Video: Mercedes Benz Answer to the Car of the Future

The Ener-G-Force is the vision of an off-roader that, while reflecting tomorrow’s adventures, invokes the genes of a Mercedes-Benz

Everyone has heard of the G-Class — an icon of style and design since more than 30 years. The Ener-G-Force, designed by Mercedes-Benz Advanced Designers for the LA Desgin Challege is a police car of the future based on the G-Class.  A more rounded and sophisticated design, the Ener-G-Force gives us a glimpse at what we may be able to expect from future Mercedes-Benz designs across the board.

“The Ener-G-Force is the vision of an off-roader that, while reflecting tomorrow’s adventures, also invokes the genes of the Mercedes-Benz off-road icon, the G model. Modern and cool, it could also be a clue about a new beginning for the off-road design idiom of Mercedes-Benz”, said Gorden Wagener, Director of Design at Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Mercedes-Benz Premieres Three Vehicles at LA Auto Show

The new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Black Series, a smart fortwo electric drive with wings, and the Ener-G-Force Debut

World-class high technology and new design ideas which break beyond conventional boundaries are to be featured by Mercedes‑Benz at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. Three newcomers will be celebrating their premiere on this automotive stage: the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Black Series, a smart fortwo electric drive which fashion designer Jeremy Scott has bestowed with wings, and the Ener-G-Force one-off vehicle featuring the genes of the Mercedes-Benz G‑Class. It shows how the off-road classic may still be able to influence the off-road design idiom of Stuttgart’s premium automotive manufacturer in the future.

With the new SLS AMG Coupé Black Series, Mercedes-AMG is all set to present the high-end version of the already legendary gullwing model. Inspired by the racing version of the SLS AMG GT3, the super sports car excites with a breathtaking design, outstanding driving dynamics and consistent lightweight construction. With a kerb weight of 1550 kg it is around 70 kg lighter than the SLS AMG, and achieves what even for super sports cars is an outstanding power/weight ratio of 2.45 kg/hp. Its AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine produces 464 kW (631 hp) at 7400 rpm and accelerates the gullwing model to a speed of 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

The AMG RIDE CONTROL Performance suspension, the AMG high-performance ceramic composite brake system and the weight-optimised forged AMG light-alloy wheels with newly developed sports tyres, all help to raise the driving dynamics of the SLS AMG Black Series to a new level. Also making a contribution in this respect are the electronically controlled AMG rear-axle differential lock and the enhanced AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. The AMG Aerodynamics package is optionally available to further boost the vehicle’s driving dynamics.

A functional, sporty racing car atmosphere is prevalent inside the SLS AMG Coupé Black Series, with high-quality materials demonstrating precision workmanship and exquisitely designed details, including the generous use of carbon fibre as found in the world of motorsport.

The market launch of the SLS AMG Coupé Black Series will commence in June 2013. The price in Germany (incl. 19% VAT) for the SLS AMG Coupé Black Series will be €249,900

Ener-G-Force – the off-roader for tomorrow and beyond

The question of whether the genes of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class dating from 1979 will still be asserting themselves in the distant future is being demonstrated by Mercedes-Benz in Los Angeles in the guise of a cool design study: the Ener-G-Force. According to Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz Cars: “The Ener-G-Force is the vision of an off-roader that, while reflecting tomorrow’s adventures, also invokes the genes of the Mercedes-Benz off-road icon, the G model. Modern and cool, it could also be a clue about a new beginning for the off-road design idiom of Mercedes-Benz”.

Built as 1:1-scale model, the design study is clearly inspired by the G-Class but presents a radical reinterpretation of this classic that looks far into the future. Important genes such as proportions and design elements were adopted conceptually and completely redesigned and updated in a clean concept for tomorrow and beyond. While the clear design idiom of the G-Class has remained, all surfaces are designed to express intensity and tension. The meticulously executed details are also a clear indication that the Ener-G-Force is the product of modern times. Like the G-Class, the Ener-G-Force sports a front with an expressive radiator grille that incorporates the headlamps. LEDs in the headlamps form lamp units in the shape of a G. This gives the Ener-G-Force a strong, iconic appearance and demonstrates dominance. The front indicators and position lights are mounted on top of the wings as a significant G-Class element.

