Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH has announced today that to coincide with the market launch of the new C-Class, they have extended their online "Accessory Configurator" to include both wheel and telematics options.  As for how exactly the new options have been implemented, one example is wheels, in which users of the Accessory Configurator will now be able to select from a varied selection of both standard and optional equipment and in real time, see their selections on a sample vehicle.  Three different viewing angles to see your selection on the virtual model are available, and the ability to change your vehicle's paint color is also present.  Once you've decided on the option (or options) you'd like to incorporate, you can then save your selections to an electronic notepad and present them to an authorized Mercedes-Benz partner for ordering.

This of course is only one example - Mercedes promises a wide variety of interior and exterior styling elements, protective equipment and miscellaneous equipment (such as carrier systems) will all be available on the configurator in the coming months.  The configurator is live now, however, with primarily the wheel and telematic options currently active.

To learn more, head over to the Accessory Configurator and check out the new design for yourself, or keep scrolling for the full press release detailing the Accessory Configurator's changes.

Enjoy.

Mercedes-Benz extends its Accessory Configurator: Personalised accessories at the click of the mouse

Stuttgart, Mar 06, 2007
Scheduled to coincide with the market launch of the new C-Class, Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH has both reviewed and extended its Accessory Configurator. Anyone interested will as of now find personalised light-alloy wheel and telematics options for all current Mercedes-Benz model series if they visit www.mb-configurator.net, whereas if they got to www.mb-configurator.net/c-class, they can conveniently combine at the PC original Mercedes-Benz accessories designed to perfectly match the new C-Class. The range covers an especially wide choice of products that include interior and exterior styling elements, protective equipment and products designed to enhance a vehicle’s life, and even carrier systems.

A variety of comfort functions render the electronic guide particularly user-friendly, as the new and well-structured user interface with its modern design provides a clear graphical overview which makes it easy to choose from the range of accessories. Take the light-alloy wheels, for instance, of which a click of the mouse presents virtual views on the vehicle from three different angles. Furthermore, the range of vehicle paints to choose from offers a near real-life effect of the configured vehicle. Each product is shown in great detail with a precise description, including the order number. The selected accessories can then be saved on an electronic notepad to be presented to the nearest Mercedes-Benz partner when ordering the vehicle.

The comprehensive online-range of accessories offered for the new C-Class marks the start of the future extension of the Mercedes-Benz Accessory Configurator. Over the next months, the tailor-made products will gradually become available online for all other Mercedes-Benz model series, too.

The Accessory Configurator complements the Car Configurator in an ideal manner as www.mercedes-benz.com/c-class helps customers design their dream vehicle ex factory on the World Wide Web.
