Feeling a bit nostalgic today, we wanted to take a look at one of the articles form our original web launch way back in 2005.

Check out the post and the photos below of one of the ASMA CLS SHARK II

A while back, we brought you the first photos of ASMA-Design’s new tuning package for the CLS, dubbed the CLS Shark, as well as a new tuning package for the upcoming 2007 S-Class.

ASMA’s designs were both met with mixed reviews – some of you thought they’d be perfect for Glock-totin’ hip-hop moguls everywhere; some of you though they’d be better suited for a Honda; and some of you actually liked the way ASMA re-styled the Mercedes.

If you’re in the latter camp, you’re in for a treat; if not, let the hating begin.

ASMA has just unveiled a new tuning package for the CLS, dubbed the CLS Shark II.  It features much of the same styling the standard CLS Shark received, including side vents, rear apron, and side skirts, but what sets the CLS Shark II apart is the ridiculously huge grille on the front of the vehicle – it has to be the biggest grille I’ve ever seen.

I don’t know what it is, but the more I look at the car, the more I think it looks like Darth Vader’s helmet.  Paint it black, add a horn that says “Luke, I am your father,” and Star Wars fanatics from the dark side won’t be able to buy the AMSA Shark II fast enough (although Star Wars fanatics led by The Force might pull out their plastic lightsabers and beat it like a piñata).

Whatever your view of the new ASMA-Design CLS Shark II, there’s no denying it’s different.  We’ll leave it up to you whether or not that’s a good thing.

UPDATE:

Posted June 13th, 2007

Just when you thought ASMA’s CLS Shark II couldn’t get more flamboyant, the newest version of the German-tuned CLS-Class has been unveiled, and yes ladies and gentlemen, it is indeed even more eye catching.

Updates include added chrome accents (most notably on the grille) and a two-tone black and silver paint job, both of which aim to complement the plethora of venting found throughout the vehicle.  ASMA has also introduced a pair of new wheel designs as well, which can be added to the CLS Shark II and a number of other Mercedes models, should you so desire.
