| Forbes Takes Another Look At The Mercedes S550 |

|

If Forbes Autos' initial review of the 2007 Mercedes S550 wasn't enough to clarify the publication's stance on the new model, Forbes itself has taken the liberty of publishing yet again a review of the luxury sedan to soothe the uneasiness surely felt by inquiring minds deliberating this very subject.
And while the reviewer lost any credibility he possessed when he stated the appearance of the Audi S8 is superior to that of the S550, the article does go on to mention a few of the S's more unique features, in the end delivering a mediocre assessment of the model...

| CLK 63 Down Under: CarsGuide.com.au Tests Mercedes' AMG-Tuned Midsize Coupe |

During the tenth annual Classic Adelaide rally that took place in Australia a week ago, the fine gentlemen of CarsGuide.com.au took a moment to strap themselves in behind the wheel of the AMG-tuned CLK 63, navigating it alongside the hundreds of other exotic automobiles in attendance and of course, writing about their excursions for the rest of the wanting world to lust after.
Although not particularly shocking considering they were piloting a roughly 500 horsepower coupe, the reviewers noted that the CLK had an amazing "willingness to corner" and "ferocious acceleration". The reviewer also noted, when it came time to slow the CLK 63, that "the brakes were stronger than expected and complement the powerplant with the right sort of potency"...

First of all, let me begin this morning by saying welcome back to each and every one of you, my beloved readers; I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend, whether that meant spending the day feasting with your loved ones, getting dragged to all the Black Friday deals, or whatever ritual you and your family partake in every year. Me - I stayed home and relaxed, enjoyed what may have been the greatest Thanksgiving meal ever created, and of course, watched a little football before slipping into my yearly tryptophan-induced mid-afternoon nap.
But enough talk of what I did over the weekend; we've got Mercedes news to cover, so let's get into it, shall we?
First up comes a story sent to us by an astute reader by the name of Nash, one which looks at a fatigue
warning system currently in development by the safety-conscious engineers of Mercedes-Benz...

| Brabus CLS Rocket Strengthens Its Position As The World's Fastest Street-Legal Sedan |
| Posted November 22nd, 2006 At 4:30 PM CST |
|
|
|

I ran across this story yesterday but unfortunately due to limited time constraints I wasn't able to publish it. As you may remember, back in June Brabus and their 730 horsepower V12-powered Mercedes CLS Rocket set out on a mission: to become the world's fastest street-legal sedan. The result was a top speed test run that boasted an incredible maximum velocity of 225.19 mph, fast enough to make the CLS Rocket the new king among luxury supercars.
Not a group known to rest on their laurels,
Brabus engineers felt the CLS Rocket was capable of more, more than even the aforementioned record-setting mark. So they set out again, venturing to the Nardo high-speed track in the South of Italy where they would once again try to improve on their already impressive achievement...

You've read the reviews. You've seen the photos. By now, it's obvious that the Mercedes CL63 AMG is without question one of and quite possibly the most beautiful Mercedes in the current lineup.
But if, by chance, you still haven't decided as to whether or not the CL63 is the worth the added cost over the standard CL's $100,675, evo magazine recently took their turn behind the wheel of the AMG-enhanced luxury coupe, providing yet again some insight as to what to expect should you spring for the new model...

With winter soon rearing it's bitter, snowy head, for many of us, that means it's time to put away our summer vehicle of choice and replace it with one of the more stable, assured Mercedes models the company has recently introduced. For some of you, that model is the Mercedes R-Class, the four wheel drive, part minivan, part SUV, part station wagon... well, you get the idea.
But does putting away your exquisitely-tuned CLS, E, SL, etc. mean you should take a vacation from enjoying the pleasures that only a finely-enhanced Mercedes can bring?
Of course not.
That's why the fine gentlemen over at KLEEMANN have introduced a tuning package for the R-Class, ensuring that no matter how cold the weather gets, the thrill of 455 horsepower is just a pedal push away...

| Consumer Reports To Mercedes: No Red Doughnuts For You |

|

While going through our inbox yesterday I received an email from an astute reader by the name Alex in which he pointed us to details of a small tiff that's developed between Mercedes and Consumer Reports.
Apparently, in their upcoming 2007 New Car Preview, Consumer Reports found that Mercedes were among the most unreliable of all brands tested - this after sending out surveys to their 4 million subscribers (1.3 million of which responded). Mercedes models making the list included the previous generation S-Class, the CLS and the E-Class, which held three of the total six most unreliable luxury vehicle spots; also making the list were the SL, CLK and V6 SLK models, which held three of the seven most unreliable sports car spots...

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen; I hope you all had a fabulous pre-Thanksgiving weekend. As you may remember, over the past month, 36 diesel Mercedes E-Class models embarked on a long distance journey from Paris, France to Beijing, China, an event Mercedes titled the E-Class Experience.
This weekend, after covering
roughly 8,700 miles over the past 30 days, the E-Class Experience diesel fleet arrived at its final destination, entering Beijing where they were greeted by none other than DaimlerChrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche himself...

| The San Francisco Chronicle Reviews The Mercedes GL450 |

|

To those of you in the market for a shiny new Mercedes GL450, the San Francisco Chronicle recently took their turn behind the wheel of Mercedes' seven-passenger SUV, offering up their impressions of what to expect should you indeed opt for the newly-introduced model.
Unfortunately, while the author does his best to deliver witty prose, the review ultimately falls far short of previous GL450 articles with not much more than basic GL's specifications being mentioned, any of which can be found on MBUSA's corporate website. About the only actual review portion of the article I was able to find was that the GL was "very quiet" and "very strong", which, if you've read other GL reviews, you're already aware of...

What could be better than being the proud owner of a Brabus Rocket, the 730 hp V12-equipped Mercedes CLS capable of achieving a top speed of 225 miles per hour?
If you think anything like German tuning house Tune It! Safe!, the answer is being the proud owner of a 730 hp V12-equipped Mercedes CLS capable of achieving a top speed of 225 miles per hour clad in full-on police attire.

| More GLK Speculation: Automobile Magazine Reports On Mercedes' Upcoming Small SUV |
| Posted November 17th, 2006 At 7:00 AM CST |
|
|
|

Although it's not rumored to be hitting dealerships until sometime in late 2008, the fine gentlemen over at Automobile magazine recently took a moment to speculate about the GLK, offering a small glimpse as to what they believe we can expect to see from Mercedes' upcoming small SUV.
According to the publication, the GLK, which will be based on a 2008 C-Class 4MATIC chassis,
is going to feature a number of changes over the standard's C's underpinnings, including new steering rack, bigger brakes and a modified independent suspension that permits more wheel travel. A handling package, which includes adaptive dampers, quicker steering and fatter anti-roll bars will also be available, while curb weight is said to fall somewhere between 3,400 and 3,700 pounds...
