Dynamic Mercedes Appearance at the Final Show of 2014 in Los Angeles

Taking place in parallel to Auto Guangzhou is the Los Angeles Auto Show, the most important autumn motor show of 2014 to be staged on the American continent. Alongside the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Mercedes-Benz is using the occasion to stage the US premieres of two particularly dynamic AMG newcomers – the AMG C 63 and the new Mercedes-AMG GT, which is the second vehicle to be designed and engineered fully in-house after the SLS AMG super sports car.
Mercedes-AMG GT: Fascinating Sports Car “handcrafted by racers”

“With its technological substance, the Mercedes-AMG GT fulfils our high standards in handling, agility and performance. It is ‘handcrafted by racers’ and clear proof that we make the dreams of our customers come true,” said Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, speaking at the US premiere in Los Angeles. The GT’s front mid-engine concept with transaxle and intelligent aluminium lightweight design form the basis for a highly dynamic driving experience. Providing AMG’s typical Driving Performance is the newly engineered AMG V8 biturbo – in the GT with 340 kW (462 hp) and in the GT S with 375 kW (510 hp). Thanks to the aluminium space frame, the new GT is lean and mean. Up to 93 percent of its body-in-white and bodyshell are made from the lightweight alloy. The front module is made from superlight magnesium. The most powerful version, the GT S, has a power-to-weight ratio of 3.08 kg/hp, making it the best in its class.
