2011 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Spy Photos Again Uncovered

If you've been patiently awaiting the arrival of the 2011 Mercedes SLK-Class, we've got your latest look at the next roadster

If you’ve been patiently awaiting the arrival of the next-generation Mercedes  SLK-Class, we’ve got your latest look at the new roadster, with the camouflage minimal enough to give a relatively clear view of what we can expect.  Up front, the new grille has clearly been inspired by the SLS AMG, while the headlights, hood and front bumper have all been re-worked to match the new design.  In the rear, the changes are a  little more subtle, with noticeable differences including a now fluid trunk line (the current SLK’s trunk link bends around the tail lights) as well as smaller tail lights overall.  Under the hood, rumors are still indicating that one of the ways power will be supplied is by Mercedes’ 2.2-litre BlueEfficiency four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel (which develops 152kW and 500Nm of torque).  Of course, power will also come from a variety of petrol engines, including a possible 3.5 litre twin-turbo V6 developing somewhere in the 220 to 260kW range.

As always, we’ll keep you posted as new details of the 2011 Mercedes SLK are revealed; in the meantime, check out more 2011 SLK spy photos in the gallery below.  Thanks to Autojunk.nl and TheMotorReport.com.au for the pictures.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Testing on the Nurburgring

More spy photos have emerged highlighting the next-generation 2013 Mercedes SL-Class undergoing testing on the Nurburgring

New spy photos have emerged that give us another glimpse as to what we can expect from the next-generation Mercedes SL-Class – a model that’s said to be coming mid to late 2012 as a 2013 model.  Unfortunately, Mercedes’ false body panels are still in place, masking much of the roadster’s actual contours; however, if you remember the last series of SL spy photos we brought you, it appears as though the model’s profile is notedly similar to that of the current SL.  Things that are said to be changing include a lower weight, thanks to a new lightweight aluminum spaceframe chassis, as well as a lower, wider stance to improve the model’s handling characteristics.  Also rumored is a variety of component sharing with the SLS, including both suspension and the SLS AMG’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

We’ll of course keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime, you can view more of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class in the gallery below, or head over to TMR for the full story.

More 2011 Mercedes CLS63 AMG Spy Photos Emerge

If you didn't get enough spy photos of the 2011 Mercedes CLS63 AMG in our last article, here's a second batch

If you didn’t get enough spy photos of the 2011 Mercedes CLS63 AMG in our last article, here’s a second batch giving you yet another look at the model – this time, with its rear prominently on display.  As you’ll see, the tail light shape is clearly visible, as are the rear spoiler and quad exhaust.  Also notable is the contour of the rear wheel arch – reminiscent of the current E-Class in that it carries through to the design of the tail light (albeit it in far sportier form).  Like the next-generation ML63 AMG, look for AMG’s new twin-turbocharged 5.5-Liter V8 with subsequent output of 544 bhp and 590 lb ft torque to make its way into the 2011 CLS63 AMG; an optional Performance Pack moves it to roughly 570 bhp and 663 lb ft torque mark.

Look for the 2011 Mercedes CLS-Class to make its debut later this year at the Paris Motor Show along with a (rumored) CLS wagon concept at next week’s Beijing Motor Show; in the meantime, check out the gallery below for the latest 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG spy photos.  Thanks to Car Magazine and autoevolution for the pictures.

2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Spy Photos

New spy photos reveal the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class with minimal camouflage, giving us our best look yet at the model

We’re getting closer to the refresh of the already beautiful Mercedes CLS-Class, and while we wait, we’ve got some new spy photos giving us hints as to what we can expect from the 2011 version of the four door coupe.  These pics may be among the best I’ve seen, as you can see clearly the CLS’s single-louvre grille, front headlamp shape, a large portion of the rear tail light shape, and the model’s overall profile.  Also, it looks as though the wheelbase has been lengthened slightly, but it’s difficult to say for certain without actually measuring it.  As for the inside, there’s not a whole lot to guess, as photos broke back in December revealing a completely undisguised interior.  If you missed them, I included them here as well, saving you from having to search them out on Google for yourself  (note:  the interior shots are from the non-AMG variant of the CLS, not the CLS63 AMG).

