In the market for a new diesel?  If so, About.com recently offered up the very first review of Mercedes' upcoming E320 BLUETEC, offering readers a concise look at the what differentiates the BLUETEC from its non-diesel brethren.

Not surprisingly, the reviewer noted few differences when compared to the gasoline-powered E350, stating the new model is the most "un-diesel-like diesel" he's ever driven. One thing that was different however was the fuel economy - an average of 31-34 mpg, compared to an E350's roughly 25 mpg.

Not too shabby for a nearly identically-priced, identically-equipped model.

In the end, the reviewer held the E320 in high esteem, going as far as stating that if in the market for an E, the diesel variant is the one he'd buy.

Will the American public agree?  We'll find out soon enough, but personally, the diesel's looking more and more appealing every day.

To learn more, head over to About.com where you can find the E320 BLUTEC review in its entirety.
