| Unveiled: Mercedes Takes The Wraps Off The 2008 C-Class Estate |
| Posted August 31st, 2007 At 12:05 PM CST |

The wait for the kid-tested, mother-approved version of the 2008 C-Class if officially over, with Mercedes today taking the wraps off the estate version of the recently-redesigned model. Despite my earlier inclinations the estate's styling would be somewhat deficient compared to its sedan counterpart, seeing the final press shots leads me to retract any negative sentiments I harbor towards the model. While I wouldn't describe the model's design as perfect, it's still an attractive vehicle - especially with the Sport package - enough so that if I were in the market for an estate, it would likely be the one I'd choose...

| Posted August 30th, 2007 At 12:00 PM CST |

To those of you who tend to favor the directions given by the map offerings from tech giants Google and Yahoo as opposed to the ones provided by your Mercedes' navigation system, MBUSA has announced today that soon you'll be able to send customized maps from the aforementioned companies directly to your car computer.
Jointly developed by DaimlerChrysler and the two aforementioned companies, the system allows users either via computer or mobile device to plot destinations, points of interest, etc. into either Google Maps or Yahoo Local Maps, then click a "Send to Car" icon which beams the location to your car's navigation system. The info is then retrieved via a dashboard button on the Tele Aid telecommunications system...

| Special Feature: Innovation As A Tradition At Mercedes-Benz |
| Posted August 29th, 2007 At 1:00 PM CST |

Every so often, Mercedes' impeccable staff of press writers decide to publish an informative look at one of the luxury brand's numerous virtues, using history to showcase how exactly that particular trait has played a role in shaping the Mercedes-Benz brand and its present form. Today, that virtue is "innovation," with a total of thirteen pages and roughly 150 photos being published to describe the importance of innovation at Mercedes-Benz. Topics covered include the invention of the automobile, the development of both diesel and direct gasoline injection engines, and alternate drive systems, along with a number of other topics which all aim to highlight Mercedes' emphasis on forward-thinking...

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen; I hope you all had an absolutely splendid weekend. To kick things off this morning comes a programming note for those of you residing in Canada - one geared especially towards those of you who may have been contemplating the purchase of the exceptional new 2008 C-Class.
If you've visited the Mercedes-Benz Canada website in the not-too-distant past, you've likely already discovered that
information for the new C-Class lineup is currently present in the company's traditional, template-based manner. Noticeably absent however is the presence of an engaging, interactive microsite dedicated exclusively to the model, such as the one my American readers can can already indulge in on the Mercedes-Benz USA website. Oh, but fret not my dear Canadian readers, because officially launching tomorrow comes a shiny, new C-Class website created exclusively for you, packed with goodies and sure to wet your appetite for the C-Class' arrival in showrooms on September 12th...

| Spy Shots Showcasing A Slightly-Revised Mercedes Viano |

Going through our inbox this morning we received a tip from our friend Carlos - one which directed us to a batch new spy photos depicting a slightly-revised Mercedes Viano. While changes are minor, the areas expected to receive updates include the grille; the front and rear skirts; and most likely, the interior. Power is expected to remain the same, with customers having the option of either a petrol 3.0 or 3.5-Liter V6 (outputting 190 hp and 231 hp, respectively) as well as a 2.0-Liter four cylinder, 2.2-Liter four cylinder or 3.0-Liter V6 diesel powerplant (outputting 116 hp, 150 hp and 204 hp, respectively)...

| In The Year 2000: Auto Bild Speculates What The Future Holds For The Mercedes SLC |
| Posted August 17th, 2007 At 8:45 AM CST |

With the recent wave of Mercedes SLC spy shots making their rounds across the internet, it's no surprise that along with these photos come new renderings speculating what form the possible model will eventually end up taking.
The latest publication to weigh in with their thoughts on the matter is German-based Auto Bild, who apparently believes the SLC will be the bastard child born from a late-night, drunken tryst between a Mercedes SLR McLaren and a 911 Turbo. There's a touch of Gullwing present as well, but in the end I have to give Auto Bild's rendering a D+ for both lack of creativity and the fact their second rendering is on par with the graphics from a Nintendo 64 game...

| Two New Spy Photos Of Mercedes Testing In Dubai Emerge |
| Posted August 13th, 2007 At 8:45 AM CST |

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen; I hope you all had a fanstastic weekend. To kick things off this morning, the boys over at Jalopnik have posted a pair of new spy photos - photos which they're stating showcase both the W212 E-Class sedan and the E-Class wagon testing in Dubai.
After looking at the photos, however, I would instead wager a guess that the two vehicles pictured are the new C-Class wagon and the W212 E-Class sedan, due to the above photo's uncanny similarity to the previously seen unmasked C wagon spy shots. I could be wrong, but after seeing the E-Class' extensive cladding and the wagon's seemingly lack thereof, I doubt it...
