As my title has already alluded to, it was a difficult month for Mercedes-Benz USA, with the U.S. division noting a drastic 13.9% decrease in sales.  In total, sales at MBUSA for July amounted to 18,586 new vehicles, compared to 21,591 new units in July 2006.  This figure brings Mercedes-Benz USA's year-to-date total to 136,826 new units, an increase over 2006's seven month ytd total of 0.2%.

As for what models managed to beat the odds, the delectable new CL-Class was July's biggest gainer, noting a 561.5% sales increase with 344 units sold.  The S-Class and the M-Class were the only other two models to head in a positive direction, with Mercedes luxury sedan and SUV noting sales increases of 12.9% and 23.3%, respectively.

All in all, a tough month for Mercedes here in the States; but with the C-Class finally starting to hit dealerships, I'd expect to see things turn around in the not-too-distant future.

Enjoy.
