I don't need to extol the virtues of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, as its numbers speak for themselves.  A total displacement of 5,439 cc's; power output of 617 horsepower at 6,500 rpm's; 575 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 - 5,000 rpm; 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds; a top speed of 206 mph.  I think you get the idea.  But for some, numbers aren't enough.  For some, uniqueness plays an an equally decisive role when determining whether or not they should make a purchase, and to this group, I present to you the ultimate in exclusivity – a limited edition Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster.

It is, by all accounts, a truly rare creature.  The last of its kind, it is the only SLR McLaren Roadster in existence to feature a Sienna Pearl metallic paint composition. With metallic elements three times the size of traditional metallic paint, the color can be described as a radiant brown metallic finish with deep copper undertones.  Complimenting the exterior, a Tobacco Brown leather interior has been chosen, while gold brake calipers complete the model's unique design.

And while the model in and of itself is noteworthy, what makes it even more special is the cause it's going to serve.  In partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue, this limited edition Mercedes SLR Roadster will be featured in the Saks Holiday Catalog and placed up for auction on November 20, 2008, with all proceeds over the model's $529,500 sticker price going to benefit the fantastic St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

If helping the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child is ever denied treatment due to the family's inability to pay isn't a good enough reason to bid on a new SLR Roadster, I can say with all sincerity that I don't know what is.  So get the checkbooks handy; pre-register for the auction at starting November 1st; and give back to the kids – they need you.

And before I go, a special thanks to our friend Paul for sending us the tip.  As always, we sincerely appreciate it.
