As you may remember, back in June spy shots depicting what was being called a test mule for a forthcoming Mercedes SLC surfaced, along with a vague description of what to expect from the forthcoming sports car. Going through our inbox, a reader by the name of Brian tipped us off to a Road & Track article which attempts to shed some additional light on the model, in addition to providing the attractive rendering pictured before you.
According the the article, the SLC, built in conjunction with HWA, will be based on the next SL-Class, and will feature a fixed carbon fiber roof as well as gullwing doors. As for power, Road & Track speculates AMG's 6.2 liter V8 will be used, with a twin-turbo version also rumored to be coming. Horsepower is expected to be in the 700 range, while pricing will be supposedly set at around $200,000.
As always, this info is purely speculation at this point, with none the above details confirmed by anyone. We will of course keep you posted if any additional
news emerges; in the meantime, head over to Road & Track to read more about the Mercedes SLC.
And to Brian: thanks for the tip my good sir; we sincerely appreciate it.
