DaimlerChrysler Needs More Workers To Build The New E-Class
Posted on May 12, 2006 at 2:10 PM CST

Mercedes-Benz LogoReuters is reporting today that after the latest round of job cuts, DaimlerChrysler is aproximately 1,000 workers short of the number of employees needed to build the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

According to the article, increased demand for the new model means production at the Sindelfingen plant must rise 13,000 units by the end of October.

To compensate, working hours for employees will be raised by one hour, with additional help expected to be provided by workers on short-term contracts and part-time holiday fill-ins during the summer months.
