As you can probably tell it's been a painfully slow morning for Mercedes news, so to help pass the time a bit, I decided to head over to eBay to see what strange and unusual Mercedes oddities I could find at the world's largest online collection of crap.
Although I couldn't find anything along the lines of Viktor Ushenko's S-Class or the E-Class pickup truck, I did notice the lovely vehicle you see pictured above, a perfectly restored 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300SL.
The car, which features special order blue metallic paint and white leather, is powered by Mercedes' alloy engine design and is number 6 of the 210 alloy-engined SL's that saw production. Accolades include taking best sports car honors at Amelia, Meadowbrook and the MBCA Starfest.
If you're interested, you can find the full details over at eBay. The current bid is $305,100 (with the reserve not met), and the estimate is in the $600,00-$650,000 range.
$600K? I'll take three.
