (130 mph) to protect the all-terrain tires.

Of course, like all its other components, BRABUS backs this performance kit with the in this industry unrivalled BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013). BRABUS exclusively uses high-tech lubricants from technology partner MOTUL.

Sound, performance and longevity are the outstanding features of the BRABUS stainless-steel sports exhaust system with actively controlled butterfly valves. A button on the steering wheel lets drivers choose between a subtle “coming home” mode and a markedly powerful exhaust note in the “sport” position. The BRABUS exhaust features dual chrome tailpipes on each side of the vehicle and thereby adds some stunning visual highlights in a thrilling side pipe design.

Of course, BRABUS also lends the highest-riding G-Class model ever an even more fascinating appearance by giving the front an equally sophisticated and striking update. BRABUS front bumper panels on the left and right as well as a mirror-polished underride guard upgrade the production bumper. An additional panel under the special radiator grille with integrated BRABUS logo furthermore characterizes the face. The BRABUS hood scoop, the new radiator grille and headlamp surrounds are all made from clear-coated carbon and thereby add further distinctive highlights.

BRABUS refines the Mercedes G 500 4x4²

The special BRABUS lighting concept for the G-Class is another visual and functional highlight. It includes LED lights with chrome surrounds integrated into the BRABUS front bumper panels. The black-tinted BRABUS xenon headlamps and daytime running lights with integrated turn signal function are even more dominating features. Precise-fit covers made from clear-coated carbon replace the now redundant production turn signals on top of the fenders. In concert with the carbon structure of the hood scoop and the carbon covers for the exterior mirrors, they effectively round of the menacing front of the SUV.

In addition, BRABUS upgrades the sides with underfloor lighting for the running boards, which is activated by pulling on a door handle or by operating the keyless-entry remote.

Like its counterpart at the front, the rear underride guard is also mirror-polished. The BRABUS rear bumper completes the thrilling rear appearance of the mighty off-roader.

Another focal point of the BRABUS refinement for the Mercedes G 500 4×4² is the interior. The company upholstery shop created an exclusive BRABUS fine leather with arrow-shaped quilting from especially soft and breathable black Mastik leather for IAA 2015 show car. Red seams add an interesting contrast. An Alcantara headliner plus other Alcantara components in the interior as well as carbon inlays adds even more highlights that are striking.

Stainless-steel scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo welcome the passengers. To make getting in and out easier, BRABUS also offers optional special power-retractable BRABUS steps. The BRABUS interior designers add keen highlights with high-class aluminum components such as pedals and door pins.

Fuel economy, CO2 emissions and efficiency class:
BRABUS 500 G 4×4²: city 16.0 l/100 km, highway 12.5 l/100 km, combined: 13.8 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 323 g/km, efficiency class E.

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

From the outside, the sports car with BRABUS design impresses with aerodynamic-enhancement components made from clear-coated carbon, ultra-light BRABUS Monoblock F forged wheels, a sports suspension with a multitude of selectable settings for damping and ride height, and a sports exhaust system made from especially lightweight titanium with electronically controlled sound management.

BRABUS fine leather interiors and inlays made from real carbon and precious wood upgrade the cockpit of the two-door car.

You can never have enough power, especially in a sports car. That is why the BRABUS engine specialists have developed the PowerXtra B40 – 600 performance kit for the eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine of the GT S. A plug-and-play control module is adapted to the engine electronics. It features new mapping for injection and ignition while also moderately increasing the boost pressure. After the installation, the engine puts out an extra 66 kW / 90 HP (88 bhp) and produces 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of added torque. Of course, the tuned version complies with the same strict emissions standards as the production car.

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

After the upgrade, the GT S has a rated power output of 441 kW / 600 HP (591 bhp) at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) at 4,800 rpm. It sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds. The top speed with BRABUS engine tuning jumps from 310 to 325 km/h (190 to 201 mph).

Like all other BRABUS components, the performance kit for the GT S is backed by the exemplary BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013). Technology partner MOTUL supplies the high-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain.

