While going through our inbox this bright August morning we received an email from an astute reader by the name of John, directing us to a a number of spy photos showcasing what is being called a new CLK DTM AMG.
Although due to legal reasons I can't display the entire photo, you'll see after hitting the link that the new CLK DTM appears slightly more refined than its sibling, while maintaining a strapping, aggressive stance.
Power for the model is expected to come by way of Mercedes' new 6.3-Liter V8, with a power output of around 600 horsepower. The source also suggests turbo and CGI fuel injection technology
may also make its way onto the new CLK DTM AMG.
We'll be sure to keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime, you can view the spy shots in their entirety by clicking here.
Thanks for the tip John.
[Update: After initially publishing the story, the source is now indicating that the vehicle in question is in fact not an updated CLK DTM AMG, but rather a CLK 63 AMG Black Series, ala the SLK 55 AMG Black Series. Although I tend to agree more that CLK is indeed an enhanced CLK 63, as opposed to a new CLK DTM AMG, I feel it's best not to speculate too much as to the exact details of the car. Chances are, it will receive a slight power boost, modified AMG brakes, suspension, etc. as well a number racing-inspired interior upgrades, but at this point it's too early to give the exact specs. We will, however, keep you posted when any additional info is released.]