Thanks to alternative drive systems, the Ener-G-Force should also be exceptionally environmentally friendly and able to demonstrate enhanced green-car characteristics. Four wheel-hub motors, whose output for each individual wheel is adapted precisely to the respective terrain by high-performance electronics, are designed to provide the pulling power. The striking side skirts also house quick-change battery packs. Changes in the colour of the illumination of the side skirts indicate the operating and charge status of the energy packs. A roof carrier and additional lamps are integrated into the roof.

The design study shows that the off-road classic from Mercedes-Benz, whose continuous history goes all the way back to the 1970s, could in fact tackle the future in a stylistically and technologically advanced version.

The smart grows wings

Internationally acclaimed fashion designer Jeremy Scott has used his imagination to give a smart fortwo electric drive a makeover and create an electric car which is full of a sense of ease and joie de vivre – and all set to launch a new era of urban mobility. A striking feature of the smart forjeremy is a set of wings, a typical trademark of the American star designer. They look like ignited rockets, and as such take on the form of avant-garde rear lights.

The luxurious interior of the smart forjeremy is like a dream in white with chrome highlights, thus appropriately continuing the exclusive, elegant colour design of the exterior. The smart forjeremy is based on the current series production version of the smart fortwo electric drive and is not expected to remain an unattainable pipe dream. On the contrary, this haute-couture version is to be launched onto the market next year in the form of a special limited-edition model.

2012 LA Auto Show Design Challenge

2025 Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force In-Depth

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force is the vision of an off-roader that, while reflecting tomorrow's adventures

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class became a civilian SUV in 1979, is it possible that it will still be around in 2025, keeping it’s title as the longest produced Mercedes-Benz in Daimler’s history? If the beloved G-Class is still in production for the next 15 years, it begs the question, what will the future G-Class look like? The most recent design study from Mercedes-Benz demonstrates how the genes of the classic off-roader may still assert themselves in the far future. It is based on the concept of a future police car developed for the Los Angeles Design Challenge.

The Los Angeles Design Challenge 2012 looks far ahead with a quest for the “Highway Patrol Vehicle 2025”. Law enforcement will have to prepare for even more crowded roads with electronically monitored and guided traffic, a much larger population and changes in human behaviour. People will feel young and active until even later in life. Outdoor activities will dominate leisure, the desire for freedom and adventure. The new times will also call for new police vehicles. They must be able to reach any place conceivable quickly and reliably – even far away from any pavement. And they must do so in an exceptionally environmentally friendly way using alternative energy sources. Enhanced green-car characteristics and off-road capabilities will be among the fundamental virtues of a police car in 2025.

2025 Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force SUV rendering

2025 Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force

As an environmentally friendly SUV, the Ener-G-Force, which Mercedes-Benz is presenting in Los Angeles as a design study, meets these requirements and would be fully capable of supporting police and emergency services in every corner of the world. Gorden Wagener, Director of Design at Mercedes-Benz Cars: “The Ener-G-Force is the vision of an off-roader that, while reflecting tomorrow’s adventures, also invokes the genes of the Mercedes-Benz off-road icon, the G model. Modern and cool, it could also be a clue about a new beginning for the off-road design idiom of Mercedes-Benz”.

The small glass areas make the police vehicle a safe cocoon for law enforcement officers who are faced with many dangers. Emergency lights integrated into the roof ensure attention that is impossible to ignore; the striking front leaves no doubt as to the commanding presence of the police, and the gigantic wheels guarantee the right of way even where no way exists.

Back from the future – clean concept for beyond tomorrow

Of course the concept of the Ener-G-Force for the Los Angeles Design Challenge is pure, rendered science fiction. However, the notion of designing tomorrow’s off-roader fascinated the designers at the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio in Carlsbad, California to such an extent that they evolved the vision of a police version into a civilian version and even built a 1:1-scale model. Like the “Highway Patrol Vehicle 2025”, the shape of the civilian Ener-G-Force is modelled after the G-Class, the off-road icon whose continuous history goes all the way back to the 1970s and that to this very day still tackles the future as a stylistically and technologically advanced SUV.

Like the police version, the model of the civilian Ener-G-Force is unmistakably inspired by the G-Class, which has long been considered an automotive icon. However, it presents a radical reinterpretation of this classic that looks far into the future. Important genes such as proportions and design elements were adopted conceptually and completely redesigned and updated in a clean concept for beyond tomorrow. Ener-G-Force Designer Hubert Lee: “Of course we wanted to take a clear step forward, but we also wanted the G’s characteristic features”. The Ener-G-Force has a similar profile, however with a high shoulder line and scaled-down glass areas.