The ideal complement to the engine tuning or an attractive upgrade for all standard GT or GT S models is the BRABUS quad sports exhaust made from extremely lightweight titanium with four tailpipes made from a combination of titanium and carbon. This exhaust system weighs about 40 percent less than the production exhaust and optimizes the power delivery of the V8 engine to boot. As a special feature, this exhaust is fitted with electronically controlled butterfly valves operated from the cockpit. The standard setting offers a “coming home” sound tuning that is quieter than the production exhaust. It further increases the appeal of the thrilling sports car for the neighbors when it returns home late at night. When the valves are open, the eight-cylinder sounds significantly sportier and more powerful than with the production exhaust.

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

The material of choice for the BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement components is lightweight yet extremely strong carbon, the same material used in Formula 1 racing. The components were developed in the wind tunnel and lend the GT or GT S version of the sports car a more thrilling design while optimizing the aerodynamics. All bodywork components come with a clear-coated carbon racing-look finish. They are also available with a matte coating and can optionally be painted in vehicle or contrasting color.

The front bumper of the coupe receives a visual upgrade with the BRABUS front spoiler. What is more: at high speeds, lift on the front axle is further reduced, resulting in even more stable handling. The two BRABUS covers for the side air intakes of the bumper lend the two-seater an even more striking face while optimizing the routing of cooling air. Integrated LED side markers optimize active safety.

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS also sharpens the profile of the sports car: the new design air outlets for the front fenders lend the GT S a full-blooded racing touch. They immediately catch the eye due to their integrated BRABUS logotypes that light up in blue when the keyless-entry remote or a door handle are operated. The BRABUS rocker panels give the front-engine sports car an even lower and sleeker visual stance. They also optimize the airflow between the front and rear wheel arches.

The rear receives a more athletic look with the BRABUS rear airfoil and the BRABUS diffuser with tailor-made cutouts for the four tailpipes of the BRABUS sports exhaust system. In addition, these aerodynamic-enhancement components also contribute to optimized handling stability at high speeds.

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

The forged wheels were custom-developed for the GT and GT S and also play an essential role in the thrilling BRABUS look. The staggered tire/wheel combination with diameters of 20 inches on the front axle and 21 inches at the rear adds further emphasis to the wedge shape of the two-seater.

Thanks to a manufacturing process that uses state-of-the-art forging technology, the BRABUS Monoblock F “PLATINUM EDITION” cross-spoke wheels are extremely light yet especially robust. The wheels are available with a mirror-polished, brushed or titanium-colored finish and come in sizes 9.5Jx20 at the front and 11Jx21 on the rear axle. Technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA supply the extremely wide high-performance tires of sizes 275/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 21.

The BRABUS sports springs are tailored specifically to these low profile tires. They lower the ride height of GT S by about 15 millimeters (.6 inches).

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S

For the cockpit of the sports car, the BRABUS interior designers have developed exclusive accessories such as carbon scuff plates with stainless-steel inserts and a backlit BRABUS logo, whose color changes between red and white, and matte anodized or chrome-plated aluminum pedals. Special BRABUS aluminum paddle shifters in an even more ergonomic position on the steering wheel make even more precise gear changes possible.

The BRABUS upholstery shop creates BRABUS fine leather interiors finished with masterful workmanship for the GT and GT S as well. They can be tailored as precisely to the owner’s preferences with regard to the choice of leather, Alcantara and color as the design and the upholstery.

Individual requests can also be fulfilled when it comes to the inlays for the dashboard, center console and door panels. BRABUS manufactures carbon and precious wood trim sets in any desired color and with many different surface finishes.

MANSORY refining program limits fine-tuning of the series chassis for the sedan whereas for the S-63 coupé, no stone is left unturned. Extensive modifications transform the series design into a muscular athletic package. The redesigned front with its LED day driving lights and the powerful cooling air inlets ensures an awe-inspiring appearance. The new lightweight hood with integrated NACA nozzles complete the MANSORY air control system optimised for the supply of fresh air to the front motor. The new carbon fender at the front and the seamlessly integrated spacers on rear fenders widen the sides by 50 millimetres and give the S-Coupé its distinctive and dynamic appearance.

