OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape 25 Select Artists and Songs

StrayOtic – My Road
Actually the two multi-instrumentalists of StrayOtic feel good as a duo. But lately, when they performed in the “Mercury Lounge” in the Canadian Capital Ottawa, they got into conversation with a female bouncer. Originally she was a singer, Patrice James told them. She proved it the next day in the studios. The result is the Upbeat-Groove of “My Road”.

Sosue – After Love is Gone
“Meaningful music needs a harmonic composition, a nice arrangement and good musicians”, says Sosue from Cologne, Germany. “Furthermore it transports an attracting spirit and it “grooves”.” All that meets “ After Love is Gone” hundred per cent – a relaxed instrumental with a beautiful trumpet-solo by Jazz-Lounge-expert Christoph Titz.

Sencha – Dragonfly
“Sencha” is the most popular kind of green tea from Japan – and the name of a power-pop-band from Germany. The five musicians already recorded four albums and one Live-DVD, all of it with their own, handmade songs. “Dragonfly”, their hidden homage to the Beatles, is also on Mixed Tape 25.

Northbound – Forward
Northbound’s Mikko Roisko describes their music as downtempo-triphop-jazz-funk-soul – a mixture of all their favorite music styles. “If you really could describe music with words, you eventually would not need to do it anymore”, says the Finn. How right he is shows our marching mixed tape title “Forward” – a song out of their new album “Nowhere Near” coming in summer.

Maren & Montauk – Too Fast
“Maren & Montauk” don’t come from Long Island, New York, but from Weimar in Thuringia, Germany. Nevertheless they like the Indian name of the small village at the USA’s east-end – and Max Frisch’s Novellas as well as the mysterious “Montauk Experiment” by the CIA surely pulled their weight. For certain “Maren & Montauk” make very international and beautiful Popmusic with Jazz-loans and electronic resources.