2025 Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force SUV

2025 Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force

While the clear design idiom of the G-Class has remained, all surfaces are designed to express intensity and tension. The meticulously executed details also are a clear indication that the Ener-G-Force is the product of modern times.

The mounted roof distinctive to the G-Class and the tripartite glass area also cite the fundamental genes of the classic off-roader from Mercedes-Benz, but represent a clear step forward. This is also evident in the large wheels, whose 20-inch rims give the Ener-G-Force a powerful, towering stance. The Ener-G-Force also plays on the utility factor in an entirely new way. For instance, the distinctive feature in the rear is a slightly off-centre pull-out compartment whose cover takes up the characteristic look of the spare wheel carrier of the classic G-Class. This pull-out tool box can hold a wide variety of equipment items that consequently are quickly in reach without having to open the whole liftgate.

Bursting with energy

The Ener-G-Force stores recycled water in tanks on the roof, and transfers it to the “hydro-tech converter,” where natural and renewable resources are converted into hydrogen for operating the fuel cells. The storage units for the electricity generated in this process are housed easily accessible in the striking side skirts. The Ener-G-Force emits nothing but water, has an operating range of about 800 kilometres and as a result truly is a green car. Four wheel-hub motors, whose output for each individual wheel is adapted precisely to the respective terrain by high-performance electronics, provide the pulling power. A “Terra-Scan” 360-degree topography scanner on the roof permanently scans the surroundings and uses the results to adjust the spring and damping rates as well as other suspension parameters for maximum traction on the respective surface, regardless of whether it is in terrain or on the road. The strikingly styled side skirts house either the energy storage units or hot-swappable battery packs. Changes in the colour of the illumination of the side skirts indicate the operating and charge status of the energy packs. A roof carrier and additional lamps are integrated into the roof. The ensemble appears to have been carved from a single piece. The overall package of this design model is a clean thing – stylistically and functionally.

2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG Officially Announced – Video

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG unites efficiency and performance, exclusivity and an outstanding driving experience

Mercedes-Benz was kind enough to unveil the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG ahead of its world debut on Wednesday at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.  The 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG unites efficiency and performance, exclusivity and an outstanding driving experience. The estimated combined fuel economy for the high-performance SUV is 16 mpg, marking a 33-percent improvement over its predecessor. The basis for the excellent fuel economy and performance is the AMG 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine with an output of 518 hp and torque of 516 lb-ft, representing an increase of 15 hp and 44 lb-ft over its predecessor. The available AMG Performance Package boosts the V8 engine’s power output to 550 hp and its maximum torque to 560 lb-ft. The newly developed ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM for active roll stabilization, the AMG design and the broad scope of standard equipment and appointments produce a highly attractive overall package. The 2012MY ML63 AMG will be available in US showrooms in Q1 2012.

Ola Källenius, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, notes: “Like its predecessors, the 2012 ML63 AMG sets new standards in terms of performance, exclusivity and an outstanding driving experience – plus the efficiency factor, which is acquiring ever greater emphasis at Mercedes-AMG. As the inventor of the high-performance SUV, we remain true to the philosophy which we introduced in 1999 with the 2000MY ML55 AMG and continued with the 2007MY ML63 AMG.”

The new ML63 AMG showcases exceptional new technology. The AMG 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine features spray-guided gasoline direct injection with piezo injectors, ECO stop/start system, an all-aluminum crankcase, four valves per cylinder with camshaft adjustment, air-to-water charge air cooling and efficient alternator management. With a displacement of 5461 cc, the eight-cylinder engine generates a maximum power output of 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Combined with the AMG Performance Package, these values rise to 550 hp and 560 lb-ft. This difference in power and torque results from an increase in the maximum charge pressure from 14.0 to 18.8 psi. Both variants of the ML63 AMG deliver sports-car performance. Acceleration from zero to 60 mph takes 4.7 seconds and 4.6 seconds respectively, while the top speed remains at 155 mph (electronically limited) and at 174 mph with the AMG Performance Package. With or without the AMG Performance Package, fuel economy remains unchanged. The AMG Performance Package also includes an engine cover in high-quality genuine carbon fiber, calipers painted in red and the AMG Performance steering wheel in Premium leather/DINAMICA.