Additionally, perfect harmony is maintained with the new side skirts as well as the carbon housing of the side mirrors. The roof spoiler and rear lip made of carbon fibre as well as the diffuser style designed rear bumper, complete the sporty look. But not only do the MANSORY components look good through the in-house autoclave manufacturing from the carbon material, they are also extremely durable and especially light. No other company in the market is as closely linked to the use of carbon fibre as MANSORY. These specialists manufacture and process this ultra-light, extremely strong material taken from the world of motorsport in their own in-house autoclaves, which means they don’t have to rely on suppliers. This gives them complete freedom in the scope, fit and design of components. The MANSORY sports exhaust for the DIAMOND EDITION is responsible for a throaty and imposing sound. The rear silencer, which is made from stainless steel with its angular twin tailpipes, perfectly integrates itself into the newly designed rear section.

But MANSORY is much more than just a powerful sound. Even the performance potential of the eight-cylinder biturbo is utilised by the engine developers at MANSORY. MANSORY has completely revised the aggregate of the S 63 AMG and installed genuine high-performance components with the M1000 performance Kit: With this Power-Upgrade, connecting rods, big end bearings, crankshaft, bearing bushings, turbocharger, suction and compressor system, as well as many other parts replace the serial parts. Together with the newly conceived pipe fan manifolds this results in superb performance values. Instead of 576 hp (430 kW) the heavily modified S Class now achieves an impressive 985 hp (735 kW) while the maximum torque climbs to an electronically limited 1,400 Nm at 1,500 – 3,500 rpm. So when fired up the MANSORY DIAMOND EDITION rockets to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and only stops at an electronically regulated 300 km/h. The rim program is impressive in both its scale and its extent. Whether stylishly sporty or luxuriously refined- MANSORY offers various wheel designs and sizes. The latest development is the one-piece 22 inch Multispoke alloy wheel. As for perfect tyres, MANSORY recommends ULTRAC SESSANTA tyres from Vredestein in size 255/30/ZR22 on the front axle and 295/25/ZR22 on the rear axle. Totally in keeping with the Mercedes traditional brand which in the interior places value on comfort, elegance but also sportiness, MANSORY offers exclusive interior applications: Therefore aluminium pedals as well as the newly designed steering wheel give a sporty accent. The set of foot mats, which are framed in leather with embroidered MANSORY emblem, as well as the illuminated door sill trims, underline the elegant effect. A highlight of the interior refinement is the elaborately hand-shirred and expertly stitched seats. On request MANSORY will individualise the complete interior in their in-house saddlery with leather, carbon, wood or other exclusive materials.

The roadster has gained a full carbon fiber body which has shaved off a massive 160 kg (353 lbs) over the standard SL while the headlights & taillights, rear side window and rear window have been specifically designed for this tuning job.

As standard, the C25 Super GT Final Edition is motivated by a V8 engine delivering 450 HP (331 kW) but at an additional cost the customer can opt for a V12 bi-turbo 6.0-liter motor developing 753 HP (554 kW) and a massive 1,320 Nm (973 lb-ft) of torque which will be electronically capped at 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft).
Performance figures have not been disclosed but in the previous special edition the V12 version catapulted to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 3.7 seconds before topping out at 219 mph (352 km/h).

Prospect buyers should know that it takes about 11 months from order until the car is ready for delivery. Those who are willing to pay more can add carbon ceramic composite brakes, stainless steel sport exhaust with large aluminum tailpipe outlets while an iPhone app to control the C-Tronic suspension is also available.

ARES Atelier has created the “Mercedes-Benz S-Class XXL” which they describe as being the “epitome of representative automobiles.”

The S-Class Pullman will likely be introduced in March at the Geneva Motor Show but ARES Atelier has already prepared a similar version by stretching the chassis of the regular S-Class and installing a carbon fiber body kit. Aside from a reinforced chassis structure, the S-Class XXL has also received a series of other upgrades such as 6mm thick tempered side glass, beefier brakes, revised gearbox and 21-inch wheels.

More changes are noticeable inside the cabin where there are “vis-à-vis first class rear seats”, Nappa leather upholstery, consoles with cooling boxes & glasses storage, as well as a 17-inch foldable HD screen on the ceiling, electric curtains, iPads, WLAN with external antenna and an upgraded sound system. At an additional cost, the customer can order an armored variant which can even include a bomb detector.

ARES Atelier doesn’t mention the identity of the engine but they do say it can be upgraded to more than 600 HP (441 kW) so it’s most likely the V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo which delivers 530 HP (390 kW) in the S600. With the power package installed, the S-Class XXL will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h).
