As you may remember, a few months ago we told you about a Mercedes SLK variant titled the Tracksport, an SLK 55 AMG based on SLK "Ultimate Experience Asia."

Additional rumors are circulating today that outline in more depth what prospective SLK Tracksport owners may have to look forward to. If the rumors are indeed correct, the SLK Tracksport will be powered by the M113 E55 EVO engine, which has an output of 400 horsepower and 520 Nm - approximately 40 horsepower more than the standard SLK 55 AMG. As a result, the SLK Tracksport is rumored to be capable of producing a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds, compared to the current SLK 55's time of 4.9 seconds.

The rumors go on to state that the SLK Tracksport will feature a hard top, 19" wheels, a new front and rear apron, a new leather package for the interior, a carbon package for the exterior, and a number of new matte lacquer finishes available as an option.

As with all Mercedes of this nature, the rumors conclude by stating that production of the SLK Tracksport will be extremely limited, with only 120 units being made available through Mercedes' Affalterbach AMG studio in Germany.
