Although Mercedes has yet to offically publish the details of the 2009 SL-Class, they did take a moment to meet with select members of the press to discuss the forthcoming models, allowing you, via a third party, to learn of the various changes incorporated on the new roadster.  

First up to detail the invite-only event is none other than Inside Line, who yesterday published a rather verbose article describing what to expect from the next SL.  Rather than forcing you to wade through their entire article, however, I've taken it upon myself to list just the model revisions; allowing those of you who value your time a quick and easy means to discover what it took Inside Line 17 paragraphs to express.

So without further ado, the 2009 Mercedes SL-Class' various enhancements:

• New six-point radiator grille
• Revised headlights
• New aero diffuser in the rear
• Gill-style air intakes in the front fenders
• AMG standard on all U.S. models
• New instrument dials
• New three-spoke steering wheel
• New hard-disk satellite navigation system
• Airscarf (similar to the one found on the SLK)
• Heating elements in the head restraints (produce a flow of hot air around your head and neck)
• Two non-AMG engine variants:  388-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 or 517-hp twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12
• Power-assisted variable-ratio steering
• New bi-xenon headlamps featuring Intelligent Light System
• SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG to debut at Geneva Motor Show in March
• Two new V6 engines for Europe

If you're interested, the 2009 SL-Class is scheduled to hit dealerships this May, with pricing yet to be announced (although most likely comparable to that of the current models).
