All Wood Cabinetry simplifies the process of remodeling the kitchen saving you time and money

Thanksgiving is over, and unless you’ve updated your kitchen in the last ten years, or convinced a relative to host the holiday, you probably swore to yourself that you would never again cook for company again.  But it doesn’t have to be a burden to host holidays and dinner parties – it’s actually possible to enjoy your time in the kitchen.  I love cooking and I love hosting dinner parties and holiday gatherings, but my kitchen was set up in a way that segmented it from the rest of the house, meaning it was made to fit only a few people while everyone else was socializing in a separate room.  It was also designed without much storage space in mind, which meant several trips to storage in other parts of the house to find my holiday platters, roaster and additional place settings.

When I started working with All Wood Cabinetry, the designer and I discussed all of the above and exactly what it was that I desired from my new kitchen.  You can read more about the design process in my previous post here. And in the end, All Wood Cabinetry took the space that I had, my desires and my needs and delivered a design that offered a great looking and a functional kitchen. It’s created not only an ideal cooking space with everything I need in one place, but also a space that allows me to host friends and family in the very same room comfortably.

What’s great about working with All Wood Cabinetry is simply the ease by which the process takes place.  There were no trips back and forth to a kitchen designer; everything’s handled from the comfort of your home.  Then, once you’ve finalized your design, the kitchen cabinets are delivered directly to your door (in our case, just over three full pallets worth).  It’s as simple as you can get.  Once the cabinets were delivered, we checked for any scratches, blemishes or missing pieces per our instructions from All Wood, with everything in our order arriving in perfect condition without any missing pieces – quite impressive considering the multi-page list cabinets and accessories.

Installation wise, whether you’re installing them yourself or you have a professional do it for you, All Wood Cabinetry is remarkably straightforward to install.  Each cabinet came individually packaged and marked with dimensions, so laying out the kitchen is simply a case of matching the design drawings with the measurements on the outer cabinet boxes.  Once you’ve unpacked the cabinets, you’ll be pleased to see the cabinets are all fully assembled, with sliding doors and hinges already in place.  Not having to line up the drawers and hinges is a huge time saver, and a welcome sight when we unpacked the cabinets.

Adding to the ease of installation is the cabinet’s sturdy plywood construction, which made moving the cabinets easy without any fear of the cabinets bending out of shape.  For our installation, we removed the drawers from the individual cabinet units (easily done via the quick release levers underneath each drawer), and screwed several cabinet units together to create three larger, one-piece cabinet units.  Doing so made it simple to install our cabinets at the same level height – much easier than if we had tried to install and level each cabinet individually.  Depending on the complexity of your kitchen, it’s definitely a project that you can undertake, especially if you have experience with other diy projects.

Installing the upper cabinets was no different, as each cabinet was clearly marked.  Some people recommend installing the upper cabinets first and then the lowers, but in our kitchen, several of the uppers actually rest on the lowers, so for us this wasn’t an option.  Like the lowers cabinets, all dimensions were perfectly accurate, and the plywood construction again ensured everything stayed square throughout the installation.

Finally, the last thing worth noting about the All Wood Cabinetry installation is the completeness of the components in addition from the cabinets themselves.  Various moldings, decorative end panels, etc. are all included, helping you add the finishing touches very easily.  The end panels, for example, fit into notches pre-built into the cabinets, meaning there’s no cutting or carpentry required for installation.  Inside the cabinets, the various options all come pre-installed as well, such as the slider for the spice rack, waste basket containers, etc.  It made installing the cabinets much simpler than we anticipated, which after going through such an extensive remodel was a very good thing.

Long story short, if you’re considering a new kitchen and wondering whether or not you can install it yourself, with All Wood Cabinetry, you can.  Even if you hire a professional, you’ll likely still save money, as they’ll be able to install it much quicker than they would with other cabinet brands.
