Good morning, ladies and gents, how's everyone doing this morning?

Yesterday, we brought you the first photos of Kleemann's new tuning package for the 2007 Mercedes S-Class.

Only a mere 24 hours after we ran the story, Kleemann has officially released details of their lovely new monster, as well as more photos to further wet your tuning apetite.

As always, Kleemann began their transformation of the S-Class by addressing the exterior of the vehicle. Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van

Although not well known here in America, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has been widely successful across Europe, with approximately 1.3 million units being sold.

Next year, Mercedes is planning to launch a new Sprinter, which "represents a flawless blend of form and function and whets the appetite for the innovative and practical technology under the surface."

Or, if you prefer our translated version, the new Sprinter "has a face that only a mother can love."  We can't really fault Mercedes for its lack of aesthetically pleasing good looks, however - it is, after all, a cargo van...

Mercedes-Benz Simplex Exhibition Side View

Here's a little history lesson (taken from the press release) for all you youngsters out there.

"The first 'Mercedes', an ingenious engineering feat of Wilhelm Maybach and supplied to Emil Jellinek by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) in 1901, is considered to be the first modern automobile. Featuring a 35 hp engine, honeycomb radiator, pneumatic tires, long wheel-base, shift gate and low center of gravity, the Mercedes was a sensation in its day and age. Only a little later, in 1902, an improved 40 hp car – the Mercedes Simplex – was offered, which was even easier to operate, at least by contemporary standards...

Exterior of Project Kahn Black Mercedes-Benz SL with SLR Conversion Kit to KSLR

While sipping my morning cup of java and checking out Jalopnik this morning, I stumbled upon a story they ran about a new Project Kahn SL.

Honestly, I didn't even now Project Kahn worked on Mercedes, I know them more for their work on Range Rovers.

It seems they do indeed do a little work on Mercedes; in fact, they recently unveiled a new SL package dubbed the KSLR, perfect for anyone that wants to add a touch of SLR (or SLK, if you prefer) to their SL. For a mere 7,500 quid (about $13,000 USD) gets you a shiny new SLR front end, complete with SLR nose cone and front bumper.

Viktor Ushenko's Mercedes-Benz S350 TD For Sale On Ebay

Do you have a million dollars burning a hole in your pocket?  I know I sure do.  Every morning I wake up, have a cup of coffee, and deliberate the perfect way to spend all those zeros.

Finally, after much deliberation, I think I've found the answer. So what could it be? A new house? Nope. Maybe a mint condition all-original 300SL Gullwing, to match my shiny new Mercedes SLR McLaren? Wrong again.

The real gem I've discovered is a 1994 Mercedes S350 TD, owned by none other than Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko...

Mercedes-Benz CLS voted Design Car Of 2006 by Popular Mechanics

Yesterday we received an email from the good folks over at Popular Mechanics, pointing us to a Mercedes story they ran that we somehow managed to overlook.

In the October Issue of Popular Mechanics' 2006 Cars and Trucks of the Year awards, the Mercedes-Benz CLS was named the winner in the magazine's "Design" category.  And can we blame them?  After all, it is the car that graces every page of our website.

So why did they choose the CLS?  "To us, it's a rolling metal sculpture of a racing greyhound or a thoroughbred. The long wheelbase mimics legs stretched out front and rear, the nose low, straining for the finish line... this car screams forward motion and will always rate a parking valet's favored spot..."
