Your review put me over the top--clearly Lynx is the right choice. I'm looking at the 42 inch. Is the Prosear worth including? I heard its not good for non-searing cooking (i.e. chicken, vegtables). If the cast brass burners give off 25,000 btu, do I really need the Prosear? I don't want to lose 1/3 of the cooking space if I can only use it for searing and the cast brass burner provides enough heat to do the same job. Any thoughts on this subject?

okay okay, you twisted my arm, I am going to buy a Lynx.

I have been doing research for nearly a month trying to decide which grill to buy and this made up my mind. I didn't want another cheap grill that dents easy and can't stand up to WA weather. Plus those steaks just looked so damn good.

Great review, appreciate it.

I bought a 36" freestanding Lynx about a year ago and love it. I can't speak highly enough about it. I decided to go with the Lynx grill after hearing all the horror stories about viking and the some of the other high end appliance manufacturers that try to go into the grill category.

$5000 is nothing compared to how much I spent prior to buying my lynx. I've bought grills from home depot, lowes and costco and they all last only one or two summers. After two summers, I tried donating one of my char-broil grills to goodwill and it was refused because the lid had warped.

Had my Lynx for a few years now and it still looks new.
