Name That Benz:  Mercedes Trademarks CLC-Class Moniker
Posted December 27th, 2006 At 9:20 AM CST

CLC-Class name submitted for trademark filing
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), DaimlerChrysler AG is working on gaining a patent for the CLC-Class moniker, arousing speculation as to what new model the company may be working on.

So my friends, what could it be? A two door CLS variant?  Maybe.  A convertible version of the newly-introduced CL-Class?  Possibly.  A million-and-a-half dollar Mercedes supercar set to go head-to-head with the Bugatti Veyron? Yes please.

Whatever the case, we will of course let you know if we hear anything new. In the meantime, you can head over the USPTO website to view DaimlerChrysler's filing for yourself.

Update: Unfortunately I can't link directly DaimlerChrysler's filing, so instead I've linked to the USPTO's main trademark page. After clicking the above link, select the "Search" link from the right column, then on the next page select "New User Form Search (Basic)", and finally on the next page enter "CLC-Class" in the search box and click "Submit Query". This will take you to DaimlerChrysler's CLC-Class filing.
