According to the German publication Auto Zeitung, what you are witnessing is the first photo of a fully undisguised 2010 Mercedes E-Class.  The picture was published in the September issue of their magazine, and shows the new E fully exposed without the use of any computer enhancements. In addition, Auto Zeitung then went on to detail briefly what to expect from the 2010 E-Class, most of which we've brought you in the past, and some of which we haven't.

Here's a quick summary of what the publication believes we can expect from the next E.

In terms of power, Mercedes will offer four variants of their new OM651 diesel powerplant ranging from 136 hp in the E 200 CDI to 204 hp in the E 250 CDI, with a pair of additional BlueTEC diesel variants as well.  For those of you favor a gasoline powerplant, five petrol engines ranging from 184 hp to 388 hp are also planned, while topping off the range will be an AMG-variant outputting around 550 hp. And last but certainly not least, a hybrid variant utilizing the lithium-ion battery technology already found on the S 400 BlueHYBRID is likely in the works as well, with reports placing its debut sometime in the 2010 calendar year.

As for when we can expect to see the 2010 Mercedes E-Class make its world debut, its official unveiling is still reportedly coming at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009; however, judging by the fact that photos of the model have already began surfacing, we'll likely see much more of the model well before its official launch.

We'll keep you posted as new details of the 2010 Mercedes E-Class emerge; in the meantime, keep scrolling for another shot of the forthcoming model (click to enlarge).

Enjoy ladies and gentlemen.
