2012 Mercedes CLS63 AMG by German Special Customs

German Special Customs tunes the Mercedes CLS63 AMG, increasing its power from 518hp to 740hp

The Mercedes-Benz AMG performance division endows all of its models with extreme amounts of power, but there will always be drivers craving more power under the hood.  And it’s because of this that there will always be tuners willing to supply added thrust to virtually any model.

German Special Customs, or GSC for short, is one of those companies, with their latest example being their new performance and styling package for the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG.

To kick things off, GSC added a power kit for the 5.5-liter V8 engine, which includes bigger turbo chargers, an additional water cooler, a custom exhaust system and a software update.  The result:  an increase in output from 518hp (525PS) to 740hp (750PS), while peak torque rises from 700Nm (516 lb-ft) to 1,150Nm (848 lb-ft).

Thanks to the modifications, the GSC CLS63 AMG is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in a mere 3.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of nearly 350 km/h (218mph).

To keep the handling in check, the GSC CLS63 offers a KW adjustable suspension on the front axle and a new set of 20-inch alloy wheels with Continental tires (255/30R20 up front and 295/25R20 at the back).

Slightly less important than the added power are the exterior updates of the already good looking CLS63 AMG.  German Special Customs gave the four-door coupe a matte foil wrap; gloss black boot; and a new body kit that includes a vented hood, side skirts, revised front and rear bumpers, a carbon fiber diffuser and quad tailpipes.
