The Independent Reviews The Mercedes GL 420 CDI

If the previous GL review published by Car and Driver wasn't enough to convince you of the new SUV's many impressive attributes, an astute reader by the name of Dan referred us to yet another article analyzing Mercedes' seven-passenger sport-ute, this time the 420 CDI variant.

The review, originally published by The Inpendent of London, had very few negatives to say about the new model aside from its somewhat costly price tag.  Here's an excerpt from the article in which Michael Booth, the man fortunate enough to test the GL 420 CDI, shares his thoughts on the SUV:

"In many ways this car deserves to be more politically palatable. Like it or not, it commands respect. It is impressively built, fearfully powerful and shamelessly colossal.

The first time I drove the GL, I climbed straight from the driver's seat of a Maserati Quattroporte (dedication, that's what this job's all about!), but I swear the Mercedes was the more fun to drive."

Yet another satisfied customer.

Thanks for the tip Dan.
