| The Mansory Renovatio Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren In White |

Although it's rare for us to run multiple stories on a single tuner's variant of a Mercedes model, I felt it necessary to make an exception in the case of the Mansory Renovatio. The first time we saw the custom SLR McLaren, it was boasting a fantastically unique matte gold paint finish, and now, a little over six months later, it's back – this time in a slightly tamer yet still eye-capturing white paint scheme.
The aerodynamic enhancements are all back, which include a carbon fiber front apron, side skirts and rear apron; and so too are the mechanical enhancements: high performance compressors, a sports air filter and a modified engine management system. But the true appeal of the Mansory Renovatio is in its styling, which combines heavy doses of raw carbon fiber with a markedly contrasting exterior color...

The picture was published in the September issue of their magazine, and shows the new E fully exposed without the use of any computer enhancements. In addition, Auto Zeitung then went on to detail briefly what to expect from the 2010 E-Class, most of which we've brought you in the past, and some of which we haven't.

| World Premier Of The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S |

It's been five years since the world was first introduced to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, and in that time we've seen a number of variations of the consummate supercar. First there was the traditional SLR McLaren; then came the Mille Miglia-inspired SLR 722 Edition, and of course, there's the SLR McLaren Roadster. Today, adding to this already-impressive lineage, Mercedes has announced the latest member of the SLR family – the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S.
As the name implies,
the SLR McLaren Roadster 722 S is a blending of the the standard SLR 722 Edition and the SLR Roadster. It features the enhanced, hand-built supercharged 5.5-litre V8 engine made famous in the hard top version of the SLR 722 – a powerplant boasting an output of 478 kW/650 hp and 820 Nm of torque – whereas the standard SLR Roadster's V8 boasts a slightly lesser 460 kW/626 hp and 780 Nm of torque. As a result, the new SLR Roadster 722 S is capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, while top speed comes in at an incredible 208 mph (standard SLR Roadster: 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds, top speed of 206 mph)...

| Mercedes-Benz Names Winner Of Their European GLK Design Competition |

|
|

As you may remember, back in May Mercedes announced that they'd be holding a design competition based on the GLK-Class entitled "The design:project," with the goal being to create objects and designs centered around the new SUV. Six universities across Europe competed in the event, and earlier this week, it was announced that Istituto Marangoni, Milan took first place in the overall competition. In addition, the Istituto Europeo di Design Barcelona received the prize for best design object.
According to Dr. Olaf Göttgens, Vice President Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars: "It is impressive to see how the Mercedes-Benz GLK’s striking design vocabulary inspired the designers - and also how they gave it a fresh interpretation. ‘The design:project’ enabled us here at Mercedes-Benz to make personal contact with a young, design-oriented target group..."

| Mercedes-Benz Introduces New Adaptive High-Beam Assistant |

Adding to the already exemplary list of contributions they've made in the field of automotive safety, Mercedes has announced that they've developed a new high-beam assistant designed to optimize headlamp lighting while driving at night. Unlike traditional systems that simply switch between dipped and main beams, the new system is completely adaptive, adjusting light yield in accordance with prevailing traffic situations.
Take, for example, the dipped beam range, which typically extends about 65 meters. With the new system, oncoming traffic or vehicles ahead are automatically recognized, and the headlamp range is constantly adjusted so that the headlamp cone falls in front of other road users. As a result, dipped beam range can be extended to as much as 300 meters, without any blinding effects to other vehicles. In the cases of open and empty roads, high beams are automatically switched on...

The new DCA Steermaster steered axle puts the DCA (Durable Compact Axle) product range in pole position with the DCA Airmaster, DCA Weightmaster and DCA Megamaster. In keeping with tradition, Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems is showcasing its axles in the component-supplier zone in Hall 26 at the International Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover.
Premiere at the International Commercial Vehicle Show: DCA Steermaster, the lightest steered trailer axle
Weighing in at just 575 kg or so, the new DCA Steermaster with a permissible axle load of nine tonnes is the lightest steered axle in its class. At the same time, the DCA Steermaster enhances trailer manoeuvrability, minimises tyre wear and reduces the fuel consumption of a 40-tonne semitrailer rig by around three percent. Assuming a mileage of 150,000 km, this equates to an annual diesel saving of more than 1000 litres...

Since its relaunch in 2006, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has broken record after record. With 165,900 units produced in the past year, it is the European champion in its segment. The Sprinter is precisely tailored to the category of vans with a permissible gross vehicle weight of around 3.5 t. With numerous body and weight options, it covers all of the major segments in its class between permissible gross vehicle weights of
3 t and 5 t.
Low frame with gross weight of 4.2 t and air suspension
One unique feature is the low-frame chassis, now even available with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 4.2 t. Another new highlight is the optional air suspension in place of the standard-fit coil springs for the rear axle. The wide range of possibilities opened up by the low-frame design is displayed by a spectacular show vehicle on display: a single vehicle is used to highlight the fact that the low frame can be used for a high-volume box-body van (Schutz), a camper van (Concorde) or a rescue vehicle (Strobel)...

The new Mercedes-Benz Zetros is celebrating its public debut at the 2008 International Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover. This all-wheel-drive cab-behind-engine truck will be available as the three-axle Zetros 2733 A 6x6 and the two-axle Zetros 1833 A 4x4. The all-terrain Zetros enjoys a unique position, complementing the Mercedes-Benz Actros, Axor and Atego truck series.
Cab-behind-engine concept: great freedom of movement and quiet driving characteristics
With its striking radiator grille, the new Mercedes-Benz Zetros clearly shares features with the current range of Mercedes-Benz off-roaders. The standardised cab has three single seats and room for luggage. The advantages of a cab-behind-engine concept include a level cab floor and freedom of movement. Another comfort benefit is the driver’s seating position between the axles...
