Although our invitation was apparently lost in the mail, a number of other automotive publications were treated to an advanced screening of the new Mercedes C63 AMG, several of which have already published their initial impressions of the M3-assassin. This, in tandem with the fact that various other Mercedes models (namely, the CLK63 AMG Black Series, CL63 AMG and S500) have also been tested recently means it time for yet another installment of our "Review Roundup" segment - one which, if you're an AMG fan, you'll most certainly enjoy.

| It's Official: Mercedes Unveils The 457 Horsepower C63 AMG |

You know, it figures my day off is the day Mercedes unveils to the world their highly-anticipated AMG variant of the 2008 C-Class, but as luck would have it, that's exactly what happened. Taking a break from the family's 4th of July festivities, I took a moment to check my email, and lo and behold, flooding my inbox is tips from numerous readers letting me know the C63 AMG has been released.
So ladies and gentlemen, in case you missed it, Mercedes today has premiered the new C63 AMG. Boasting AMG's 6.3 Liter (technically 6.2-Liter)
V8, the C63 outputs exactly 457 horsepower - not quite as spectacular as the 500 horsepower we were all hoping for but still impressive, nonetheless. As a result, the C63 is capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in a mere 4.5 seconds, achieving an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, and looking absolutely delicious doing it...

For some of you, the decision as to whether or not the new Mercedes SLR McLaren is worth ponying up the roughly half-a-million or so it takes to get behind its ergonomic sport steering wheel is a difficult one. It's without quesion a vehicle of immense beauty, but then again, $500,000 affords you plenty of things which are immensely beautiful. So the question lingers: why should you purchase the Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster?
If Mercedes' newest press release is to be believed, the answer to that question my dear friends, is safety. Thanks to its F1-style carbon-fiber monocoque construction, in the event of a head-on, side-on or rear-end collision, its occupants enjoy "a very rigid and hence securely protected space..."
