Driven: Channel 4 The Latest To Weigh In On The Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 Edition

So what if there's already two other automotive publications that have taken the time to criticize Mercedes' limited-edition SLR 722 Edition, that hasn't stopped Channel 4 from echoing yet again the same sentiment, delivering what's unlikely to be the last of the negative feelings towards the roughly half-a-million dollar model.

According to Channel 4:

"...the 722 is just too aggressive and unbalanced in its dynamics, and I'm not sure that the SLR's well-heeled customers had quite this in mind when they asked for some extra sportiness. My hunch is that easing off those rear dampers would both get rid of the pogo-bounce and tame the tetchy steering, but I'm probably wrong."

 

And that pretty much sums up the reviewer's overall opinion of the SLR 722 Edition.  There are a number of positives noted, but in the end, the third of three reviewer's finding discord with our carbon fiber-laden friend.
