It's October ladies and gentlemen, and as we usher in a new month, so too do we usher in the latest round of everyone's favorite - sales figures.  First up, as is always the case, come the numbers for our very own Mercedes-Benz USA, and as our title has already declared, 'twas a grand month.

In total, sales for Mercedes-Benz USA were up a substantial 13.2% to 19,873 new vehicles, bringing the company's year-to-date sales to 177,001 units - an increase of 13.3% over 2005's nine-month YTD sales.

The success, as has been the recurring over the past several months, can be largely attributed to the 2007 S-Class, with the luxury sedan noting a 126.4% sales increase over September 2005 with 2,357 units sold. Other September sales highlights came from the impeccably-styled CLS four-door coupe, which noted a 10% increase over 2005 with 943 units sold; as well as Mercedes' luxury light truck segment, with sales of the M-, R-, GL- and G-Class noting a 84.5% increase over last September.