Look for the 2011 Mercedes CLS-Class to hit dealerships early next year.  To see more of the new model, check out the gallery below for the spy shots and interior photos.  Thanks to CarAdvice for the spy shots and CarScoop and WorldCarFans for the looks at the interior.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG Spy Photos

New spy photos have emerged showcasing the 2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG undergoing a round of testing near the Nurburgring

New spy photos have emerged showcasing the 2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG undergoing a round of testing near the Nurburgring.  Unfortunately heavy masking and body panels make viewing the ML’s design elements difficult to discern, to say the least, however a few attributes that at present are known include a double louvre grille, LED headlights and a more upright front end to meet more stringent European pedestrian safety standards.  Expect the 2012 M-Class’ wheelbase length to remain similar to that of the current model’s (perhaps a bit shorter in an effort to increase efficiency); also in the ML63 variant, look for AMG’s new twin-turbocharged 5.5-Liter V8 with an output of 544 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque (an optional Performance Pack could boost output to 571 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque).  The 2012 M-Class is expected to hit the market in the middle of 2011.

We’ll keep you posted as any new details of the 2012 Mercedes ML63 AMG emerge; in the meantime, check out the collection of next-generation M-Class spy photos in the gallery below.  Thanks to Motor Trend and Motor Authority for the photos.

2011 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Spy Photos Revealed

Spy photos of the 2011 Mercedes S-Class Coupe continue to emerge, with the newest pictures showing the model with minimal disguise

Spy photos of the forthcoming 2011 Mercedes S-Class Coupe continue to emerge, with the newest pictures showing the model with minimal disguise (in case you’ve forgotten, the S-Class Coupe is the new name for the current CL-Class, bringing the model’s naming convention more in line with the SEC models from the ’80s).  But don’t let the name fool you – this is still your typical mid-life revision, meaning the S-Class Coupe will remain very much the same as it is now, with minor changes.  Up front, look for revised headlights, a slightly re-contoured two-louvre front grille, LED running lights and a slightly altered bumper.  In the back, the tail lights will receive a bit of updating as will the rear bumper.

Word has it the 2011 S-Class Coupe will see its debut this summer – possibly at the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed – with sales expected to start this fall.  We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime, you can view the spy photos of the 2011 Mercedes S-Class Coupe in the gallery below, or head over to Car for the full article.

2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class AMG in the Works

AMG boss Volker Mornhinweg confirms plans to develop a Mercedes-Benz B-Class AMG variant

Reports are coming in today detailing Mercedes’ plans to offer an AMG B-Class variant.  According to current AMG boss Volker Mornhinweg, Mercedes plans to expand the AMG range to include the subcompact model, which the company believes will help attract younger buyers.  Changes are said to follow AMG’s traditional range of improvements including revised chassis tuning, exterior enhancements and a higher-performance engine (likely a tuned four-cylinder) that will be hand-built in AMG’s Affalterbach, Germany factory.

Currently the Mercedes B-Class AMG is slated for a late 2011 launch with a 2012 model year designation; at present, there’s still no word as to whether or not we’ll be seeing any B-Class variants making it to the United States.  Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche has confirmed Mercedes will be expanding their compact range beyond hatchback versions, with rumors indicating we could see compact sedan, coupe and roadster models.  If Mercedes does expand the range to include multiple compact variants, one would have to assume that at least some will be destined for the U.S. market.  As always, we’ll keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime, you can check out some second-generation B-Class spy photos below, or head over to Motor Authority for the full B-Class spy photo gallery.

2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate Spy Photos

Spy photos of the revised Mercedes C-Class Estate show a slightly streamlined exterior while an interior update is expected as well

If you’re wondering what the future holds for the Mercedes C-Class Estate, our friends at Autoblog caught a view of the model undergoing a bit of mid-life revision testing.  Like its sedan counterpart, changes to the C-Class Estate will include a new hood and bumpers, trimmed-down headlights, a heightened grille, LED taillights, and revised rear fascia.  If the covering inside the C-Class is any indication, we’ll likely be seeing a few improvements on the model’s interior as well, but as is the case with the exterior, changes should be relatively minor.  As always, we’ll keep you posted if we hear anything new.  In the meantime, you can view more 2011 C-Class Estate spy photos below, then head over to Autoblog for the full story.

