How the lucky British bastards over at Car magazine got their hands on the new Mercedes CL63 AMG less than a week after its official debut is beyond me, but somehow, they managed to do it. To celebrate their good fortune, they've graciously published an article detailing the experience, and from their initial impressions, it sounds like the CL63 has indeed managed to live up to our early presumption that's it's going to be one hell of a ride.
How good is it? Here's a few excerpts from the review for your reading entertainment:
"Muscular yet agile, sophisticated and powered by a magnificent engine, it makes the Bentley GT look frumpy and cumbersome."
"Gunned from standstill and the big coupe will race through its seven-speed automatic transmission to touch 60mph in 4.6seconds and bounce up hard against its 155mph as if it were a brick wall. Rocket sled doesn't even come close.
"The ABC active body control systems virtually eliminates body roll pitch and dive and along with the taut and surprisingly chatty steering, makes the car feel nimble and wieldy enough to give a Gallardo a hard time up an alpine pass."
I don't know about you, but I think it sounds absolutely delicious.
