Although our invitation was apparently lost in the mail, a number of other automotive publications were treated to an advanced screening of the new Mercedes C63 AMG, several of which have already published their initial impressions of the M3-assassin.  This, in tandem with the fact that various other Mercedes models (namely, the CLK63 AMG Black Series, CL63 AMG and S500) have also been tested recently means it time for yet another installment of our "Review Roundup" segment - one which, if you're an AMG fan, you'll most certainly enjoy.

It's Official:  Mercedes Unveils The 457 Horsepower C63 AMG
Posted July 4th, 2007 At 12:00 PM CST

You know, it figures my day off is the day Mercedes unveils to the world their highly-anticipated AMG variant of the 2008 C-Class, but as luck would have it, that's exactly what happened. If Mercedes' newest press release is to be believed, the answer to that question my dear friends, is safety. Thanks to its F1-style carbon-fiber monocoque construction, in the event of a head-on, side-on or rear-end collision, its occupants enjoy "a very rigid and hence securely protected space..."
