Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, I hope you all had a splendid weekend. To kick things off this morning, we have everyone's favorite - rumors, courtesy of MBSLK.com (via JESMB.de).
If the latest round of gossip is correct, Mercedes may be planning an update to the SLK-Class as early as March of 2008.
Much like the E-Class' recent re-styling, expect the SLK to receive a number of minor tweaks in its latest revision.
The SLK 200, for example, is expected to receive a bump in horsepower from 163 to 184. The SLK 350 is also expected to receive a performance boost, now topping out at 292 horsepower and 365 Nm, compared to the model's current output of 272 horsepower and 350 Nm.
In terms of styling, again, a number of minor revisions are expected. Modified front and rear bumpers, chrome fog light surrounds, outside mirrors similar to those of the new C-Class, new exterior and interior color options and a new instrument cluster are a few of the things we may see in the SLK's latest incarnation.
At this point, the story is pure speculation; however, as those familiar with Mercedes and their fondness for updating models around the 4 year mark know, the rumors probably aren't far from the truth.
We'll be sure to keep you updated if we hear anything new; in the meantime, you can head over to JESMB.de to check out the full story (it's in German, so you'll need
to use a translating program, such Google).
