Although sales of the Mercedes Car Group have dropped slightly in their home country of Germany, sales in China have shown a significant increase this year, rising 31% through the first 11 months with 14,132 vehicles being sold.
In addition to the success of Mercedes, sales of the Chrysler Group have also noted an increase in China this year, up 5 percent to 28,548 units.
As for the rest of the northeast Asia region, DaimlerChrysler has stated that in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and the Republic of Korea, sales of passenger vehicles totaled 52,702 units through November, up 13 percent from 2004.
