More Power Please:  KLEEMANN Unleashes New Kompressor For The Mercedes M273 V8
Posted March 30th, 2007 At 5:00 PM CST

The new Kleemann Kompressor for the Mercedes-Benz V8 (M273)
KLEEMANN, one of the world's preeminent Mercedes-Benz tuning houses, recently announced the newest addition to their impeccable Kompressor range:  a new supercharger system for the M273 V8 engine (i.e., 450 and 500/550 models).

Like their Kompressor system for the outgoing V8 engine range (M113), the new design integrates the inlet manifold, intercooler and Kompressor into a cohesive unit, resulting in a compact design that ensures factory-like fit looks and quality.  A low boost pressure of just 0.30 - 0.70 bar ensures the system is safe and provides outstanding long-term durability for the engine, all while increasing power output of the 500/550 variant to 475 horsepower and maximum torque to 625 Nm (90 percent of which is available at 2,000 rpm). Fitted with KLEEMANN high flow exhaust headers and a stainless steel exhaust system, power output can be increased to an even more impressive 505 horsepower and a maximum torque of 660 Nm - enough to satsify all but the most insatiable power whores among you...

Exterior views of the 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C320 CDI

Although Mercedes reviews are a little light today, two articles have come to our attention - articles which analyze the 2007 S-Class (or more specifically, the S63 AMG and the S320 CDI 4MATIC) as well as the 2008 C-Class.

The first review, published by European Car, looks at both of the aforementioned S-Class models, praising the S63's power but finding the fuel conscious diesel S320 possesses an equally strong feature set and is a formidable contender in the luxury sedan lineup.  The second review, this one published by Top Gear, provides a four part look at the latest C-Class lineup, eventually concluding that the C-Class is a "solid improvement" over the outgoing model...

Taken in Amsterdam during preparations for the AutoRAI, the photos clearly showcase a CL65 - a model which will be powered by the same 6.0-Liter 612 hp V12 Biturbo found in its sibling - the S65 AMG.  AutoTelegraaf expects a 0-62 mph time of 4.5 seconds, while top speed is limited to the standard 155 mph...
