Auto Express Grabs More Spy Shots Of An Updated Mercedes SL-Class

Spy shot of an updated Mercedes SL-Class, front view

If you remember back in February, photos depicting an updated SL-Class emerged, photos of a vehicle that at the time were billed as the next-generation 2009 SL-Class.  Now, new photos of another updated SL have once again surfaced, revealing no more than they did the first time around.

As you'll see, the SL in question features a drastically-altered front end, with a grill much more in tune with the newly-introduced Mercedes models.  There's also light taping on the back, signifying a slight revision to the rear, but overall the back remains relatively unchanged.

So what do you think it is? After speaking with an insider at AMG, our friends over at Autoblog.nl have ruled out a SL63 AMG; they've ruled out the idea that this is the next-generation SL, indicating we won't see the next major revision until around 2011; so all that remains is an enhanced variant of the current SL, presumably a Black Series or something similar.

Of course at this point, this is all speculation; but as of now that's where the rumors stand.

We'll keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime, head over to Auto Express to view the full Mercedes SL-Class spy photo collection in its entirety.
