Forbes Lists Top Ten Most Expensive Cars

Growing up, I remember all the cool kids in school picking on the smart kids.  While the jocks were off chasing girls and talking about football, the nerds were playing on their computers and talking about programming languages.  What were the smart kids thinking?  What a bunch of dorks.

As time went on, everyone graduated and went their separate ways.  The cool kids all stuck around their hometown, worked odd jobs here and there, and never amounted to anything.  The smart kids took a different approach.  After graduation, they decided to start a software company, developed some kick-ass program, and got bought out by a Fortune 500 company for the tidy sum of $47.8 million.

What does this have to do with the Forbes' list you ask?  The Forbes' list is payback - payback for all the ridicule the smart kids had to endure growing up. Now when they pull up to their high school reunion in their Koenigsegg CCR, the smart kids can have the satisfaction of watching the star cheerleader beg for a ride in a car she can't even pronounce.  Doesn't life have a funny way of working itself out?

I'm sorry, I'm getting carried away. You want to know who made the list, don't you?  Mercedes and Maybach have three entries on the list - the Mercedes SLR McLaren, the Maybach 62, and the Maybach 57.  As for the rest of the cars, they are, drum roll please:

1) Pagani Zonda C 12 S 7.3 Convertible  $598,025
2) Koenigsegg CCR  $562,659
3) Saleen S7 Twin Turbo  $555,000
4) Koenigsegg CC8S   $522,120
5) Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren  $450,000
6) Porsche Carrera GT  $440,000
7) Maybach 62  $375,000
8) Rolls-Royce Phantom  $328,750
9) Spyker C8 Double 12 S  $325,560
10) Maybach 57  $324,000

Please Note - If you visit the Forbes site, you'll notice the cars are in a different order.  I ranked these lovely automobiles based on their cost if you live in the United States, as opposed to Europe, so there is some variation between this and the Forbes website.
