It's a car; it's an SUV; it's a minivan; it's the new Mercedes-Benz R-Class.  Coming in fall of 2005 the new R-Class Grand Sports Tourer comes with your choice of 6 or 8 cylinders, paired with Mercedes' new 7 speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission, permanent four wheel drive, as well as a host of safety features, including front and side impact air bags and optional Neck-Pro head restraints.

Mercedes claims the R-Class "reaffirms the role of Mercedes-Benz as the visionary and trendsetter amongst automotive brands."  Although I fail to see how a four-wheel drive minivan is really that much of a trendsetter, I have a feeling soccer moms everywhere will be lining up to get one.  For the more details and photos, follow the link to the press release.

Mercedes recently announced they will be updating their current line of S-Class models. Debuting in spring 2006, the new S-Class will feature a new 388 horsepower 5.5-Liter V8 paired with a 7 speed automatic transmission, brake assist with radar and PRE-SAFE technology, Night View Assist with infra-red technology, as well as all new exterior and interior styling.
