While going through our inbox this bright August morning we received an email from an astute reader by the name of John, directing us to a a number of spy photos showcasing what is being called a new CLK DTM AMG.
Although due to legal reasons I can't display the entire photo, you'll see after hitting the link that the new CLK DTM appears slightly more refined than its sibling, while maintaining a strapping, aggressive stance...
If you're in the market for a new seven-passenger SUV, two automobile publications have today published reviews of the Mercedes GL-Class - one rating the GL 420 CDI, and the other critiquing the GL 450.
As has been the case with the majority of previous GL reviews, both testers found the GL to be an overall solid performer, with negatives coming by way of the GL's not-quite-large-enough size along with its relatively high price tag. Although I disagree with some of the reviewers criticisms, the articles will at least shed a little light as to what to expect from Mercedes' newest SUV...

As you may remember, back in May we brought word that Mercedes will be one of eight global partners this year supporting the FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen.

Based on an entry in a design competition held by Mercedes and the equestrian magazine ST. GEORG, the obstacle features a filigree shape and large Mercedes emblem, and will be used in the show jumping events of the games...

As I'm sure you've noticed, it's been a little over a week since we've reported any stories, but due to a series of unfortunate family events, I've been unable to monitor and bring you the latest Mercedes news. by the E63, uttering line after line of AMG praises...
Well ladies and gentlemen, let me first apologize for the lack of updates yesterday. Due to a problem with our servers, we were, as I'm sure you noticed, unable to publish any stories for your reading entertainment; thankfully, however, we've located the problem and have corrected it... at least we think we have.
So now that you know what we were up to yesterday, let's get straight into the Mercedes news, starting with a couple stories we weren't able to cover due to the afore-mentioned technical difficulties.
First up is an article sent to us by our good friend Jinx, in which Auto Express is reporting that Mercedes will be unveiling its new SLR McLaren convertible within the next six months...
For those of you looking to add a touch of flavor to your already-delectable Mercedes SL55 AMG, the tuning wunderkinds over at Carlsson have announced today the newest addition to their aftermarket Mercedes lineup.
Titled the CK55 RS,
Carlsson engineers took an ordinary 2007 SL55 AMG and made it... you guessed it... faster. More power by way of altering the M113 5.5 Liter supercharged V8's compressor transmission has resulted in a new output of 601 bhp/442kW with a maximum torque of 810 Nm at 2600 rpm, all while maintaining the SL's trademark reliability. The result is a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds, a 0-124 mph time of 13.06 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed of 206 mph...

While going through our inbox this tepid August afternoon, we received an email from our good friend Jinx, referring us to a follow-up test of the 2007 Mercedes E550 recently conducted by Inside Line.
In their review, testers praised the E-Class' solid feel, comfort, and of course, increased power, while negative marks were given as a result of the E-Class' slower slalom and braking times when compared to its German BMW and Audi rivals...