Key data at a glance:

ML63 AMG
Displacement 5461 cc
Bore x stroke 3.86″ x 3.56″
Compression ratio 10.0 : 1
Output 518 hp at 5,250 rpm 550 hp at 5,750/rpm*
Max torque 516 lb-ft at 1,750-5,000 rpm 560 lb-ft at 2,000-5,000 rpm*
Engine weight (dry) 449 lbs
Estimated fuel economy 16 mpg combined

Efficient and versatile – AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7-speed transmission

Power delivery to all four permanently driven wheels is via the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7-speed automatic transmission. Featuring three driving programs and a rev-matching function for downshifting, this outstanding gearbox offers amazingly broad scope. In “Controlled Efficiency” mode (C) the ECO stop/start function is active, shutting down the eight-cylinder engine when the vehicle is stationary. The “C” mode also delivers smoother acceleration and transmission characteristics with comfortable, earlier gear changes. Pulling away in this mode usually begins in second gear. A green “ECO” symbol in the AMG instrument cluster indicates that the ECO stop/start function is active.

In the Sport (S) and Manual (M) driving programs the ECO stop/start function is inactive and the engine/transmission characteristics are far more agile. A brief and precisely defined retardation of ignition and injection during upshift at full load also delivers shorter shift times.

Enhanced efficiency and driving dynamics

For added efficiency, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7-speed automatic transmission incorporates a new fuel-efficient torque converter, bearings designed for reduced friction loss and a thermal management system for the transmission oil. Axle gears with minimal friction loss, electronic steering, an optimized belt drive, on-demand control of all accessory drives and an intelligent lightweight design also help to reduce fuel consumption even further. The new ML63 AMG is 99 pounds lighter than its predecessor – despite the increase in power and the more comprehensive range of standard equipment.

As on the previous model, Mercedes-AMG uses a dedicated transfer case for the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive, which distributes engine power at a ratio of 40:60 to the front and rear axle for improved dynamic characteristics. Furthermore, the AMG sports suspension with AIRMATIC Air Suspension, independent damper struts, automatic level control and Adaptive Damping System (ADS) is combined for the first time with the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM for active roll stabilization. This system, which is standard equipment on the ML63 AMG, features active stabilizers on the front and rear axles to compensate for body roll during cornering. In addition to enhanced agility and driving fun, the system also improves stability for added safety, especially at higher speeds.

Roll stabilization, damping and suspension adapt instantaneously to the prevailing driving situation, offering optimum ride comfort and maximum stability. The driver can choose at the touch of a button between the three driving modes “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Manual”. The air suspension system is speed-sensitive, lowering the body at higher speeds to minimize drag while increasing stability.

The AMG elastokinematics on the front axle and more robust stabilizer bar on the rear axle improve steering precision. The enhanced drivetrain provides optimum power transmission and hallmark Mercedes reliability. The standard 4ETS electronic traction control system provides the best possible grip in slippery conditions.

AMG speed-sensitive sports steering, AMG high-performance braking system

Electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering features speed-based power assistance and helps to save fuel because it only consumes energy when the driver actually moves the steering wheel. The ML63 AMG comes with 20inch 5-spoke alloy wheels painted in titanium grey with a high-gloss finish and fitted with 265/45 R 20 high-performance tires. Also available are optional 295/35 R 21 tires on 21-inch AMG alloy wheels. The AMG high-performance braking system provides the shortest possible braking distances and high fade resistance, featuring ventilated and perforated brake discs at all four corners. Sizes are 15.4″ x 1.4″ (front) and 13.6″ x 1.0″ (rear).

AMG styling with trim in silver chrome matte finish

The design of the new ML63 AMG exudes self-confidence, athleticism and power. AMG styling dominates the front view. Beneath the radiator grille with louvers in high-gloss paint finish and the prominent Mercedes star is a large cooling air intake. Together with the two air intakes, the central radiator grille provides effective airflow to the radiator, as well as the engine oil, charge air and transmission oil coolers. Fitted at the bottom of the AMG front skirt is a trim strip in matte silver chrome, which lends breadth to the front end while blending with the frames of the daytime running lights and into the side air intakes. Bixenon headlamps offer a premium and and exclusive look in combination with the standard Lighting Package. The AMG front skirt is integrated into the distinctive front fenders, which are 0.4 inches wider on either side to accommodate the large AMG alloy wheels. Prominent, fender-mounted “V8 BITURBO” badges identify the vehicle as the top AMG model in the M-Class. AMG illuminated sill panels feature dynamic styling and establish a visual link between the front and rear of the vehicle.

