It's been 10 years since Mercedes introduced the world to the lovable SLK-Class, and as any good automotive manufacturer knows, that can mean only one thing - it's time to celebrate.
To mark the momentous occasion, Mercedes today has introduced an SLK variant they're calling the SLK "Edition 10", an exclusive SLK model featuring a number of unique design features not found on typical versions of the roadster. Notable highlights include a matte-grey
metallic paint finish, dark-grey high-sheen light-alloy wheels in a ten-spoke design, and a black leather interior accented by silver-colored underlays throughout. ..

Mark your calendars ladies and gentlemen; in January 2007, one of the most covetable S-Class models ever produced will begin making its way to a dealership near you. Powered by the completely-AMG developed 6.3 Liter V8 which produces 386 kW/525 hp at 6800 rpm and a maximum torque of 630 Nm at 5200 rpm, the S63 AMG, in its all its luxuriously-appointed beauty, will continue Mercedes' tradition of redefining what is rational, offering its occupants a new level of exhileration and opulence.
A 0-62 mph time of 4.6 seconds... an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph... all wrapped in a four-door haven of serenity. This is the basis of the new S63 AMG, and this is what it will provide to those lucky enough to attain it..

| Mercedes To Debut BLUETEC Models In All 50 States Starting Calendar Year 2008 |
| Posted September 25th, 2006 At 11:20 AM CST |

As you may remember, a short while back we brought word that the new E320 BLUETEC failed to pass emission standards in all 50 states after its test results of 0.06 g/mi of NOx were slightly higher than the EPA's necessary Tier 2 Bin 5 target of 0.05 NOx g/mi. DaimlerChrysler, however, remained confident that when tested with the company's AdBlue injection (a process that adds a urea-based solution into the exhaust to reduce emissions by up to 80%), Mercedes' BLUETEC diesel would indeed pass emission standards across the entire country.
Today, the company has reiterated their message, indicating that come calendar year 2008, not one... not two... but four Mercedes models will meet the EPA's stringent Tier 2 Bin 5 requirement. According to DaimlerChrysler, the M-, R-, GL- and E-Class families will all feature BLUETEC models equipped with AdBlue injection technology, making numerous diesel Mercedes models operable in all 50 states...

| New Details Of Next Smart ForTwo To Be Revealed At Paris Motor Show |
| Posted September 25th, 2006 At 7:40 AM CST |

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen; I hope you all had a splendid weekend. To kick things of this bright September morning (or dismal September morning, depending on your choice of climate), DaimlerChrysler has published a press release announcing they will release additional details of the next smart fortwo at the Paris Motor Show, which kicks of this Wednesday, September the 28th.
It's important to note, however, this press event will not officially debut the new model; the actual unveiling will be held at a later date. What the event will do (at least what I'm hoping it will do), is, much like the smart sand sculpture, provide another model of the new smart, this time constructed out of a different, maybe more edible substance...

| Autocar's First Drive: The 2007 Mercedes CL600 |
| Posted September 22nd, 2006 At 7:55 AM CST |

While taking a moment to venture through our inbox, a task we often manage to overlook, we stumbled upon an email from an astute reader by the name of Shiv directing us to a Mercedes CL600 review we unwittingly missed along the way.
The review, which was conducted by the British automotive publication Autocar, offers readers the first glimpse of what they can expect from Mercedes' newest luxury coupe, describing the new CL as "supremely comfortable, fast and able – and all in a subtle kind of way." Ultimately, however, the reviewer questioned whether or not the CL600 is worth the price of admission, noting that the V12 variant is "only for those who feel compelled to tick only the highest specification on the list."

| Car And Driver Looks At The Mercedes E320 BLUETEC |
| Posted September 22nd, 2006 At 7:20 AM CST |

Before I begin this story, let me first apologize for the lack of updates yesterday. An influx of work at another of my other occupations required the better part of my Thursday; thankfully, it appears yesterday was a rather slow day for Mercedes news.
One of the stories we did miss, however, was Car and Driver's look
at the upcoming Mercedes E320 BLUETEC. Although they didn't review it, they do provide a brief overview of the diesel sedan's technology, which, if you're new to the world of BLUETEC, will at least give you some idea how Mercedes' clean diesel functions. They also cover the E320 BLUETEC's price (which due to my alzheimer's, I can't remember if we've already mentioned), but if not, pricing is set at $52,325 - a mere $1,000 over the gasoline-power E350...

If you're in the market for a new Mercedes M-Class, chances are you've already read numerous reviews describing at length it many strengths, specifications, technical features, and so on.
If, however, you're in the market for a new Mercedes M-Class and don't fall into the above category (i.e., you haven't read the other reviews, you haven't seen the specs, etc.), then you, my dear reader, are in luck.
