Our friend Vincent over at Autoblog.nl pointed us to us to a story this afternoon in which the eerily psychic journalists at Auto Motor und Sport predict that we may soon see a smaller addition to the exorbitant Maybach family.
The German publication is reporting that to do battle with the forthcoming Rolls Royce as well as the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, the premium luxury division of the Mercedes Car Group will introduce a 5.10 meter version of the Maybach (a Maybach 51), with power ranging from 500-600 horsepower either via a V8 or V12 powerplant...
While browsing the orgy of videos over at YouTube this afternoon, I stumbled upon a rather impressive display of top speed tests involving a Mercedes SLR, Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Murcielago, Porsche Carrera GT and Aston Martin DB9.
Although I'm sure you can already guess which vehicle took top honors, the SLR performed admirably, sharing second place with the Porsche Carrera GT after achieving a top speed of
207.5 mph. As for the Enzo, a top speed of 220.59 mph garnered it king of the supercars.

If you remember a few months back, we told you about the the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers' attempt to form a union at Mercedes-Benz's Vance Plant in Alabama. We then told you about a dispute that erupted when the United Auto Workers claimed that they, not the Machinists, had rights to any unions formed at the Mercedes plant
due to an ongoing campaign to unionize the plant.
Now, in the latest round of union drama, Don Barker, the lead organizer for the International Association of Machinists, claims that supervisors at the Mercedes plant are harassing employees who favor organizing a union...
If the scores of other insightful Mercedes GL450 reviews haven't given you a clear picture of the new Benz SUV's handling, performance and design characteristics, an intrepid reader by the name of Bobby just sent us word of yet another GL critique, courtesy once again of the boys over at Inside Line.
Not to be confused with their "First Drive: 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL450," Inside Line's latest review offer an even more comprehensive look at the SUV tree-huggers love to hate...
It's been only two months since Mercedes announced the second coming of the E-Class, an updated version of the widely popular sedan that features a number of new revisions. More power, slightly enhanced styling, and a wealth of new electrical components are just a few of the changes the 2007 E can boast of.
While it's already been heralded by some as the perfect sedan - the ultimate combination of price, luxury, and performance - the German engineers that live in the mythical land we all know as BRABUS have a far different view of the Mercedes E-Class. Rather than looking at what the new E-Class is, they look at what the new E-Class could be... and then they make it a reality...
For those of you looking for what is an irrefutably unbiased review of the new Mercedes GL450, the always insightful gentlemen over at The Truth About Cars recently took their turn in the mega-SUV, offering yet another opinion for anyone considering upgrading their aging Escalade.
Although I don't want to give away too much, I will say that the GL scored well in the "performance," "ride," "handling" and "desirability" categories, while negatives came as a result of the GL's somewhat Japanese-esque design...
As a part-time resident of Florida, I'm constantly forced to deal with the pains of navigating through seas of nearly blind Geritol-laced drivers on a daily basis.
While the idea that there are
drivers in other states capable of matching the ineptitude of Floridian drivers is difficult to fathom, a recent driving study conducted by GMAC Insurance found that although Florida scored poorly, there are plenty of other states that provide the same migrane-inducing driving conditions.
So what state is home to this country's worst drivers? Find out after the jump...
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen; I hope you all had a fantastic summer weekend.
While going over our exceptionally overpopulated inbox this morning, we received an email from our good friend Platon pointing us to a number of spy photos showcasing various upcoming Mercedes models.
Some of the pictures we've already brought you, such as the Mercedes C63 AMG, but they also have a number of additional photos we haven't published, including the 2007 Mercedes CL63 AMG (pictured above) as well as what appears to be the Mercedes MLK...

If you're in the mood to read another automotive journalist sing the praises of Mercedes' latest flagship sedan, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is more than happy to oblige.
Mark recently took his turn
behind the wheel of the Mercedes S550, ultimately bestowing it with a total of four out of four stars. His reasons for buying the new S-Class include its styling, large and luxurious interior, technical sophistication, and power; while he did manage to find fault with the S's interior trim, lack of some common features, and cost...

It began as sultry love affair, but for a Long Island housewife involved in a lurid tryst with her 16-year-old neighbor, it ended with a scandalous arrest and a barrage of charges.
Authorities say that Lisa Frodella, a 39-year-old housewife from Carle Place, has been charged with two-counts each of third-degree rape and criminal sex acts, after allegedly copulating with a 16-year-old boy.
According to police, Frodella approached the victim back in January, where he went to school with her two daughters, ages 14 and 15. After a series of conversations and text messages, the two eventually had sex, both in her car or at area motels, including a St. Patty's Day romp at a Red Roof Inn...
