Forbes is reporting today that DaimerChrysler has plans to cut 750 jobs over the next three years at its Mercedes plants in the Spanish cities of Vitoria and Barcelona.
According to the article, Daimler's restructuring plan aims to cut 600 of its 3,400 employees from the Vitoria plant, while the remaining 150 job cuts will come from the 500 employees at the Barcelona plant.
Union sources were cited as the basis for the claims; a DaimlerChrysler spokesman failed to comment on the matter, noting only that the job cuts, which are aimed at improving productivity and competitiveness at the plants, will be negotiated with unions.