Another eye-catching feature is the AMG rear skirt highlighting the black diffuser. The openings emphasize the vehicle’s width, as does the trim strip in matte silver chrome – which reflects the design of the front skirt and frames the AMG sports exhaust system. In contrast to the other M-Class variants, the ML63 AMG features two sets of chrome twin tailpipes, providing that distinctive AMG eight-cylinder sound.

High-quality, sporty interior

Sporty character and premium quality define the interior of the high-performance SUV from AMG. This is evident in the standard designo premium leather AMG power sports seats offering excellent lateral support, as well as the four-spoke AMG Performance steering wheel. The latter ensures excellent vehicle control with perforated leather grips, aluminum shift paddles and a rim flattened on the bottom. Aluminum trim elements and the piano-lacquer retractable cover in the center console highlight the interior’s dynamic and exclusive flair. The standard designo premium leather upholstery includes contrasting double topstitching and AMG badges in the backrests of the front seats and the outer rear seats.

Dashboard, armrests and door trim are also finished in designo premium leather with double topstitching.

The distinctive instrument cluster with color TFT monitor, AMG welcome logo and AMG main menu is exclusive to the ML63 AMG.

Other standard equipment includes:

  • AMG illuminated door sills in stainless steel

Safety of the very highest caliber

In line with the Mercedes-Benz brand philosophy, the 2012 ML63 AMG is based on the Mercedes-Benz concept of Real Life Safety, derived primarily from what happens in a real accident situation. The extremely robust occupant cell and the front and rear crumple zones form an effective basis for the occupant protection system. Nine airbags, activated on demand in accordance with the nature and severity of the accident, can reduce the loads exerted on the occupants. In addition to active safety systems such as the standard Brake Assist (BAS) or the optional BAS PLUS, which can help to prevent an accident or reduce its severity, the new M-Class features further enhanced passive-safety measures to help protect pedestrians.

Both active safety and driver fitness are improved by assistance systems already familiar primarily from the S- and E-Class. Standard equipment includes the drowsiness detection system ATTENTION ASSIST, the anticipatory safety system PRE-SAFE¨, Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, as well as ADAPTIVE BRAKE, the ESP¨electronic stability program and PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist. Further active assistance systems such as Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist are available as additional equipment.

Safety is further enhanced by new standard features such as LED daytime running lamps, fiber-optic / LED tail lamps, Adaptive Highbeam Assist and a driver’s side knee airbag

Visionary – AMG is the inventor of the high-performance SUV

The new ML63 AMG from Mercedes-AMG represents the third generation of the high-performance sport utility vehicle. The company from Affalterbach was the first to identify the potential of powerful and exclusive off-road vehicles and is recognized as the founder of the high-performance SUV segment. It all began in 1999 with the 2000MY ML55 AMG. With a power output of 342 hp, the top-of-the-range M-Class model powered by an AMG 5.5-liter V8 engine achieved a level of performance previously unheard-of in this class, with acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.7 seconds. The unusual combination of high-caliber drive, excellent off-road capabilities, outstanding ride comfort, unparalleled safety and a spacious interior was well-received by AMG customers across the globe. More than 11,000 ML55 AMGs were sold worldwide between 1999 and 2003.

The follow-up ML63 AMG, which was presented at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September 2005, continued the success story that began with the ML55 AMG. With its AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine generating an output of 503 hp and 465 lbs-ft of torque, it again set the benchmark in its segment. The performance of the 2007MY ML63 AMG was in the sports-car league. The top-of-the-range AMG model accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and had a top speed of 155 mph (electronically limited). More than 13,000 units were sold worldwide between 2006 and 2011. In all, AMG’s sales figures for its high-performance SUVs total more than 24,000 to date.

The 2012MY Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG will be launched in Q1 2012.

