It was only last year that the SLS AMG Coupe was reworked, receiving the “GT” moniker.  In addition to the GT stamp, it also received an extra 12 bhp (9 kW) from the V8 6.2-liter engine which currently outputs 583 bhp (434 kW). At the time it also received a revised AMG Adaptive Performance Suspension that offered better handling and improved road surface adaptation. The 2013 SLS AMG GT Coupe also benefited from a refined dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox, changing gears faster and smoother.

But with all these changes completed last year, why are we now seeing spy photos of the roadster testing with minor camouflage.  Mercedes is likely updating the SLS AMG GT Coupe’s safety features and its infotainment (COMAND) systems.  Under the camo are a few minor styling changes to the front bumper, headlights and grille.

THE VÄTH SLS AMG ROADSTER ACCELERATES TO A SPRINT FROM ZERO TO 100 KM/H IN A MERE 3.6 SECONDS

We’ve seen their SLS AMG Coupe before and now it’s time to present their Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster. German tuner Väth Automobiltechnik fitted the SLS AMG Roadster with a supercharger that has an air box to increase power output from the SLS AMG 6.2 liter V8 engine. The roadster also received an ECU tune which increases the Vmax as well. The engine now puts out a whopping 702hp and 850Nm of torque for a 0-100km/h sprint time of a mere 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h.

More efficient fuel cooling and an enlarged gear box oil cooler have also been added to the Roadster in addition to the brakes which have been changed for a set of high performance brake discs measuring 405mm and with steel flax lines. A stainless steel exhaust system with throttle control is an extra options or, as an alternative, there is also a stainless steel exhaust system with sports catalyst.

The wheels are three-part forged Väth designs measuring 9.5×20 inches at the front with 265/30-20 tires and 12×20 inches at the rear with 315/25-20 tires. Väth also developed a new suspension option with threaded sports springs available for cars with AMG Ride Control.

Aeroynamc adjustments by Vath include a bodykit featuring a front spoiler, boot spoiler, side skirts and extra brake ventilation, all constructed from high quality naked carbon fiber. For the interior, the SLS AMG gets an updated sporty steering wheel with plenty of interior options also available with materials ranging from leather, carbon fiber and fine woods! A new speedometer has also been fitted to show up to 400km/h.

The total cost for the package is 85,130 euro inclusive of VAT. Individual parts are available upon request.