Next-Generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Spy Photos Uncovered

New spy photos of the next-generation Mercedes SL show the model's revised front fascia and overall proportions

New spy photos have emerged thanks to the fine gentlemen of Motor Trend that provide some glimpses as to what we can expect from the next-generation Mercedes SL-Class.  Making the spy photos even better is the fact that accompanying the next-gen SL, a current model is also present, thus making comparisons between the two a little easier task.

Overall, it appears the next SL will maintain overall proportions similar to the current model (in other words, this isn’t going to be anywhere near magnitude of changes we saw the SL undergo in 2003).  A flatter nose is visible, even with heavier camouflage up front, while repositioned mirrors are another obvious change.  Inside, new air vents like those of the SLS AMG are present, while the navigation screen has been enlarged and moved up.

As for the rest of the changes, I’ll let you check out the photos and judge for yourself.  To see more of the next-generation Mercedes SL, visit the spy photo gallery below or head over to Motor Trend where you can view the original article in its entirety.

2011 Mercedes SLK Spy Photos Revealed

New spy photos reveal the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLK will share a number of styling traits with the new SLS AMG

New spy photos have emerged today showcasing the next-generation 2011 Mercedes SLK-Class.  Looking at the photos, numerous styling traits from the SLS AMG are present, with notable similarities including the front grille and overall shape in the rear.  From a size standpoint, the 2011 SLK appears to maintain the general proportions of the current model, while the retractable hard top remains present as well.

Rumors indicate the 2011 Mercedes SLK could make an appearance as early as September at the Paris Auto Show, while some expect it will debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.  Whenever the official launch, expect the roadster to be powered by a new range of engines, including (for the first time) a diesel variant.  We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime you can see more 2011 SLK spy photos in the gallery below or view the full SLK spy gallery over at Car Advice.

Renderings of 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster Leaked

Leaked drawings from the European patent office outline the forthcoming 2012 SLS AMG Roadster from a number of angles

It’s certainly no secret Mercedes has been working on a roadster variant of the SLS AMG, and now new renderings have appeared from the European patent office outlining (literally) the model from a variety of angles.  As expected, the SLS AMG Roadster will be equipped with a cloth top as well as traditional front-hinged doors.   Aside from these differences, the model will maintain the overall form of the traditional Gullwing variant.

Rumor has it production of the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster will commence in early 2011, while European deliveries will start at the end of spring the same year.  For more details of the 2012 Mercedes SLS Roadster, you can check out the full gallery below.

2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Spy Photos Emerge

It seems like just yesterday we met the new Mercedes C-Class, but already the model's approaching its mid-life update

It seems like just yesterday the world was introduced to the completely redesigned Mercedes C-Class, but already the model’s approaching its mid-life refreshening. Thanks to Car Advice, we’ve got some hints as to what we can expect, with notable changes including rennovated front and rear bumpers, a tweaked bonnet, new headlights and a heightened grille.

Under the hood there’ll likely be a few enhancements as well, which one would have to assume will be aimed at making the already efficient model even more economical to operate.  We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime, check out the some of the 2011 C-Class spy photos in the gallery below and head over to Car Advice for the full story.

Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Coupe Spy Photos Emerge

Judging by the photos, the 2011 CL-Class will receive Mercedes' traditional mid-life revitalization while maintaining its overall form

New spy photos emerged yesterday courtesy of AutoZeitung.com showcasing a nearly undisguised CL-Class (some are saying the model will be re-branded the S-Class Coupe).  Either way, it’s what you’d expect from a traditional mid-life revision, with the usual headlight and tail light tweaks, slightly altered grille, etc., while overall, cosmetic changes are going to be relatively minor.

As always, we’ll keep you posted as new details of the CL-Class / S-Class Coupe emerge; in the meantime, check out more CL spy photos below or head over to AutoZeitung.com for the full gallery.

2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Spy Photos Emerge

Until now, the only spy photos of the forthcoming 2011 Mercedes CLS-Class have been of the non-AMG variant – that is, until today

Up until now, the  only spy photos of the forthcoming 2011 Mercedes CLS-Class have been of the non-AMG variant – that is, until today.  That’s because the gentlemen over at SpeedLux.com have managed to capture the next-generation CLS63 AMG in action, providing those of you eager for the next high horsepowered four door coupe the first glimpses of what to expect from the model.

Unfortunately, heavy body paneling still adorns the model, making it difficult to discern the various design lines of the CLS.  What we can expect, however, is power similar to that of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, meaning an AMG-built 386 kW/525 hp V8 with 630 Nm torque.