Mercedes-Benz, Maybach and smart at the Design Los Angeles Challenge

The Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow has proportions reminiscent of the Mercedes W125 series, a Silberpfeil racecar of the late 1930's

For the past eight years, the Design Los Angeles Board of Directors – made up of  twelve design studio executives – have chosen a theme for the the LA Auto Show’s Design Challenge. This year’s chosen them is “Hollywood’s Hottest New Movie Car” and design studios from around the globe have been invited to participate and submit their designs.  Studios from Germany, Japan and the U.S have chosen to compete including Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, smart, Honda, Subaru and Hyundai.

How the vehicle reflects its brand attributes relative to the movie plot; how the vehicle relates to the targeted audience or brand; the level of imagination; the character development of the vehicle; and the uniqueness of the combination of story, car and character are the various factors that the entries are judged on.

Mercedes Silver Arrow- Silver Lightning

In homage to 125 years of automotive innovation and design excellence, Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design of North America features a story with two techno characters that have achieved a unique harmony between safety and style; the iconic Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow racecar, and the underappreciated ‘Crash test dummy.’

In a futuristic society of increased artificial intelligence, two enlightened crash test mannequins, Hans05 and Franz02, show that they’re no dummies when it comes to recognizing a potential catastrophe and decide to take matters into their own hands. As the evil battering ram Dr. Crash-Barrier seeks to continue his reign of terror and mayhem, the two heroes take action to save their beloved Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow. They lead the relentless ‘Dr. Barrier’ on an action packed thrill ride through the past and future of transportation.

A long-slung, sculpture on wheels – actually on ‘Hoops’ – the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow has proportions reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz W125 series, a Silberpfeil racecar of the late 1930’s and the Uhlenhaut SLR from the 50’s. The overall shape follows distinguished Mercedes-Benz design traditions and is born from a dominant Formula 1 racing legacy. It also features a diagonally configured, hub-less roller track for ‘Omni-Directional’ maneuvering.

Brought to you by the creators of ‘Biome, a car grown from trees’, this epic adventure has it all, including a surprise ending that will have audiences cheering as our reluctant heroes save the day with a little old- school subterfuge and help from the great tradition of the Mercedes-Benz automobiles.

Maybach Berline- Cinderella and the Maybach Berline

Berline Carriage Engineer, her Stepmother, a retired Actress, and her Stepmother’s spoiled daughter who spent her days partying at the Billionares Club while Cindy spent all day working at her father’s workshop.

On the night of her birthday, Cindy’s father surprises her with a beautiful dress and allows her to take a new Maybach prototype out on the town – a reinterpretation of the historic Berline Carriage. Based on the dimensions of a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, the Maybach Berline Carriage is an E-Cell or F-Cell vehicle and features autonomous driving that allows Cindy to have an amazing night out, where she meets a handsome stranger.

The Carriage is teleoperated via a satellite link to a Maybach Virtual Chauffeur Center. This leaves maximum interior space for the passengers and also allows maximum privacy. The passengers are seated in a vis-à-vis seating layout with a “Royal Lounge” on one side and two single seats on the other. A large glass screen with 3D laser projection is suspended from the ceiling and can display the Virtual Chauffeur or a variety of media and entertainment. The interior and exterior come together seamlessly and are comprised of sustainable materials like wood. Large divided gullwing doors with oversized privacy glass open wide for entry with retractable stairs for convenient entrance (inspired by business jets).

Moviegoers will awe in the romance and new technology as Cindy goes on the journey of a lifetime.

Smart 341 Parkour- Annie get the Grannies!

In a world of continuous change, in Cantpark City, reporter Annie Angle is beginning a new chapter in her life. Cantpark City is famous for its friendly people, the beautiful weather, but notoriously known for a lack of parking spaces. On an early Sunday morning, an article in a newspaper catches Annie’s eyes… “Smart Granny Robots missing!!!”

Annie sets off on a journey to solve the mystery of the missing Grannies and to earn her first, potentially career-making, front page news article. Her Smart 341 Parkour vehicle plays a key role in this private investigation, providing both effective transportation and favourable sleuthing capabilities.

Several features enable her to take pictures from the best possible locations. The large greenhouse gives Annie 360 degrees of visibility while travelling through the inner city. The wheels are retractable and contain impulse pads and vacuum cups. The hexagon skin around the wheelhouse is adjustable to release the wheels. The Smart has different modes: a typical drive mode, a fly mode that allows the vehicle to hover far above the streets and a climb mode that allows the vehicle to run up the walls of skyscrapers.

Follow Annie’s investigative search in Smart’s “Annie get the Grannies!” this November.
