Mercedes-Benz R-Class Coming This Fall
Posted July 23, 2005 at 1:25 PM CST

Mercedes-Benz R-ClassIt's a car; it's an SUV; it's a minivan; it's the new Mercedes-Benz R-Class.  Coming in fall of 2005 the new R-Class Grand Sports Tourer comes with your choice of 6 or 8 cylinders, paired with Mercedes' new 7 speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission, permanent four wheel drive, as well as a host of safety features, including front and side impact air bags and optional Neck-Pro head restraints.

Mercedes claims the R-Class "reaffirms the role of Mercedes-Benz as the visionary and trendsetter amongst automotive brands."  Although I fail to see how a four-wheel drive minivan is really that much of a trendsetter, I have a feeling soccer moms everywhere will be lining up to get one.  For the more details and photos, follow the link to the press release.

Update: Mercedes-Benz has posted a new microsite for the R-Class.  Click here to view it.