We’ll keep you posted as new details of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG are released; in the meantime, keep scrolling for a few of the spy photos highlighting the model, then head over to SpeedLux.com for the full action-packed gallery.

2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Cabrio Spied Testing On The Nürburgring

New spy photos have emerged highlighting the not-yet-released cabriolet version of the model testing on the famous Nürburgring

While we’re on the topic of the Mercedes SLS AMG, new spy photos have emerged today highlighting the not-yet-released cabriolet version of the model testing on the world famous Nürburgring.  It’s still tough to tell whether or not the SLS cabrio will feature a retractable hard top (as opposed to a soft top), but one thing that is clear is the fact the Gullwing doors are no more (a fact visible from prior spy photos as well).

Also present on this version of the SLS AMG Cabriolet is a prominent rear spoiler, a feature that up until now we haven’t seen.

To see more of the upcoming Mercedes SLS AMG Cabriolet being put through its paces, keep scrolling for a few additional photos, then head over to SpeedLux.com for the full article and gallery.

Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class Spy Photos Emerge

New spy photos have emerged showcasing the next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class undergoing a bit of fair weather testing

New spy photos have emerged showcasing the next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class undergoing a bit of fair weather testing.  Unfortunately, the four door coupe is heavily masked with plenty of false panelling, so distinguishing its various design elements is still an impossible task.  Parts of the front grille, headlights and tail lights, are however, a little more clear than they’ve been in the past, revealing a few subtle hints about what lies in store for the model.

More Spy Photos Of The 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Convertible

The retractable roof is heavily masked, leaving us to speculate, but up front we now have a much clearer view of the front apron

Last week we brought you spy photos of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Convertible, and today we’ve got another slightly more revealing look at the model. The retractable roof is still heavily masked, leaving us to speculate about both its exact contours and construction, but up front we now have a much clearer view of the front apron.  The rear is also still heavily masked; however, with a little imagination you can probably surmise fairly well what the back is going to look like.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet Spy Photos Emerge

Autoblog.nl grabbed some spy photos of the 2010 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet, and as you can see, the model is nearly unmasked

It’s been extremely slow the past week for any new Mercedes news, but today we’ve finally managed to find a story worth posting thanks to our friends at Autoblog.nl. They managed to grab some spy photos of the forthcoming 2010 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet, and as you can see, the model is nearly unmasked.

From a technical standpoint, there really isn’t anything worth mentioning that isn’t already known. Power and technical features should be directly in line with the 2010 Mercedes E-Class Coupe, while the main difference (i.e., the cloth top) is clearly visible in the photos.

2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Convertible Spy Photos Emerge

Over several months, Mercedes has done little to hide the fact they're developing a new 571 horsepower model known as the SLS AMG

Over the past several months, Mercedes has done little to hide the fact they’re developing a new 571 horsepower model known as the SLS AMG – a model developed entirely in-house by AMG that’s based heavily on the legendary 300SL. Up until now, it’s a model that’s been distinguished by its Gullwing-style doors, but today, spy photos have emerged hilighting the fact that like the original 300SL, the SLS too will be available as a convertible.

Due to the camouflage, it’s difficult to divulge too much about the convertible top. However, it’s clear the model features traditional doors, and from a performance standpoint, 0-62mph times when compared to the coupe version of the SLS will likely be a couple tenths off (about 4.0 seconds, as opposed to the 3.8 seconds Mercedes is claiming for the Gullwing).

We’ll keep you posted as new details of the 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG Convertible emerge

Next-Generation Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Spied Testing on the Nürburgring

New spy shots have emerged today depicting the next-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class running test laps on the Nürburgring

New spy shots have emerged today depicting the next-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class running test laps on the Nürburgring.  Clad in heavy camouflage and temporary body panels, little of the model’s styling is visible, leaving us to wonder what exactly lies in store for the next roadster.

As far an engines are concerned, rumors indicate that the next-generation SLK will receive at least one diesel power plant in addition to its petrol counterparts – whether or not it will make it to the U.S. is an entirely different story.  An SLK55 AMG is expected to top off the range, while a hybrid version has also been mentioned as a possibility.

We’ll keep you posted as new details of the next-generation Mercedes SLK are revealed.
