DaimlerChrysler has announced that some Mercedes models are being recalled, due to a possible malfunction with the windscreen wipers. According to the company, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class and C-Class station wagons produced between May 2005 and May 2006 are the three models affected, the majority of which were sold in Germany.
"A switch for the windscreen wiper will be replaced," a DaimlerChrysler spokesman said today. He then went on to add that a possible lack off insulation in the switch could cause the front and back windscreen wipers to fail.
While no specific figures were given as to how many vehicles are included in the recall, the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag reported a figure of 130,000 units, based on the number of registrations in Germany during the time period.
