Auto Express Predicts The Future:  Another Look At The New Mercedes Gullwing
Posted January 3rd, 2007 At 9:20 AM CST

The Mercedes-Benz Experimental Handling Vehicle (EHV), a possible chassis for the 2010 Mercedes Gullwing

So what if it's never been mentioned by Mercedes?  So what if the only possible evidence its even in development is the above spy photo that shows what chassis it may use?  And so what if the earliest we may even see it is 2010?  That hasn't stopped Auto Express from delivering a comprehensive article outlining what to expect from the forthcoming new Mercedes Gullwing, a car that up until this point and still is pure conjecture on the part of auto journalist around the world.

So what exactly is revealed by the editors of Auto Express?

Two main things.

First, Auto Express details the new Gullwing's chassis, indicating that Mercedes has "settled on an aluminum spaceframe chassis" and forsaken the too-costly carbon fiber body shell that's found on the SLR. Secondly, the article goes on to discuss what will power the Mercedes Gullwing, noting a bi-turbo V8 with an output of 750 bhp is a possibility.

It's all speculation; but I know you love rumors, so I'll leave it up to you to separate the fact from the fiction.
